      Interceptor: Only 1290. Very few indians want a fast bike with 860 bigbore upgrade costing the cost of another interceptor. For the same money you can buy a big 4 cyl Kawasaki or Suzuki superbike.

    All these people saying "why not just get a 900cc Triumph"...
    Well, I've done a fair few modifications to my interceptor and am now considering going 865cc. My thoughts on it are:
    - Some people don't want yet another Bonneville. Nice bikes, but common enough that they don't have the unique factor of the RE. At least here in Australia, Bonnevilles seem to generally be an "old man" bike whereas RE seem to have a bit of a younger appeal which is fun.
    -If you go and get the 900cc Triumph there are still going to be things you want to change. Sure they come with more power right out the box, but in reality you're still going to find yourself wanting to swap mufflers, headers, intake, etc the same as you do with an RE, because all those items still give appreciable improvements in a Bonneville. Except they're a lot more expensive than they are for an RE.
    - Not everyone buys an Interceptor thinking they want more power right away. It's my first big bike and on the test ride I was really impressed by the power, since in reality they're not a "slow" bike in the way that people jumping off a 1000cc machine like to say they are. But after a year and a half, I'm starting to think more power would be nice. Options are: A) Develop and build a time machine to go back and purchase a faster bike instead of the interceptor. B) sell the interceptor I've taken to great care of and suffer the depreciation losses, and try to find and buy a second hand a higher power triumph, accepting the risk I get a lemon that the owner has not taken care of. C) Keep the bike I like, that I know has been taken care of, and which I've got some great memories with and spend the money to upgrade it. This leaves you happy with the power and you've got all the other modifications you liked enough to do, that you'd only have to go and do to whatever triumph you bought in Option B at greater expense.
    Yes it's expensive, but all the options are. For my money and in my situation option C makes most sense. If you don't have a big preference for the RE over a triumph for any reason and know you'll want more power right away, get the triumph instead of ever buying the RE.

    • @aryanbairagi4925
      @aryanbairagi4925 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      its a step by step investment, costs half of a triumph and you can go step by step increase power with added accessories and big bore kit.

    Many would like the 865 on a bike with the suspension travel of the Himalaya and a 300mile range. USA wants that kind of bike.

    I currently own a RE int 650, and have owned other faster bikes. I am sure it would be fun but I don’t think the extra cost would be justified. Maybe if one did all the work themselves. So the way it brakes down 6,500ish for the 650, plus 4 to 5 k more , for 11,000 usd you can by a much more powerful bike. Maybe not with as much character as the RE though. Too much money for modest improvement

      This is all about choice. As riders we all like our bikes to be slightly different, that's why we personalise them. • @andersbarfodsvaneskolan9378
    @andersbarfodsvaneskolan9378 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    the stock engines 47hp is relaxed considering that the engine is not a long stroke engine (bore = 78mm and stroke 67.8mm),, the bike has a low compression for a modern twin cylinder bike (9.5:1),, It should not be hard to push up engine HP and torque by 10% to around 52hp by increasing the compression slightly and altering the ECU and airflow (and use good european fuel),, a decrease weight with lighter pipes.
    I think that indian bikes are made to run on low grade fuel (octane 91).

    A superb bike with a great upgrade. However, now that I own a Triumph Rocket 3R no upgrade will matter to me because it will be hard to beat the torque and HP of the Rocket.

    Thing is!!!At that money on top of the bike its self' surly it would be better to just buy a Triumph .
    RE should offer a 750 cc

      i did all the work myself and i also did head work, dyno'ed at 91whp....bike & mods owe me what a triumph would have cost but at least it's not just another triumph and the triumphs can't catch it at the track.

    So you buy a close to 6,000 british pound bike, modify it so it costs almost the same as a triumphs speed twin? Why not just buy the speed twin from the beginning and be done with it?

    s&s is too expensive. waiting for some cheaper option from india. S&S parts if combined are more expensive than bike itself.

    As much as I love the look and idea if this bike they could have released it with 60+ hp. Shit even the sv650 has more

      Give them time. They are appealing to new bike owners and if you live in India its a big adjustment going from a 125cc to a 650 let alone huge HP and High revving
