Honestly, all most fans want from this series is a Slice of Life anime centered around Renton and Eureka living a fun life on the Gekko' and doing courier stuff with an episodic format where it's a new mission each week. Is that so hard to ask? Why do the creators of this series have such a fetish for changing their canon? Are they J.K. Rowling fans or something? Like, even a moron could write a cliche sequel to this series that makes more sense, and would get a better reaction, than what has been done so far.
Because you can't do that. At the end of E7, geckostate disbands after fufilling their purpose. You really can't do a sequel with any of the main cast because it would just be them all going home and getting jobs unless you pulled out some flimsey excuse for a new big epic adventure but that would suck.

What would be the point of that? Sounds very boring and not what most fans liked about the show. I didn't watch it because it was a slice of life series, I generally find slice of life uninteresting. I watched it because it was a sweet coming of age story with fun mecha aesthetics. Renton has now come of age though, so the story is over. I don't see why we need a sequel or continuation. Just find another show.

Which he basically did in a way when he removed her from the scubs in the cavern. Since She never dreamt she so had no idea how dreams worked. So the end of hi evolution 3 was a representation of Renton rescuing her from the scubs that engulfed her in original series and the original series continues as the only canon storyline. @@MuhAddinMalikI really think the original writer of eureka wanted to fix all the lousy spin-offs and sequels and movies to only make his storyline cannon. The fans love the original and most hated the rest and I think he wanted to make it right. I believe this because he reaffirmed the original story up until Renton went back to gekko state in hi evolution 1 then showed all other stories as being dreams in hi evolution 2 until she wakes up at the end of hi evolution 3. So naturally she would wake back up when she does in the original story. It all makes sense and fixes everything.
After watching both movies, I officially want Bones just to leave Eureka 7 alone. Everything they have been making after the anime has been trash

If they wanted to bank on Eureka Seven. Maybe create new story line elements. Perhaps keep what made the original series interesting. The love story. Mechs. Perhaps make new protagonists. Set in an alternate universe or universes. Maybe the events to the original series can be either a spiritual prequel or sequel to the events of eureka seven. Something of a story pattern to that of Jojos bizarre adventure.
Thank God that I never bothered to watch anything Eureka Seven related after the Original 2005 Series.
Hi-Evolution 1 couldn't live up to 100% of its original intent, budget and hype... that's understandable. But Hi-Evolution 2 is clearly the result of someone or some people taking charge mid-production and change everything to fit with their ideas and vision for the franchise, thinking themselves clever and big brain meta. "It was all a dream", yeah because that's so original and definitely something the fans craved. Media production in Japan can be so damn self-destructive and stubborn sometimes, never learning from mistakes and just rolling with whatever shitty management they're under.

My brain just crashed from hearing this. Hi-Evolution makes no sense at all. They took our favorite love story with awesome Mecha robot fights and turned this into this Gods among us, dimension travel, was it all a dream or not bullshit. They basically cliffhangered a cliffhanger over and over. Just said fuck all this love shit and fuck the old series, let’s rip off COD zombies but get good fight scene animators. Suck wasted potential.

I seriously hope that is the case, and it would make the most sense. I honestly didn’t mind AO or Pocket Full of Rainbows because they just seemed like alternate timelines to me. But HI evolution 2 saying they were nothing but dreams is like saying sorry you wasted all that time watching for nothing dipshit.
@@SanguiniustheGreatAngel Hi evolution 1 solidified the first half of the original series until he came back to gekko state after staying with that other couple. The second one makes everything dreams except for the original, and the third is when she woke up. It all comes together plus after watching the original series again as soon as she goes in the column she starts dreaming. She’s in a library and opens an empty book, which not only represents her, but also makes her very insecure. I don’t mind the change as I hated the other movies and series. It was not just alternate time lines it was completely new stories that contradicted and changed the original. I watched them but felt I wasted my time right after anyways so at least now I feel less screwed.

So basically the Hi-Evolution Films is from a formula based outta the Evangelion Rebuild films guide book.
I saw Hi-Evolution 2, and I actually really liked it, *_Fuuka Anemone_* seems like 50x better than OG Batshit Insane Anemone, I actually liked her story, and her background too, and it's Ironic because if it hadn't been for Eureka's Godlike power driving her obsessiveness of wanting to bring back her "Dead" Renton, she constantly restarted the world several times, we woundn't have that Fuuka Anemone.
So basically Hi-Evolution doesn't have anything to do with the TV series, I don't think it was ever intended to be so either.
And then there's that damn Purple Tesseract floating in the atmosphere, I guarantee that thing is the only factor in linking this Multiverse.
It's just another iteration of the characters in an alternate universe(s), pretty much just like Rick & Morty, so I don't see what's so upsetting about this, if anything it adds more for my love of this series, because it gives it infinite potential.
Though I will say that Hi-Evolution 2 definitely has some serious flaws, mostly in regards to the reality altering parts, like how a Destroyed App form of Dominic from her dead father became sentient, and manifested itself in the real world, along with a Mecha/Imaginary version of Gulliver out of a old military grade VR room's power. And it was enough to combat Eureka in her Godlike state. How did Gekko State appear outta no where near the end and were they the original cast or not? What was the story with the other Girls? If Dewy got teleported between worlds from the previous movie, why does he look like he time-traveled in stead since he looks so old? It implies that Eureka restarted the world several times, but how many?
Multiverse can't be the answer to all of these things.
The mysteriousness of Eureka Seven always fascinated me, but this takes things into so many different directions, it just adds more confusion.
Though I will add in that the CGI used to make Loli Anemone & Loli Eureka was really good, almost on par with Land of the Lustrous's CGI.
I wholly agree with this. Aside from the general confusion Hi - Evolution caused me with its sequence of events (I've only watched the films once so I didn't quite get when Eureka touched silver box and killed Renton or how exactly the Scub appeared in Anemone's world) I think it's a wonderful, if niche, set of films. The production quality is generally very high, the soundtrack is phenomenal and Hi-Evo 2 & 3 have a really interesting feel and vibe to them. I don't even mind the whole "Rebuild of Eureka" style they're going for.
Since AO already clearly doesn't happen in the same continuity as the OG series (there's WAY too many inconsistencies for that) I don't think Hi - Evo takes anything away from E7. It just adds another alterante universe style spin to the story.

I’ve read an online review of Hi-Evolution 2 last year (and probably the only one out there) so I already knew it wasn’t really all that good. But I had no idea it was going to be such a cataclysmic fuck-up. Bones has pulled a Terminator: Dark fate on Eureka Seven. They’ve effectively killed the franchise.
Also, WHY THE FUCK DID THEY CREATE IDOL CHARACTERS FOR THE MOVIE IF THEY DON’T EVEN EXIST?! THERE’S EVEN CHARACTER ART ON GOOGLE IMAGE, FOR CHRIST’ SAKE!

AO wasn’t terrible. it was their take on an evangelion type story and the ending ova stuff was amazing as a wrap up. not the best ending but for where it went, it was good. the PS2 Games are all the content they need to do another 24-50 ep.

i knew something was up with hi - evolution 2 when they said she lost control of her powers and absorbed/killed renton so basically all these dreams began in the main series in one of the fights nirvash fought type theEnd... and this also explains why the gekkostate and renton adopted family appeared in the end of hi- evolution 2 because she decided to accept regret etc and stay in this anemone reality remember she has the god power to create which i assumed she obtained after accidentally killing renton in the main series after a fight with theEnd.. im assuming the clips at the ending from hi-evolution 1 were a combination of hi- evolution 2 and 3 or maybe 4.... thanks alot to you roion bro i fully understand one of my classic fav og anime
Also it would appear that the Renton that is sending the message out at the end is from the original series as that is the only time he wears that outfit. Could still be very possible the events that unfolded in that dream are the reason he comes back

Also, her supposedly "god powers" comes from touching some sort of silver box...which doesn't explain the situation not even a little bit, because things would then work in the timeline like this:
Renton meets Eureka ---> Acperience happens ---> Eureka kills/absorbs Renton ---> Eureka finds the "Silver Box" ---> Eureka turns into "Eureka Seven"
WHICH MEANS THAT ACTUALLY, this Anemone's world is not "our world" but their world in the future after Eureka touched the "Silver Box" and turned into "Eureka Seven"

The original anime is where the Eureka 7 universe starts and ends for me. No manga, no light novel, no eureka 7 ao and don't even talk to me about the hi-evo movies... those do not exist in my reality.

The way I've always seen it is that the manga, light novel, video games, and the pocketful of rainbows movie along with these three movies are Alternative Universes to the main Eureka Seven and AO TV series like how the Code Geass mangas, video games, and new movie trilogy are Alternative Universes to the original series they're a different take on the story but with the same characters.

i've read this theory that the "seven" in in eureka seven not only refers to the seven swell phenomenon, but it also refers to the total of universes in the eureka seven franchise. anime, movie, novel, manga, new order, ao, and finally hi-evo.

I watched the first Hi-E movie at Otakon for a world premiere. And every time Play forward and Play Back came on screen the entire audience groaned. People got up and left after the third one.
In other words, people if you are reading this comment and felt in love with Eureka seven like I did, then don't watch the hi evolution movies. It doesn't worth your time. I wish I could get that wasted time back. We got to accept the ending of Eureka seven, which for my opinion it wasn't bad. At the end we all know that Japanese people sucks when it comes to anime endings. Ive seen thousands of animes and this is one of the best (less bad) endings ive seen so far! So just watch the 50 episodes and leave it there.
Actually the movies are following Multiverse rules to expand on the lore & add & connect a lot what if scenarios & supplementary material they couldn't add in the original series (in other words these movie franchise was made for the advent fan's of the series who had access to the spinoff series's & wanted more)

About the HI-Evo 2 trailer, what I think is, it was just a joke. Remember the Evangelion movies when at the end they showed us what the next movie will look like, and then it was completly different? I think Studio Bones just jokes at that with the supposed "trailer". If you look closely, the images that trailer showed us doesn't even make sense, like, WTF? so yeah, just a joke I think. The same with the Hi Evo 3 trailer that looks like Gundam, just a joke. This people don't give an F about what people think, they have money and freedom so they do what they want.
About the all other stuff, I think the new stuff at Bones loves Eureka Seven but always thought the series could have more potential. Way more, we're talking Evangelio status. So they are trying with all this new stuff. For me, AO wasn't even that bad (except a couple of things easily forgoten), I don't know why people hate it so much. I always thought the more "realistis" and "in our era" could fit so well with the story.

As someone already mentioned in this comment section, if the renton who's sending away that message turns out to be the one from the original endings there might be chances of getting a happy ending with eureka and renton reuniting together in hi-evolution 3 which will appear in 2021
The other thing that annoys me is that it also destroys "Pocketful of Rainbows " (Good night, Sleep Tight, Young Lovers) but without even doing a "fever dream" explanation, because the entire point of that plotline is that at the end of it the "storywriter" is given the power to rewrite their universe to create a new Neverland; using the power of the Eizo's dream to create a new world that leads to happiness and not endless destruction. So the storywriter writes the Eureka 7 timeline into existence, allowing the lost children to grow up into gekkostate, and allowing Eureka and Renton to finally spend their lives together, a beacon for humanity and coral together. Even though that plotline is a tad bonkers, it does lead to this idea that the universe rewrites to canonise Eureka 7 as the true story where the universe can continue into a place of love, it actually used the multiverse side of Eureka 7s finale to make somehting interesting without destroying the original....and now the only piece of E7 side content that actually tries to respect the original is just gone xD.
It makes no sense, I don't get why Hi-Evolution is doing this. The sad part is that the split universe at the end of E7 that the coral all go to could lead to a lot of fun "what if" stories, so erasing the entire canon constantly makes no sense; they gave themselves a way to do things and yet never use it, it's absolutely bizarre.

These two Hi-Evolution movies murdered the entire IP then fucked its dead body senseless before pissing and shitting on it so much that I'd rather unsee the whole thing. I fucking cried tears of sadness after the second movie. They ruined my childhood, they ruined the very reason why turquoise has been my favorite color since I first watched the OG show. I'm just devastated man.
Also, why the fuck is everybody doing these pocket dimension/multiverse stories now? Is utilizing JUST a single continuity a crime against literature!?

So disappointed to hear about Hi Evo 2 it’s actually funny I can’t even believe it, how they could ruin this masterpiece. Oh right it was all a fever dream. I just finished HE1 and HE2 after OG (I realized AO and Pocket were not worth it) and my head was full of confusion, contradictions, disappointment and ideas that didn't make sense, so I felt I was missing something or not understanding.

Hi Evolution 1's first 30 minutes showing Adroc's sacrifice was the heaviest battle scene I have ever seen, intense shit. You can feel the gravity of the situation.
Then it crashed, and Hi-evolution 2 was a clusterfuck.
I recommend watching the original series and then the Hi-evolution 1 intro and THAT'S IT.
I laugh so hard LOLOL. I know I wouldn't watch another spin-off after I watch AO. I rather watch the original for like the fifth time.

It makes no sense how they can mess up the series this bad. The blueprint is literally there with the first 2 original seasons, all they had to do was build on top of it.
I have avoided High Evo after I saw the first in theatres. I was so afraid. You confirmed my fears. Bones broke my heart with this.
As soon as Domonic AI came into the Hi-Evolution 2 story, I just started skimming from there.
The manga wasn't even that bad considering its basically the orignal story of the tv series but they decided to change it because the show was getting more popular which they didn't expect and both Senpei & Nazuka (Renton & Eureka seiyuus/voice actors) felt sad about the orginal ending which is why it ended up with the ending that we know from episode 50 which they didn't plan it in the beginning.

I liked all the other installments because it really made me realize the different possibilities of Eureka 7 and stories surrounding Renton and Eureka. For me the og story wasnt what made E7 such a enjoyment for me but it was the individual elements. Understanding that there is a Eurekaverse has made me more open towards the later installments to quench my thirst for more eureka7 content.

And I’m once again surprised at the absence of Historyman101 and his bro Illustrious Rocket lmao, those two actually brought me into thinking seriously about watching this series but then a lot of the “true fans” or those with writing talents and big brains (including the legendary duo I mentioned) seem to dislike the hi evo movies and so and I’m truly torn lol

Hi-Evo 2 has even weirder stuff:
- How was Eureka using the Scrub to destroy the world in any way connected with getting Renton back? How was it helping?
- If the OG series is now established to be one of Eureka's dreams, WHY DIDN'T SHE STOP THERE? The anime ends with her and Renton together and happy, so why would she try more "dreams"?
- What's with the merging worlds at the end?
- What was the point of the first movie?
And like the first movie, the first part of Hi-Evo 2 is acceptable. Not as good as the flashback to Summer of Love we got, but it was an ok alternate universe with Anemone as the protagonist. Then we see Eureka being the exact opposite of what she was in the original and everything goes to shit, Giant Gullivers from Space included.

15:18 - Alright, so I completely agree with everything you’re saying, but *pushes up glasses* if you think back to the original series, the Vodarac believe that the universe is actually a dream that their god (who I think was also called Vodarac?) was having, and that the universe would end if their god woke up. In the context of the original show it was supposed to be like a hippie-dippy “science and religion are two paths to towards the same end” kind of thing, but it looks like the movie took it seriously to justify the flimsy plot. I guess it’s kind of cool that they’re capitalizing on that tiny bit of trivia, but it’s too bad that it was done so poorly.

I might be late but in case you still havent found out. The creator: Dai Sato was forced to end the original series with a happy ending leaving him to have a hate boner for the original when AO flopped.
the eureka seven manga is the original thing, the anime changed it so it was more happy ending.
Eureka Seven it's an ORIGINAL anime/story. The manga came later, it's not the original thing.

For Eureka Seven Ao half way through the series they had they're episode count cut in half, but if it had more episodes the story would've been much more fleshed out and different from what we've got. But I still enjoyed Ao, had a great concept but was poorly exicuted. A shame we see no fruther references to Ao.

I never realised until you said it, you're actually right, it does feel like the franchise is constantly trying to shit on the original. I did not like Eureka Seven AO, in fact I dropped it and then had to pick it back up like a year or 2 after it came out, don't even know why I did.
I was genuinely looking forward to hi-evolution, but frankly once they were just showing original footage I...Just skipped to new shit. I also remember having a bitter taste in my mouth watching "Pocket Full of Rainbows". And I haven't watched Anemone yet.
I haven't read the manga yet, but there was a point last year where I took a brief look at it...This video has made me kinda sad that the original anime which I rate in my top 5 anime is just treated so badly -_-
I'm trying to understand this madness after watching movie 3 the girl becomes a new eureka, everyone does kamikaze in the space elevator for out of nowhere Renton ghosts, I don't know where he appears from, and remakes the end of ep 50 only with eureka aged 24. Does anyone understand anything can explain this crazy thing, because even Wikipedia doesn't have it

Hi Evolution 2 ending really fucked things up. Making the original series which is so amazing that i can re-watch the entire series 12 years later and not be bored by it not canon hurts the soul. I am hoping that Hi Evolution 3 fixes the mess of the 2nd so hopefully we can get a happy ending to the movies. For now ill just continue watching the OG series only.
Soi never watched the Hi-Evo movies...and after this is really don't want to. AO was bad enough already.
My only questions are
1. How did Renton die then?? I'm pretty sure he rescued her safely and there was no part where we were asking "how'd he survive that". Plus it wasn't until after that event that Eureka began to develop feelings for Renton. So i don't think she'd go THIS far to create a world with him in it. Also, nice god powers Eureka. Can't bring him back to life, but can create an entirely new reality...with him in it!!
2. If at the end of the movies, Dominic can leave the dream with his body(a dream creation) Why cant Renton?? Like is it because he is entirely a dream creation?
P.S. Eureka created an entire dream reality that was SO perfect we didn't know it was so. Like the entire second half of the series. Everyone's thoughts and desires, even of people she never knew like Dewey. The exact same. WOW, what an idiotic way to recon a series. Let this be a lesson for aspiring film makers. "It was all a dream" is a VERY hard thing to make work..and this is not how you do it.

I saw the first Hi evolution episode last night loved the start and was bored by the retelling of the Original and then the whole showing scenes out of order was ridiculous. Now ik I won't be buying the 2nd because of what I've seen here and the 3rd I will hold off till I see Reviews because I dont have high Hope's for it either. I Dont understand bone's Reasoning to Shit all over the Original Series its Literally the reason why I still watch eureka 7 at all now. What is the Fucking problem with writing a sequel to the original that doesn't destroy every piece of lore they have established like they have done in AO and now in HI evolution. If they cannot put a story that complements the original then leave the damn thing alone simple as that.
