- Every story is obviously going to have it's flaws, but from a creative writing perspective one think I think could have been emphasized to make Magnifico 100% the bad guy was Simon's depression. Poor guy just wanted to wield some swords, and without his wish had a hole in his heart :(

The Idea that Star can SEE the hole in Somebody's heart that taking away their wish leaves is absolute GOLD, and I think that it would be an AMAZING idea to see in a community remake of the movie.
Also, can I just say how much I LOVE the concept of Asha starting out more awkward and shy, but then the more carefree and confident Starboy falls out of the sky (literally) and Gradually brings Asha out of her Shell?

I love how this take gives Star depth. He is someone who loves to see people happy and fulfilled. This state that Maguinifico leaves others in would be another motivator for him as a character and it would be personal because he wouldn't be able to understand how someone could be so vile. And Asha was hilarious here too. With more personality than in the entire film.

Words cannot describe how much level of emotion and how hard this one scene hits then the entirety of the actual movie/film. The movie needs a fan remake, Pronto.

So Asha is tucking in her two children, Stella (she has golden hair like star and a complexion like Asha) and Cosmo (Looks just like Asha). Stella asks why they always look to the stars, Asha explains breifly about wishing. And as Asha leaves the room, Stella and Cosmo wake up, walk o the window, look to the sky and wave saying: "Hi daddy!"

@@sarahsworks IDK, I kinda like the Idea that Star gives up his Magic in order to be with Asha. It'd be a monumental sacrifice on his part, and basically the ultimate act of devotion, giving up infinite power to be with the person he loves. Plus I don't think the other stars would just... let him stay down on earth with that amount of power, so... I mean, maybe he gets to keep some of his magic, but it'd be more on par with a human sorcerer as opposed to a LITERAL WISHING STAR.

omg this is incredible, it also adds something the movie was missing, which was some actual stakes. if they wanted getting the wishes back to be such a big deal, why make it so that the people in rosas are just fine w/ out them!? great animatic btw, love the way u portrayed everyone :D

It would make it the more reason why he betray his friends, not just wanting to get what he want but also fulfill the empty hole inside him. I did not watch the movie but I seen scene and people seem happy and ok without their wises.

OH!! This is so moving - I love the idea of Star having a sort of second sight related to wishes and how deeply he feels the tragedy of what happened to Simon.
I am living for these re-imaginings of Wish coming from the fans who care. This would be such a cool trait for Star boy to have, and gives him a reason to help the people of Rosas.

According to someone online his name was supposedly going to be Earendel. If you look up the name it means "the morning star" or "the dawn." I could see two different but interesting romantic relationships here. I feel that Earendel is the more carefree and cofident one while Asha is shy but intelligent. However, when things goes wrong their roles kinda switch a bit. Earendel reveals to actually have a wise side underneath his cockiness and he kinda help Asha be more confident in herself. The two actually have something in common which is that both of them are family oriented but the different is that Asha also cares about her friends and community. Seeing this kinda help Earendel open up his heart more toward to total strangers.
I think that Earendel is overall a good-hearted person. He doesn't really want to harm anyone. But that also doesn't mean that he is going to gives out his heart just about everyone. That would be stupid and that actually is something that I've seen people complains about with Magnifico. While he does it in a selfish way, the part with him not granting everybody wishes is some level reasonable since people are not always capable making the best choices or may only wish something at that particular time. Nothing wrong with stars helping guide people in some ways but the people on some level need to work on getting their dream as well since they will feel better when they get their reward and they themselves grow as people. I think it would be a fair and mature way on both sides.
As for Magnifico and Amaya, I do not wish for some kind of betrayal between them. They are both completely confident and comfortable about their relationship. They're the only ones who relies on each other so that show lot of trust in one another. They are kinda like Gomez/Morticia or Clyde/Bonnie. They will fight and they will die together.
0:32 As heartwarming as this is to see Star fill the whole in Simon's heart, I can just see him being like "Uh...yeah, you should be sorry. You just touched my chest, I'm not that kind of guy."

I really love this animatic! If you think about it, you're modeling Wish and giving it life at you artistic vew. I really like that Asha is talking and Starboy's just like "What on Sky is that thing?" And when he went to touch de cookers chest (I didn't watch the movie, I don't know if it's a character of the original one) without asking if he should, he just went. THANK YOU MUCH, SARAH, FOR BRINGING AGAIN AN ANIMATIC WISH, I LOVE WHAT YOU ARE DOING WITH THE CONCEPT OS THE MOVIE

This is so creative! imagine a scene like this in the movie gosh
I imagines that the starboy (Earendel) comes from a huge family (ton of stars after all) and is quite a complex character. One hand he can be very fun-loving yet immature but on the other hand he can also have bit of cynical with the world due to seeing much selfishness. He doesn't hates humanity in general but he does feel that people uses stars for selfish reasons. Meeting Asha help him see that people can be selfless when they want to be and that sometimes it okay for people to ask stars for guidance which allows him to show a more wise side to her.
I imagines that he's truly something of a wild card here. He clearly cares a great deal about his enormous family but he doesn't really get why are they so willingly to grant humans wishes when in his mind they just takes. While a fair thought to have, he in fact is also kinda the same since he is quite carefree and somewhat self-centered as well. Still, despite everything when he find himself forced on actual Earth, he is quite tame to humans treating them at best as amusement and companions. However, it is only when he see Asha (whom he grows to respect during their journey) being affected by her family and friends being in danger is he is able to really relates to her and understand why his family do what they do. It is only when Asha start giving up does he really steps up revealing a philosophical and more noble side and encouraging her that despite her shy and bookworm personality, he is in awe of her for fighting for something that won't just benefits her family and friends but also for her whole community. It is through her that he see that sometimes people really do need help and guidance from another world.
It would be fun to see their personalities balance one another!

@@OpticalSorcerer Well he doesn't have to be a complete cocky male lead. Some level of it is actually a front to hide his disillusioned with the world. He likely seen lot of bad that happened in the world so the cocky part is kinda to hide that from Asha. Asha's journey is to learn that there more to this boy than she thinks. He teaches her that stars shouldn't be everybody solution to their problems while she teaches him that sometimes stars are really needed to help guide people even if it just a little.
@@jfk-t9o Perhaps. It depends on the execution. I wasn't a fan of selfish Flynn Ryder, but I liked Naveen since his selfishness was more innocent. I'd like a mature male lead, though; most of the male leads since the renaissance are "boys" in contrast to "men," so to speak. An academic Star would be fun, or someone dutiful and serious like Shang. I imagine Asha more in line with Pocahontas' personality.

I love 0:09, where some stardust escapes Star Boy. I love the meticulousness, which I notice that Disney is lacking nowadays.
Y’know, I’ve been thinking that since Wish was meant to pay homage to Disney’s other films, I think the stardust radiating from Star Boy is supposed to be a reference to the pixie dust shown in the Peter Pan movie, the Tinker Bells movies, and also Jake and the Neverland Pirates.

Even though I still loved the movie and it’s my favorite tbh here’s top 3 things we were robbed from:
3) Asha’s final dress for the ending.
2) Amaya and Magnifico being our first ever Disney villain couple along with their cat and they were gonna be Asha’s original parents.
1) the biggest robbery of all: NOT GETTING STAR BOY AND A LOVE INTEREST BETWEEN HIM AND ASHA CONSIDERING WE HADN’T HAD A LOVE STORY SINCE EITHER FROZEN OR TANGLED!😫😭

Wow, this was such a good scene, showing that Star cared about Simon without even knowing him just adds so much more depth to him!
Also, kind of Ironic since one of Star's original powers was to heal people who's wishes were broken and their life force was slowly draining.

This is honestly amazing, I love the writing the visuals and that idea that could have been in the movie. sucks that disney is really doing bad on the writing. it would be awesome if somebody could rewrite the whole movie and just do a concept of it like this
WoW, that "I am so sorry" part 😲 When all potrays Starboy as funny and childlike, that scene could really hit with contrast about what being he is.

And I should say Haley Joel Osment would voice Starboy making his Walt Disney Animation Studios debut. That goes the same with Jesse McCartney as Starboy's singing voice. Ha! I made a ryhme. As for the length, I would say 2hrs and 15mins.
