  • Here, we work on changing the “lifetime" transfer case divider fluid and rear differential oil in my E70 that just turned 100K miles. I utilize a few very helpful tools, but I’m sure other alternatives are available too. I’ll address the front differential in a separate video in the future.

    For those with e70 diesels, both the fill and drain plug are on the forward side of the transfer case, at least that's how it is on my '12 X5d.

      On my '12 E70 xDrive35i both fill and drain are in the rear (ATC 450 stamp on transfer case). The fill plug is in a very, very tight space and difficult to access.

      My 11 35d drain bolt was on the back side (rear of car) and the fill was on the front side (front of car).

    Nice video, I would like to know few stuffs, it is on the driver side after the transmission? Do you lift the x5 front behind? Or you work directly under lol, if lifted on one side, does the oil get drained more then what it should be when the vehicle is straight , thanks

    • @jec330i
      @jec330i 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can do this with the X5 on level ground (directly) otherwise, use 4 jack stands but not necessary. If you lift one side to drain (only 2 stands) then be sure it is level before filling!!! The plug is above the cross member shown, technically in front of the transmission.

    Maybe inpa 5.0.6 is better for that sort of ecu reset
