BMW E46 330i 325i Evaporator DIY Replacement and AC Charge - Part 1
Where'd you get the Hex tool kit?
Thank you for making this series of videos! I watched them with great interest, and spent a lot of the time really hoping that I never have to deal with a faulty evaporator! The AC in my E46 doesn't work, and I'm about to get it leak-tested at a shop. So hoping that it's just an o-ring somewhere or a leaking Schrader valve... Thank you again for taking the time to record all this work.
Can we get a link to that set of hex wrench connections, please, and thank you
Thanks for posting these videos. My 2001 330ci was leaking at 2inhg in 25 minutes. I’ve just injected 2oz of blue devil stop leak. I’ll let you know if it fixes my leak. I used your charts for how much 134 to add. Thanks again!
Any video about front differential?
How many hours in total did it take you? And where did you get the knowledge to do that quite involved job?
Thanks for these all very helpful. 👍
Is this the same on the 3.0d versions ?
Where can you locate ng thermistor for evaporator?
Thanks first of all to up load these series. These are 6 year old videos so I am not sure that you still follow up all the comments. But I am still write to get some ideas ,I hope. Why did u decide to replace the evaporator? Any bad symptoms?
Where can I buy those hex wrench connectors????
Great video Where did you get that set of hex wrench connection? Thank you.
Thanks! Great detail provided, very helpful. My cabin filters had not been changed in 5 years...they were clogged up big time.
Great video which spark plugs did you install, mine is 2010 x5 3.0 I drive, think it’s an e70, thanks!
I need to fix the flaps that are inside the housing at minute 6:18 do they sell the separately o do I need to buy a new housing ?
Might try a junk yard for those. Not sure if it is available. Try realoem for part.
Anyone knows where do we get those hex adapters?
I often watch your videos to get tips on spicific instrutional tips. This one is not your best. Three things on this one i have problems with. 1) the reason i seek your videos is your attention to detail, when re-installing plugs and especially the coil a small amount of lube should be put on the mating surfice. 2) i appreciate your videos and mechanical skills to see craftsman tools in your qualified hands, 3) I was looking this one up because something was blocking #4 coil from lifting out. Your statement of 2-5 are not eventful. That is not correct if # four has to have what i believe the variable timing controller removed. I again appreciate your helpful videos, just needed info on 4# cyl. Thanks Kenneth Martin Star Brake
Thanks for documenting this job in such great detail. It has helped me out tremendously!
Does the front and rear differential take the same fluid?
No, you have to check the OEM numbers.
BMW Genuine OEM DTF 1 FLUID 75W 1 LITER 83-22-2-409-710 for transfer case 75w 90 gear oil for the rear differential and 75w 140 gear oil for the front differential, most brands are compatible with Hypoid gears as stated on the label. Some youtube channels state that you should fill the front differential until it drips. I have not verified why but if someone knows the reason you should only fill with 500 mil let us know. I used about 650 mil on mine.
Oh my GOD, thank you so much for this videos. My weekend project. I also have to replace my AC pulley bearing and thermostat.
At 6:00 I would just get some new ones from eBay, they are like $4 a pack of 50, and it will save you the hassale of having to wrestle them everytime you take the wheel arch off
Just for what it's worth, I found removing the headlight much easier both in execution and access to the drier. Is there a particular reason you chose the washer tank/wheel/inner fender route?
Lefthand
I didnt manage to see, is your car left hand drive or right hand drive ? so I know which side to start on the intercooler mounts
Left hand
Fantastic help for the in cabin filter find. Thank you kindly. Wish you had more for the x5 3.0si. They are so dang helpful. I appreciate ya brother.
Which site did you bought the hex wrench connection tools from ? I'm looking everywhere and still can't get them. If it is possible, could you send the link where to purchase the hex wrench tool set please.
Thank for that video.
Got the transfer case oil change done - but still cannot reset the gearbox service warning on my 2012 X5 E70. Anyone know how to do that?
Also, I have a BMW X5, I don’t know what you means by E70???
What kind of oil do you use for the BNW X5
Can someone share a link to the reset🥶
That was super helpful... Thank you!
No checking and confirming the GAP of the new plugs before installing?
I hope this also applies to the diesel 35d e70 model.
Eres un durako, gracias por el video el mio 👍👍👍

thanks so much . my e70 will soon be happy
Great video. I found that breaking the extensions in the middle before inserting the plug into port #6 . Socket + short extension first, then when that's in the port connect the other short extension and ratchet made it easier to get into/out of #6, but getting the coil back in was a bugger. Thanks for sharing. BTW I did No. 6 first thanks to your heads up!
Do you have to reset on board Computer for this this job?
Nice one. Thank you. Did it make a noticeable difference?
Thats a nice drill pump. Whats the brand?
Great Video ! Thank you for sharing !
much better than mod mini. thank you
At 5:00 you showed a table ND talked about adding PAG oil. Where and how do you add it?
Can I do this without the tool that measured the torque? I don't have one of those.
Tranfercase have not filter?
And does it have reset option?
These valve cover Bolts are crazy expensive, where did you get them?
Outside of eBay and Amazon (which are often only slightly less expensive than dealership) autohausaz .com has some. But,,, not sure what your situation is but if yours are steel (even if they are rusted), they can be reused- just clean off the rust. But, if yours are aluminum (which are cheaper in price) they have to be replace (each and every time). Hope this helps.
Hi, what model year is your car? Greetings from France🇫🇷🥖 Peter
2008
Thanks👍 Peter
Great Video Super Helpful. Question- I saw that you went ahead and replaced the Valve Cover bolts (those were pretty rusted) but had they not been, is it still necessary to replace them if they are in good visual appearance?
No need to replace if they are in good shape. Not really a stretch bolt like a head bolt is.
