Antiquated and over 10yrs you say ... I have that same 2GR 3.5 in my 06' Avalon Limited w over 205K TROUBLE FREE MILES 🫡 And still ticking on it. Gotta love Toyota/Lexus!!!
Got one for a loaner when I took the RX350 in for service. Kept it for 24 hours and I thought it was a pleasant car. Nice interior, steering wheel feels great in the hand, but it is very sedate. Overall, I think I'd want a more interesting car, but it's definitely a comfortable ride.
Can't believe it's already been a year since you bought the car! Glad you guys are liking it so far! My grandma drives a 2012 ES350 that she bought new in 2012 & hers has been problem free. Sure, that engine has been around for a very long time, but it's still fantastic in every way. I have it in my 2015 Camry XSE & I still love to listen to it when I rev it & accelerate from a stop. It still sounds much, much better than all of the modern turbo 4-cylinders! I'm guessing they'll eventually use the new direct injection V6 that was recently introduced on the RX, Highlander, Sienna & upcoming 2018 Camry which produces 295 HP.
Love that atomic silver color! It changes under different lightings and it has so many shades of silver color in it. Under sunlight it even shows a little golden color. Very nice!
Thank you so much for doing this one year after video. I wish there were more videos on TH-cam about used cars, because my main focus is to know how reliable the vehicle is, how it holds up over the long term, and if issues or annoying things come up, like the 20K maintenance you mentioned, or how wonderful the infotainment joystick works once you get used to it. Thanks again!
Good job, dude. I just bought a 2015 with 58K miles to be delivered this coming week. Same color, nearly identical but mine has nicer rims with the same wood upgrade, steering wheel, etc. I don't have the ML audio upgrade so I hope the stock is OK. My wife can't listen to my 80s metal anyway. Ha
@@Fister_of_Muppets Thanks for the reply. My 2015 does have the ML stereo as it has the ultimate package. So, it's better than I expected. Carvana didn't note it.

Thank you for these video updates. I'm considering a pre-owned ES. I'm struggling with the reason for high-priced Toyota. Toyota is overcharging for packages that really should be within the base of a luxury vehicle. And the remote start issue, shutting down the engine to push the button, is ridiculous. I'm really not as impressed with this year/model/package as I had hoped.
Hi, your review is wonderful and it's one of the videos that helped make up my mind to get the 2017 base over the BMW 5 series. The ES is a dream to drive. Thanks and well done.

I do wish my QX30 had Ventilated seats. I also found out that it has a fixed Glass roof vs a Power Sunroof. It is the biggest downside so far is that I don't have a Power sunroof anymore. But at least it's a fixed glass roof. The next complaint is that the Rear fog light is out already so I am going to have to find time to take it to the dealer to get it fixed. Which does make me a bit upset. But other then that I really like it so far. It's a lot more upscale then my previous 2013 Honda CRV EXL. I am leasing my $45,000 QX30 for only $400 a month with no Money down so I got a really good deal on it partly because it was New Year's Eve. I didn't even have my heart set on a QX30 but after shopping around for quite a while on other SUVs this was one of the best deals. I got a quote for a fully loaded 2017 Ford Escape and a jeep Cherokee limited and they were both $410 a month. So overall for the Deal I got I am very happy so far with it. *Edit: The QX30 does not have push bottom start either. But you can buy the $35 GLA bottom and put it in the key slot. So if you buy the bottom then you don't need the keys at all to start it.*

love the video.. I am currently in between cars and this car is my favorite!! i am a little concerned with mpg because i might drive uber from time to time. My question is 2016 es or 2016 prius ? I know completely different levels but just curious on what your input would be
Easy answer, Lexus ES300h. I would check around with your local Lexus dealers and see if there are any deals on specific 300h models. Lots of time the hybrid models won't move as fast and so they're more likely to discount them more significantly than other cars. If you're limited to looking at ONLY the Prius and ES350, it all depends on how you're going to use the car. If you're going to be in the city for almost all your driving the Prius is the obvious answer due to its smaller footprint, much better MPG and superior maneuverability. Now if you're going to be on the highway for more than 50% of your driving, ES is the way to go. It will be much more stable at speed and won't be affected by as many crosswinds; all of which will add up to making the drive much more relaxing.
you are mentioning your dad in such a way that this car is only for elderly ....well let me tell you this i own this car and and a lexus nx too ...with the f sport ...to my surprise this one is everyones favourite ...smooth spacious and sporty ....
I have a 2013 altima and it is about to hit 100k and I bought the extended warranty so to make it worth the money I took it in to get inspected and they found $6000 worth of problems (transmission was bad, the AC compressor was not to working as it should and some control arms as well as motor mounts) all covered under the warranty 😅
From my observation, Toyota has always had a noticeable slight color mismatch with their bumpers on about 60% of their cars. Toyota is such a great car with exceptional quality, except for a few little quarks. The mismatched bumpers is one of them.
Can you get the computer or something reprogrammed so the engine doesn't shut off when you open the doors? Maybe go into the vehicle settings on your screen? Just saying..
