- Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden reviewed by Travis Northup on Xbox Series X, also available on PlayStation 5 and PC.
Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is a fun action game with a solid concept and a stellar paranormal investigation system. Its story about struggling to let go of loved ones in death is worth hearing, even when its pacing occasionally gets sluggish and indulgent. The combat system also tries some interesting new things that largely work out, only dragged down by poor enemy variety and wonky controls. Still, swapping between the corporeal and ghostly planes instantaneously is every bit as cool when solving mysteries as it is during fights, and the writing and characters help carry Banishers across its rougher patches. That made saying goodbye to them fittingly difficult, decaying flesh and all.

Vampyr was one of my favourite games and the combat was just alright as well. What was amazing was the world building and characters. I’ll be buying this asap.

1:10 crevice crawling is often a dev trick to slow the player down until the next area loads
In games like this, it also gives players a chance to slow down and be forced into an intimate dialogue interaction. Hence why all these games tend to be heavy on story.
Yeah it's a tired and overdone crutch lacking any quality of design.

Vampyr by them was the most atmospheric game i've played this generation. seeing how this is published and developed by the same company, i'm happy to give this a chance too :)

This really looks like GreedFall 2, I watched he entire trailer and couldn’t believe it wasn’t GreedFall 2. It’s not just the theme but the graphics style, gameplay style, even the monster design and mechanics

The 7 is a crime. Having AA game try something new and refreshing with somewhat technical stability and not broken like some AAA games. Easily deserves some praise. Your scores are so invalid.

In terms of the global games market (the money made, not the player count,) console gaming overtook PC gaming in 2022 where console gaming made $52.9 billion, and PC gaming only made $40.4 billion. PC isn't the only thing. Console gaming is equally legitimate and arguably bigger than PC gaming, depending on what metrics you use.

The story and subject matter lured me in as someone with an interest in ghost hunting and the paranormal. Although the game mechanics and puzzles are revisiting things I’ve seen and done in other games, I’m really enjoying it and can’t believe what a small team have created.

The reviewers closing statement of the game is not in line with the score he actually gives it. He makes it sound like an 8 but no surprise we get a 7.

No media outlet got review copies for that game, that's why it's taking longer for full fledged reviews to come out... and whoever released one already definitely did not have the time to properly play the game.

It was a very great game. My biggest criticism is that this game desperately needed to have a post story. The ending of the game was the worst part of the entire experience in my opinion and would have been made so much more fulfilling with some post story missions/dialogue.

This gane is excellent, don't force your values recognize where is exceptional quality in this beautiful RPG as adult, we need such games.IGN done great damage to one of the best games we ever played Days Gone who has not his own wife can't imagine quality of Days Gone, now again with excellent Banishers we love it, really enjoying. We don't believe IGN after Days Gone.
