At that price, people usually push further to 300k and 400k to buy Toyota Land Cruiser, or sameprice used Land Cruiser. Bottomline is Everest is not popular among most SUV lover here in Malaysia. Toyota, Mazda or BMW are the usual choices.
@@PistonMalaysia but the fortuner is a much more inferior vehicle. It does not even come with a full time 4wd. The ford is a more of a competitor to the prado. It's just that its a relatively new entry to the medium size offroad tourer segment.
@@Superior1979 Don't think so mate. The Prado is more expensive and is a step below the Land Cruiser, plus we only get recond units in Malaysia, no brand new units. The Fortuner and Everest share a common factor and that is both are built on the same chassis as their pick-up truck siblings. The Fortuner shares its chassis with the Hilux while the Everest shares its chassis with the Ranger, even the interiors are identical to the pick up trucks they are based on.
Theyre a popular ticking timebomb, for transmission failure before 70,000ks to EGR Coolers spliting and blowing up engine around 100,000ks, think twice about buying them or their counterpart the Ranger!!!

You are right. It is the pricing that is totally wrong. If it were priced liked the Fortuner, it would probably do better.

you never answered the question of why it's not very popular
you Video subject is misleading!! As it states no reason why is not popular/selling
In the video we explain that the import duties and the fact that it's not locally assembled might be contributing to its competitiveness.
Pricey
I see so many

I thought sdac ford removed the car from market
Still available. We just visited their showroom.
Price?
@@miarahim About RM250,000.
Rubbish
Lol, the price that I can buy cx9
Both are 7 seaters. But the Everest sits on the same frame as the Ranger, so the CX9 should be more comfortable.
