My mom in high school got a pep pal from Germany after WW2. When the Berlin Wall went up he was on the East German side but was still able to smuggle letters across the wall until the early 70’s. After the wall came down he reconnected with my mom, than came here to visit. Later my parents went to Germany to visit his family. Their pen pal correspondence went on for over fifty years❣️

I had no idea who that could be from, so thinking it must be a scam, said no,. Almost simultaneously I heard two voices: one was a child's voice, saying very excitedly in Spanish "Oh, I can hear it's Sarita!" and the other was the operator telling them in Spanish that the call wasn't accepted, and immediately disconnecting. I realized at once that my voice must have sounded like my daughter's and they must have thought that she was snubbing them after they had been so kind to her when she was staying with them. No way to fix this, and it still haunts me so many years later.

We had a pear tree before we moved and they were good even in the winter. We would get frozen pear's and enjoy them, we live in Oklahoma. The pear tree is long gone now and the house we moved out of with it but we certainly enjoyed it year round.

Years ago, my sister got a pet goat with its horns in tact. Unfortunately for me, I happened to get caught inside a small fenced area with it. As it was trying to ram into me, I was running around trying to escape, but couldn't get the lock to open. I'm only 5'0 tall, so I couldn't jump the fence. So I ended up being chased by a goat for twenty minutes before my dad saw me and came outside laughing. I like animals, but that experience made me nervous around goats lol

I live on a horse farm in Raleigh, NC. There's a pond full of fish, Bass,Brim,& Catfish! Nothing like sitting around the pond watching the ducks come in.

Are they cheaper than a hotel/motel? Obviously better cared for and cleaner. Loved the ones you showed us! Liz, I would love to stay at one of yours - but I never travel, so there's that LOL. I am a caregiver to a disabled person and a rescuer for stray and feral cats so I never go anywhere - but if I did, I'd definitely look up one of your places. I'm sure they are amazing and beautiful!
