    I absolutely love your videos and showing your techniques in detail work. I really enjoy your videos on the shadow/ contrast parts with all subjects you choose. I am learning so much and watercolor is very inspiring to me. Thank you 😊 so much for your you tube videos because they bring out your instruction and personality with it that truly is a peaceful and uplifting way of showing beautiful paintings! ❤

    I would love a book on how to paint detailed watercolor flowers! Exactly your style. I find watercolors books everywhere about how to paint LOOSE watercolor florals, but I'm having a lot of trouble finding a book about realistic style watercolor flowers

    This was an excellent summary tutorial. Books, yes, books would be very nice. Most useful as a series of smaller subjects, each with a workbook/journal for us to practice, record and build within. Little bites would preserve you and help us . I can think of several subjects in previous tutorials: mastering reds, Ukrainian folk art and your use of gouache, birds, pouring. I’m grateful that you share your gift. Thank you, you’ve enriched my life.

    Hi Anna! Answering your follow up question: Book explaining your techniques, showing examples of this technique in your work, followed up with guided exercise for previously explained technique and then tutorial using several techniques together. 👍🏻👏🏻🎨 📕 Looking forward to see what you will come up with.🤩

    Thank you, Anna! 🥰😍 I would buy your book if you published one. There are a lot of books on flower painting already, though. I would prefer one that had your processes in detail in it - including composition and preparation comprising of all the sujets you paint (birds!). You mentioned once, to use high contrast photos as references, for instance. Imho, the book should be on the large side with large prints of your beautiful work - a coffee table book. (Sarah Simblet's Botany for the Artist is such an example, that I have on my desk right now and of course, Billy Showel's books.) - A book is a lot of work, very time consuming, however, I can already imagine the beautiful book you would make in your unique style! 🤩😍🥰

      Yes! A book by Anna would take center stage. I like the large format as well. Art books by Sandrine Mugay are excellent and beautiful to look through and display.

    There are a lot of books out for beginners, and I think you do good job of explaining more intermediate and advanced techniques. I think a book that includes some beginner stuff, and also intermediate and advanced info would be great. It could be project-based, and each project includes a different focus on a skill, which is how you structure your patreon projects already. For example, June focused on the advanced wet on wet technique, and July looks like a lot of glazing and managing shadows in the complex flower shapes (I haven’t started it yet, but I’m excited to). I joined your patreon for the challenge and the learning, and I don’t see anyone else on TH-cam offering that level of instruction. It’s what makes you different.

    • @AnnaBucciarelli
      @AnnaBucciarelli  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thank you Sarah - I am happy to hear your point of view - that’s exactly how I feel in terms of beginner vs more intricate techniques. There is already a wealth of info in terms of beginner / foundational techniques and I don’t think I could add anything radically different or unique in that area. Delighted to hear that PATREON topic organization resonates - it’s how I think through every composition (in terms of main techniques to focus on) and I think this makes the most sense if I were to think of actionable chapters. Big thank you for your support! ❤️

      I agree. As an intermediate level artist I have grown passed beginner books and am ready to be challenged by advanced projects.

    @cyndih4720 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I say both. Lol! 🤭 I think I'd enjoy the specific a little more, like florals, birds, wildlife, etc. I think your techniques would still be conveyed in a book on a specific subject. I was just wondering not long ago if you were considering making a book. I'd definitely be in line to get it.

  • @renee1292
    @renee1292 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I like this Q & A format as we watch you paint. The combination is very helpful.
    As for a watercolor guide book. What works best for me is a series of tutorials with color palettes and step by step directions and process photos. Opening chapters on materials and specific techniques are also helpful but since I've been painting for several years I find I just browse through them. I don't need any more supplies LOL! For subject matter I prefer florals as that's 95% of what I paint. But birds as well are subjects for my art.
    Thanks for all your generous help and support.
    I hope your family is doing well with all the turmoil.

    I think a variety of subjects would be good for a book, though you could do one on birds, one on flowers, one on fish, one on animals, etc 😘 I think you have so many videos out, not necessarily is another beginners book needed. Certainly composition, choosing colours, techniques used are always invaluable, good luck and looking forward to seeing what you choose

    I will definitely be in line 1st to buy your book!
    I think you are such an Amazing Talented Successful Woman to look up to - even though I am older than you! Ha ha
    I agree with others that a basic beginners book there are just so many out there that I don’t think we need another one!
    I would enjoy seeing your book as a more advanced book and in it I would like to see the same sorts of things that you put on your TH-cam! Like the process you use the techniques you use the way you fix errors the the special colors you use! The bright colors that you use definitely make you stand out from the crowd! also your illustrations are unique and impressive! Having some of your drawings in the book for step-by-step tutorials would be wonderful!!
    And yes I do like the Q&A style once a month would be perfect just to update us on any new products that may turn out to be your favorite and why! Also answering questions like techniques because usually if a couple people are asking I’m sure there are a whole lot more that wonder the same thing but don’t ask!
    I am excited for you and I’ve seen how you have grown since you first started on Skillshare and your TH-cam channel you have really come alive and we’ve gotten to know who you are and how are you do what you do i’m truly grateful that you like to teach and share your knowledge with us!
    Thank you!

    Yes to the book! I borrowed many watercolor books from library and feel like they are all the same-very beginner focused. I think you’re the only artist that shares more in depth information. We would love more about negative painting, compositions, flowers+birds but also surprise additions that make compositions more interesting like when you added little snail or butterfly. Background or no background? Textures, warm and cool colors within composition. Blended shadows vs hard shadows, high contrast reference vs low contrast. And so much more! And huge photographs of your work! 😍 and signed copy for this student hihi

    Anna, a book by you is a wonderful idea, hopefully one that will come to fruition soon! You are an amazing artist as well as instructor/teacher. I have learned so much thru your TH-cam channel and especially your Patreon lessons. I was extremely impressed recently with the informing you shared regarding when to add pigment into wet paper, when to wait and the different outcomes with each stage of wetness. It was like the clouds parted and the sun burst thru in terms of my understanding your process. I have purchased mostly books with strong emphasis on florals as that is my favorite subject. Gardening is my other love in terms of how I spend my creative time. However I have been blown away by your bird, animal and insect pieces and find myself looking at them quite often. A book from you with all of these offerings would be excellent. Count me in as a buyer!! Thanks so much for making your skills so available and enjoyable to watch.
    P.S......I love the idea of signed copies. I'm down for that too!

    This was brilliant. Thank you so much for the details on the Chronos. I've ordered my first yesterday (probably not my last!). As for the book. I think you would do very well wiith one. Especially if you covered things like processes, composition, painting techniques wiith examples that are not to difficult so that the reader can put into practice what they learn.

    Interesting that I have used Escoda forever and the Chronos isn’t available at Blick’s in the States. The blend has me for sure and I have used the versátil, reserva, and Óptimo but would love to try the 6# down. Maybe it is at another art supply store in the US if someone would let me know that would be awesome. Your paintings are gorgeous!😊

    I would also love to see a book from you! My thoughts are along the same line as Sarah in Color Art’s comments. Something less beginner and more intermediate friendly to advanced would be a nice change! Maybe some in depth ideas about composition creation to then combine with more intermediate and advanced watercolor techniques. No matter which direction you decide to go with publishing a book, I will definitely be purchasing one!
    I started following you on TH-cam and was happy to find you on SkillShare as well. In about an hour, I plan to become a member of your Patreon group. 🙈
    Your watercolor work is beautiful and your work on coins for the Royal Canadian Mint is fascinating!

    You had mentioned prior about no longer using ultramarine blue because of its granulation. I can’t remember the brands but there are a couple brands that do not granulate. If I remember I will post it

      Schmincke Horadam Ultramarine Finest doesn't granulate, but is nowhere near as fine as a phthalocyanine - like a PB16, for example, or PB15s and their variants.
