I just tuned in to check out what you were doing and I have to say your work is impeccably beautiful and lovely and you've got a lovely voice and your lovely to listen to and it's just been a lovely experience and so I want to say thank you
Thank you so much! That’s so kind and thoughtful and means a great deal to me. So glad you enjoyed the video and hope you have many more happy moments with us in the future ❤️❤️❤️
I absolutely love this 4 hours of whimsical landscape painting!! I hope you do more of whimsical paintings and definitely another 4 hours of it. Super happy to be watching this!!! Thank you!!
Aww Diana your so lovely and have a beautiful heart and we all feel like lying in a dark room, but you have to know you bring alot of beautiful light to so many of us and I probably speaking for a lot of us who follow you and your wonderful art work.
I do admire your ability to talk and paint at the same time. I am usually drawn so much when I am paintin so I can't do anything else at the same time. You have such calming and relaxing attitude to the art, that makes all of us feeling that we REALLY can do it as well. Thanks for the encouraging and the inspiration!
I literally fall asleep to your videos. Not because you're boring but because you're so calming!!! And I have issues falling asleep so what a blessing!!! Also love them when I'm awake!
Hi Diane, I absolutely love your long tutorials. I often learn so much. It's amazing how you can doodle in a village like you did. The one thing today that I took away was the treasure chest idea for when your old an cannot remember all that you have done in your life. Your amazing!
I spend a lot of time in bed because of back surgery and arthritis. I listen to your videos while drawing or painting too. Just wanted you to know I answer you when you ask a question. I tell my husband when the dog , Lottie is snoring and the rooster, Gabriell is crowing. We have a jungle at our home, 6 parrots, a Yorkie, and a tom cat. Love your animal rescues. God Bless. Dawn from Alabama USA
I'm still on the magical fall forest. I was surprised when you said you didn't like it, but then you made it even better! 😊 I am really drawn to the whimsical/folk and loose type paintings, and your paintings and ideas are very inspirational for me! These types of paintings are especially exciting, because each time they will turn out completely different. And you can even play around with different color combinations. I have the Kuretake Art Nouveau set (which I waited six months for) but I think I need to order more - probably the single pans, if I can get them. I've noticed you are doing lots of art with Kuretake in the last several months.
I also listen to you when I’m painting, even if I’m not following a video tutorial. Your voice is very relaxing and I love the banter. Erika from Northern Territory, Australia 🇦🇺
My favorite painting you did was the one of where you lived!! It looked like so much fun!!! I have really enjoyed watching these long videos while I am painting. Thank you so much for teaching us so many different styles!!!!
I love watching old movies. Especially the black and white ones. They have amazing composition. And you on TH-cam, you can freeze a frame and do a quick sketch. ❤
I really love listening to you.. I sat in the car waiting for my parents. You must of had such an interesting life since then … I have recruited more people to you on utube. … I am so glad I’m not alone in my memory’s . Thank you Diane
Just seeing your older vid here and enjoying it. ☺️I often do a lot of of mix between "abstract" and realistic in my art work. Really abstract can be anything that isn't realism. I decided I would just call mine "stylized" and I think that's a better description for what I do. Thanks, Diane.
Love this painting. Colors are so pretty and just a perfect picture for the fall! Such great colors. Thank you for inspiring me to use these paints. You're such a fantastic master artist. Hugs and good health always to you.
So cool to hear the AF fly over! I’m new to your channel. Just started watercolors a while ago at the age of 69. Oh gosh! So many tool I don’t have. Slowly but surely I will build up my collection. (Fixed income). 🤪🤪 I love doing whimsical! ❤️ Love from the 🇺🇸
We could buy the book but, we would need you anyway. Your voice, your stories, your reality, the rooster, YOUR whimsy, and the encoura 2:35:01 gement; to say the least ❤😊
I love whimsical art ... I'm going to bed soon, but in the morning I plan to return to this incredible video (I skimmed through it tonight). Thank you for sharing this.
Diane, I always love watching your videos from sketch to finished projects, and how you use watercolor, paint pens, markers ect.. So many great ideas! Also, your long videos are great ASMR videos to relax and fall asleep to. I even put your videos on for my dog to listen to if I have to run out of the house. We live in an apartment and it relaxes her while we are out!!
I love doing this kind of art where whatever happens happens. It's the most relaxing. I draw random lines and curves and see what it looks like, thicken some lines and colour in whatever I see in it.
I clicked on a video just browsing through water color whatevers and little.dud.I realize I was getting deep into thought and rather enjoying myself before realizing I had been watching for.something like an hour. and there are still.2 hours to to! Wonderful work, very engaging. I do enjoy a good whimsical painting
Just discovered you. I much prefer to create whimsical art in all sorts of media myself. I can do more realistic, I just really enjoy playful and fun for my own creations. Thank you for sharing your wonderful work ❤
Welcome to the channel Cassandra! So glad you found us. I’ve got a huge mixture of whimsical and more realistic tutorials - nearly 900 of them not including the shorts! - so hopefully you’ll enjoy exploring our catalog - plus we do have a facebook group and a Patreon membership as well. Happy painting!
What a great collection, Diane, thank you so much! The whimsical landscape around 2:27 got me to subscribe to your channel. And the cats and, sheep. 😍🤗💕
Hi Diane. If you are comfortable, could you share good memories from your childhood? I love hearing you tell stories and the world of our childhood is gone. Thanks.
After watching this, I got my sketchbook out to practice inking whimsical cows & sheep, then ended up creating a scene inspired by yours. Then I thought - I might as well color it. Being on mixed media paper, didn’t want to full on watercolor, so I tried a few select Tombow markers - then realized I could waterbrush-blend those. The evolution of art. 😂 It’s not my best work, but It was a great exercise, and I had fun. Thank you for the inspiration ❤ (would share the work but I can’t figure out how to share in the comments)
I absolutely love your style. I am just starting out with watercolors and I am trying to figure out IF I have a style!!! I really enjoy your paintings and take a lot of inspiration from them.
I really love your whimsy type paintings. This was so cute to me. I promised myself to paint along with you one day soon. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, the "conversation" and your delight in creating art. Much gratitude. 😊❤
I have been trying these types of paintings recently and been enjoying them. I will now be trying a loose-colored background without really thinking of the drawing/doodling to come. Thanks for your fun paintings and for sharing your thoughts and knowledge. Have an awesome day!
3:55:32 I am laughing at your dog, but only because when I heard this, I looked at my own dog snoring away on the floor with his tongue hanging out of his mouth as well and was wondering if it was going to make him wake up. It didn’t. 😂😂
I also love listening to you and enjoy your life stories so relaxing. This helps me relax and get into painting so much easier. I enjoyed The Forsyte Saga series that was made in 2002. I will have to check out the older series. I downloaded the first book on my kindle to read thought why not give the book a try if I liked the series. I am going to be buying a Meeden 33 well palette with cover. I am thinking about purchasing the Gansi Tambi Art Nouveau set love the colors and watching you paint with them. Any enough of my rambling. Thank you for these encouraging videos. Have a wonderful day.
I listen to you all the time. Im loving this pictures, I love your husband, chickens, and all that goes on and you say nothing and just keep paintings real-time like when you show you farm ❤❤thank you for all you du❤
Diane, THANK YOU so much for stating the obvious to all except those in the middle of it! Pouring paint in different consistencies then tipping it from side to side (or spinning it on a lazy susan) may be a pleasing look to some, but it is NOT art!! It is a craft! When someone does it for the first time then asks others, " How much can I sell this for?", that's a big clue! If one likes it, go ahead & enjoy yourself, but it is not art! As a teen in the late 1970s, I worked in a craft store: 90% macrame supplies. I taught adults 2 nights per week and children on Saturday morning. I was very good and fast at it, people wanted theirs to look like mine. But not for a minute did I think it was art! It was a craft: a great and enjoyable craft, but that was it! I used to sew many of my babies clothes, now do it for my grandbabies. I'm very pleased with the outcome, I know I could sell them (taking the joy away) but not for a minute do I think they are art! I am pleased with my handiwork...my craft! I make silver jewelry: bending, hammering, dabbing with flux and torching: another craft I enjoy immensely. Now, after 30+ years, I'm trying my hand at watercolors again.... it's been way too long since my high-school art studio!! I'm enjoying this artistic journey! I usually have TH-cam set to auto, and I get a great mix of podcasts, watercolor painting, live classic rock & roll performances, & a bit of news. I don't know why, but I've been getting more than random amounts of "paint pouring!" Don't know how to get it out of the algorithm of my feed, but am annoyed at everyone and their sister posting the exact same repetitive video, thinking they've just created the wheel and "their" wheel IS art lol! Thanks for letting me vent!! That felt so good!😁
I woke up with my tv still on at the last painting hearing your calming voice.. at first, looking at the painting, I thought it was a bit of a joke..even wanted to put a comment like, "so everyone can teach us painting now, this is nonsense", (Im so sorry, but bare with me) however... although I did not like the last painting, I did get intrigued seeing the merch right beneath the video and scrolled back to the beginning of the video. I gotta say your work grew on me an it has a very playful charm. So I stand corrected (hope my English comes across like I actually mean, im not native to it and also just try to give an honest take on how I experienced it). I subscribed and actually really love your work and especially the way you talk during painting. Thank you for sharing these videos with us and I definitelywas wrong and learned to not judge so quickly. You have a special playful talent, which is very inspiring actually 😊🧡

Never too old as long as your hands and brain cooperate with each other! That’s what I tell myself…

This is so wonderful Diane! I love the long playing sessions you post for us to get 'more of you ' 🥰
I am really drawn to the whimsical/folk and loose type paintings, and your paintings and ideas are very inspirational for me!
Dear Diane I'm an art teacher from Iran, I use your amazing paintings and ideas to teach my students. ❤❤❤❤

I love how your whimsical painting turned out with the houses and trees, its my favorite style of art 🙂
My favorite painting you did was the one of where you lived!! It looked like so much fun!!! I have really enjoyed watching these long videos while I am painting. Thank you so much for teaching us so many different styles!!!!
I think it's a very harmonious and joyful painting. Your stories of the North Yorkshire moors brought back many memories too.
I love watching old movies. Especially the black and white ones. They have amazing composition. And you on TH-cam, you can freeze a frame and do a quick sketch. ❤
I absolutely love it. It’s just because of your mood today love. It’s really good.
I'm so glad! Thanks so much!

Oh that abstract one on rough paper is really nice!
Милая Диана!!! Это просто волшебство наблюдать за вашим Творчеством, погружающим нас в мир прекрасного, а порой- в мир детства! Спасибо!!!!❤

“Quite a long hairy bit” love it…referring to the brush. Love the accent and calmness of your videos. Will get out my kuretake set
😊 thank you
Yes, definitely just continuing on causes our creativity to open up more!
Absolutely!!
The addition of the simple background trees was brilliant and pulled the whole thing together. In my ‘umble opinion that is. ❤️❤️
Thanks Marion, so glad you liked it!

I’m just being modest. Typical Brit I’m afraid!
I miss my metal roof . Love the sound of the rain on a metal roof plus the metal roofs last a long time .
Oooh, it’s so loud! I have noise-cancelling headphones for the worst days!
You’re reminding me of Homer Simpson saying “ trying is the first step to failure” 😊 ✌️❤️
LOL, he didn’t mean it and nor would I!
I love it!!
These are beautiful can I buy one please?
