- The Pond Prowler 8 is one of the most versatile boats on the market because of it's ability to customize and build from the ground up for a low cost. This video goes over EVERY boat modification on my rig, plus a little extra. Hope y'all enjoy, and good luck on the water!

Your video helped me so much, love that anchor lock, changed my entire fishing experience lol
Had one back in the 90s. My son and i used to take it out all the time.
Countless fish we caught on that thing. Towed it with a cheap harbor freight 4×8 trailer.
Yours is the amazing, but a simple one is a blast as well. ✌️
I enjoy customizing my kayak and I’m thinking F getting one of these boats next. I recommend putting a hook to hold your orange fish hook box or a tray under the seat because under the seat is wasted space. Also, is install straps or a hook so you can hang the yellow titan cold fish bag to the back of the seat. I wouldn’t like anything left in the floor. Lastly, I’d open the factory installed drain plug and install a piece of pvc pipe with nut and bolt to hold the fishing net. That would be perfect ❤😊
@@briancherry940 Those are great ideas! Appreciate it, I’ve been wanting to do something under the seat for awhile
Got mine about a month ago. Went with the 10 footer so my boys can go out with me. Watched all your videos before purchasing lol. Great content! Definitely inspired watching your videos. Keep up the great work and ready for your next one.
Thank you good luck! Go get em
And yet Another Great informative Vdeo
Thanks for vid I got a bass hound 9.4 can’t decide what motor to buy but this for sure will help me decide
I have a video on which Minn Kota motor you should get based on your needs, I’d check it out👍🏽
Good looking setup right there
Thank you!
Great videos! I finally got my Sundolphin Sportsman 8 ft legal and got it out for the first time on Labor Day. I had a fairly easy time getting it into the water but like an idiot I chose a steep boat ramp and getting it back out was a pain. I built a dolly. It's basically a small piece of 2x6 with 2 10 inch tires bolted to it from Harbor Freight. It has 2 rings bolted and I ratchet strap it after I pull the first 2 feet off the bed of the truck. I threw away my cheap ratchet straps the next day and invested in some retractable Rhino USA ratchet straps and took it back out today but launched from a flat ramp that hardly any big boats use and WOW what a difference. Still got my feet wet getting it out but if anyone reads this and is about to take a maiden voyage BUY RETRACTABLE RATCHET STRAPS! I still want a couple metal plates like you use on your downrigger. I'll take your advice and check for a local metal workshop. I'm paranoid about putting any holes in the boat. I'm using the rod holders you used last year and my fish finder transducer mount is Scotty but I use the rail mount instead of screwing it to side. Have you noticed any leakage around the seams? I'm wondering if I should caulk around the seams. I do have a MinnKota Endura 40 lb pushed by a LiTime 100ah lithium battery and love it. I bought a rudder attachment because I use it in the back but haven't installed it yet. According to my Garmin I was hitting 2.75 mph against the wind and 3.5 mph with the winds help. Anyways, I look forward to more videos
I don’t think I have any leakage yet, but I also use a special marine sealant around any holes! I have a link to it in the description
For your net you could take another rod holder and then take and make up a piece of pvc that will fit inside it that you can take out when you need to use the rode holder
Rudder is smart, I’m going to do that too
How well do screws hold in the plastic do you recommend any glue or adhesive to fasten or seal the screw holes on the rod holders to the boat.
Yup! I use a sealant to cover the holes to keep it waterproof and strong. Link to the sealant is in the description!
Great vid! Question: how are you getting those screws to hold into the plastic, without a nut on the other side? Is drilling into the plastic with a wood screw enough? thanks! Nice job!
Just a screw and some marine sealant gets the job done! Haven’t had one pull out yet
Thanks, man! @@humbugvideos
Quick question about the Anchor Line Retractor in your items list. I am currently using Paracord for my anchor. I think you said you replaced the line that comes with the clothesline. Was that easy to do?
Yah, just don’t let go of the cord cause it will undo the spring in there. Learned that the hard way lol
What hardware are you using to mount all this stuff into the thin plastic? Riv nuts ???
Most Scotty mounts come with screws for it, I just went to the hardware store and picked up ones that looked similar to those. Not sure on exact sizing
Would you say that a pond prowler 10 would fit on top of a standard car?
Not sure on the 10. The 8 does easy tho
Great video! I have the same boat and trolling motor. If you ever get a chance could you show how you wired the motor in the front. I have used a few of your mods. Appreciate it.
I may be rewiring everything next spring, I may do a video covering all of it then!
Would someone be able to put a Bimini top on as well?
@@terrywilliams5569 I’ve looked into it, and it turns out u can! For me it would just get in the way too much
love this video. but the bad thing is Bass Pro is back order on the 8fft pond pro. i am getting a harbor freight ttrailer also.. how about a video on the grear that your trolling for trout and koc. would be greeat......keeep them videos coming.
It depends on where you are, the store near me had one in stock last week. There’s some others too, Bass Raider, etc. Maybe I’ll do a video on my trolling gear!
hook a PVC "T" up to the rutter, when it goes down. it could have something on that pvc "handle" to hold your net?
like instead of the plug on end put and adapter bushing to a larger T and the net could rest thru that when its down..
@@tradingnewb woah…dude your a genius. That’s literally perfect
@@humbugvideos just innovating
what you already made :D
FYI bass pro has the extra seats for the pond prowlers for sale for around $120
I’ll go check it out!
You can also buy the seat bracket if your using different seats
Let’s go humbug first
Aye ayeeee
@@humbugvideosI’m thinking about upgrading to a lithium battery
@@413fishing6 Amped Outdoors marine 100 AH. You’ll never look back dude
Does that requires boat license?
Yes, each state is different though
