For everyone wondering why I didn’t just buy a premade rudder from Amazon, that totally works too! I just noticed that they don’t come in very large sizes, however if u don’t like making things and just want it prebuilt they’re a great option. Hope this clears some stuff up!
An absolute must add on. Great job. I went lazy; purchased the bracket and a Bullnose ruder which is designed just for this purpose. Adds a little more to the cost but makes it a super easy project. Great job. The homemade rudder will probably be more effective because of the size. However; the Bullnose rudder does work just fine.
Hey I just wanted to say, you got some of the best and informative videos. I recently saw some of your videos from the jetty at Doran. Lots of good tips!
Bro I love your videos, I actually copied your build for the whole boat and I AM LOVING IT, Keep it up, I will always be a supporter and THANKS for this videos
Love your videos. FYI, 0.25 amps over 10 hours is only 2.5 amp hours. That isn't much power to worry about, unless you are really stretching the limits of your battery.
2 things please. Great video! Are you interested in making some of them and selling them because I would but it. 2 do you use any shallow water anchors like those stick pin anchors?
Probably won’t sell em, however if u don’t wanna make one they sell smaller ones on Amazon for $20-40. I don’t think they’ll hold as well but will still work for sure!
The one thing that I would do to improve the rudder is ro put a radius on those sharp corners just to save wear and tear on your hide and anything that the rudder might he stored with qhen traveling.
I was wondering why my pond prowler did thay when i had thw trolling motor up front.. i never heard anyone bring up that problem so i was wondering if it was my trolling motor 🤔
To much explaining going on we know how a screw works if we own a boat already . Lol you like to talk i know but maby you wife would like a brake . Sorry but im funny in the morning . Later i get nasty . So you lucked out today lol

@@williamcotton8746 Since this video I have actually went with a bullnose too. May do an update in the future. Thanks for the comment!
Been waiting for this video!! The tailspin is GNARLY on this boat!! So this has been something I have been interested in!
It helps BIGTIME, totally recommend it!
New sub in the house. Job well done buddy👍🏽

Appreciate it! Miss that jetty big time
You can buy a metal rudder that clamps onto your trolling motor shaft.
Dude that last crappie was a monster!
That’s genius! I love making diy stuff, too. Only way to get it exactly what you want.
Damn dude boats came along way! Sick ride
Appreciate it!

That's awesome! Glad you enjoyed. Much more builds and mods coming soon!
Does the boat spin when anchored? And does this rudder help with that?
It will spin when anchored but only if the wind is pushing it. Rudder helps much more when the boat is moving in a straight line
Did you know you can buy a rudder for the troll motor shaft? I mean nice mod but what do you use for mic. That's perfect sound.
Problem with a lot of the rudders online is that they are really small, the one I made is over double the size of the biggest one I could find
@@humbugvideos they work on my 17 ft bass boat.

All I have for shallow water anchors are double river anchors to lock me in place. May be making some DIY power poles in the future tho!

Good point! I may be doing an update video this year on some new prototypes, so this is good into. Thanks👍🏽

Ty ou could use a heat gun to flatten the PVC and that would make it more streamlined.
Smart!
With a heat gun and patience you can bend the acrylic to go around the pipe no cutting and you save the soon to rust clamps
Great idea! So far no rust on em so far but it’s bound to happen
Round the corners on the plexiglass
Why not just mount the motor on the back
@@stevec2814 Because when I’m bass fishing I want to move from the front, much easier than on the back!
