Playing this game again now in 2023, first time I had like 100+ hours into it and after watching videos , ive missed so many things and boss fights etc. Going back into this beautiful world ❤ I think this and Syndicate are the best AC games ive played.
Personally I absolutely loved Black Flag but this is decent. I'm at level 47 atm and have barely touched the main quest, instead I've took out grinding out all of the cultists

Just dove in again (2024) I’d put in a few hours right after launch and wandered off - partly because I didn’t really get good at video games till the pandemic and lockdown, TBH. But I just decided to reload and restart Odyssey instead of buying a new game, and I am so glad I did! I’m completely obsessed. Definitely taking your advice to take my time with this game because I want to be playing it for a long time - and it looks like I would have to anyway! Great video thanks New subscriber here.
This is the kind of game you only get to experience for the first time once. It pulled me in and won't let go. I have to get back to my life but I can't turn it off!
This is definitely a game that can take over your life 😅 sometimes I wish I could erase my favourite games from my mind and play them again for the first time
I hate level scaling, ruined so many games for me. I remember being level 80+ in Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion and bringing a giant claymore down on top of a citizen head only for them to slide back a little and call for help.
@@eugene4995 no . Level scaling as a concept is dumb because it removes the reason to level up . The best way is to have specific regions with set levels so you can actually feel progression once you go back to the starting areas and destroy enemies that used to feel like tanks . I played odyssey as Alexios first then finished the game and replayed it like Kassandra.. I liked it so much that I played it for a third time as Kassandra and played all the DLC’s.. not my favorite AC game but one of my favorite open world games ever!
The upgrading equipment every time you level up is terrible advice and will waste a ton of resources. For a start, armour def stats don't really matter all that much, it's the perks you want. I literally took on level 80s with level 30 armour, but the perks were awesome for crit and assassin damage. Also, you only ever pay for 5 levels at the blacksmith when upgrading. So if you're upgrading a piece if equipment from say level 10 to level 50, you'll only pay for the last 5 levels. I don't upgrade any equipment until it's at least 15 levels behind my current level. And if you upgrade it every level, you're paying for every level. A complete waste of resources. The only thing to really concentrate on is your 2x weapon of choice and the bow because the DPS is really important. Even so, I don't upgrade until they're about 10 levels below mine. Make sure to upgrade the spear as soon as possible too. It makes assassinations much easier. Don't horde the shards for the forge and do them all at once. And don't waste too many resources on your ship straight off the bat. Better to have upgraded weapons than the ship until you have some extra resources. I'd also recommend hoarding as many gear items as possible. Leave yourself only a few slots free for every mission, because the higher level you get the more resources you get back when you sell or dismantle them. You get nothing for them when you're low level. Make use of your ship's storage box when your inventory gets full. Really, too many people waste so many resources in this game. 😅
Nice run through. There are many haters of this game, but I've had 150+ hours of fun in it. Yes it's huge, but as you noted take your time and enjoy the journey. As far leveling up never been an issue, as life pick your fights to win
Almost spoiled it there for me 11:36 but I won't let that ruin the amazing work you've done. I just started this game like a week a go and I'm having a blast

@@Ellie81998 so I stand corrected. Apparently there was an update for only series X/S and PS5 including a high frame rate boost. Im playing Odyssey on xbox ONEX, damn.
Should be noted, to achieve 60fps at 4K on a capable, correctly configured Smart TV with latest console (Xbox Series X for sure; maybe Ser S; prob PS 5) also requires connection via HDMI 2.1 cable. Included with XBSX, though very short, which can cause end to break if tugged too hard (ahem). I’ve discovered the importance of cables (and much more) during the steep learning curve after recently getting an XBSX & my first ever smart TV at once.

100% agree with the first point. I made that mistake with Valhalla where i was concentrating on finishing it abcd ended up resenting it. I played it again a year later at a much slower pace and enjoyed it much more.
4:51... I would disagree with that, namely because every level you get a perk point and you can spend those perk points on stats and chance boosts, hitting the level where you can spend perks on stats and spending 5 levels worth of perks to gain 10% more crit chance or 10% more spear or sword or warrior damage really adds up and allows you to specialize your playstyle whether that be a poison build or fire build or bow build or crit build it all makes a difference, it just doesn't unlock till mid game.

After putting quite a few hours in I totally agree. The level scaling destroys the game, removing any reason to level up and indeed play the game. It should have been like Fallout 4 for example. That and the fight mechanics, plus the bad voice acting, ,has made me give this a miss. Such a shame. Of course the reason for the former is to encourage micro transactions. The search for the perfect game continues.
Kassandra's voice acting is great but Alexios is poor...and NPCs are stereotypically Ubisoft 2D "please save my husband, he's been kidnapped" 🤣 it's definitely worth playing though, for the beauty of the world alone
@@Amalgamingle I enjoyed FC 6 myself after giving it another shot. It to is just like other FC games. But more action. Super repetitive but there is a way to play without being repetitive. Same. There's so much to see and do in this game. It's truly Ubisoft's overlooked masterpiece, despite its flaws. I would love to see an upscale for PS5, it would be amazing 🤩 - Heather
This is more a review than a tips video.
I let the baby die and went after chrysis😂
Who the hell hates AC Odyssey? ......
The game is AWESOME!!!!
I wish Ubisoft would release more content about it.
these tips r fine but im not listening to a kid tbh
A kid? I'm 34...I'm a mother 😂 how old are u? 😄
This and Valhalla are so repetitive.
They can feel that way after continuous play but they're not as bad as Far Cry games when it comes to repetition haha
@@Amalgamingle true. But I dig far cry but only certain ones
@@Venomn1 Same. I still haven't played Far Cry 6 yet though, its part of my epic backlog :(
@@Amalgamingle I enjoyed FC 6 myself after giving it another shot. It to is just like other FC games. But more action. Super repetitive but there is a way to play without being repetitive. You get a helicopter. Forget what you call it. It's tiny. I use it to get chests and only do missions to progress. It's a vast world to checkout also. Probably larger than all others
i never use that horse like at all
This is bad advice. You should just be using whatever weapon is best until you hit higher levels. Then you engrave what you and THEN upgrade
