Its extremely good. I'm currently playing it and it is without a doubt one of the most beautiful games I have ever played. The combat takes some getting use to because it isnt the same as Origins, but you pick it up really quickly and it's fun AF. The story is actually pretty decent and there are clear tie ins to the Assassins and Templars and POE. So many people have said this isnt AC, (of course none of them can back the statement up, I've tried to get them to) but the game does make a name for itself within the franchise. I will say it takes a while to level up, the side quests though all unique, most are kinda bland. And the lip sync is wack. Otherwise I dont really have any other complaints about this game.
All I'd want to do is just to stroll along and take in the views in a walking pace. But that's the one fucking thing you apparently can't do in this or any other modern open world game. Walking... the most basic of all features and for some fucked up reason you can't.
Yeah it really is awesome. And by the sounds of what Ubisoft have been saying it's going to be like Origins where it gets regular updates and fixes. So this game will get even better. I've been seeing the comparison with Witcher but honestly, i'm enjoying it faaaar more. The story is just so much more interesting to me than the Witcher's was and the world is much bigger and better to explore.
@@FromDkWithLove You can walk lol. Just dont push the analog stick all the way up. I'm constantly just walking around and taking in the beauty of the game.
@Matt Damon Yeah, a friend of mine told me the same thing just today in fact. I'm on PC though. We don't get no sticks or an option to toggle walking on or off. There is no justice.
Another reason to pick the Spartan kick early on is that the kick itself is non-lethal, which can be used to knock mercenaries unconscious and recruit them afterwards.
Takedowns on civilians and soldiers doesn't count towards your bounty gauge when people in public sees you. On Spartan kicking enemies into obstructions can kill them, so hope they land on the ground rather than a table.
The spartan kick is also useful when you are fighting NPC’s that are a much higher level than you are 👍🏻 you just kick them off a high ledge and gravity does the hard work for you 😁👌🏻
John McGovern I totally cheesed the first mercenary to hunt you when you’re level 3 and he’s 5. Kicked him off a ledge, all fall damage is an instant kill to enemies as long as it’s barely high enough to cause damage. It’s either all or nothing
It is, after killing a certain character I got charged by his highly trained relative. Luckily for me, we were on a cliff and that fight took me about 3 seconds. Best fight I've ever had
So useful during boarding a ship of pirates and hoplites. It's even funny to look at them being kicked off their trireme and fall on the waters. Sharks also drag them.
I had that happen I killed them all that shit was stressful two more came at me while I was walking but I had to go to work in the real world that's my mission In the morning hunting both down and gutting them i remember what those fuckers names were 😂
This game is a must buy. I bought the spartan collection and have been playing it since launched at midnight early on oct 2. I’m already over level 30 and have played almost 35 hours. Here is some of my experience playing and some tips on getting the most out of yours: -Which difficulty? +I picked hard difficulty and haven’t changed it. I’m used to playing games on easy or medium difficulties so i can enjoy the campaign without getting frustrated of dying over and over again. For this game I didn’t just want to walk through this game without some kind of challenge and picking hard was a good choice for me. If you want to feel like a god and not be punished for not dodging or parrying at the right time then play easy. Medium is a little tougher than easy. Hard is not as unforgiving as nightmare but you will actually need to be very focused during combat with mercs or large groups of people, don’t expect to win against large groups all targeting you from all around you. You will need to move around and use the environment to your advantage (climb on top of a tall building and sparta kick enemies off of it so that gravity does its magic. I really feel that hard is the right setting as i feel like when i died it was from a preventable error on my part. I really want to give nightmare a try as it seems pretty challenging. -Which to pick, Alexios or Kassandra? +I personally picked Alexios but kinda wished i had picked Kassandra because my expectations going in to playing Alexios was that he would speak like the amazon Alexios skill does (ruthless greek mercenary voice with plenty of dark humor). -Don’t skip side quests +The amount of side quests are really overwhelming but you should still do at least 2 or 3 in between Odyssey quests. Remember that the game isn’t a race to who can finish first. Take your time to enjoy this great masterpiece. The greek world you play in has 27 different regions for you to explore and discover. Each region has something different going on, so take the time to do those side quests. There are many side quests that can be acquired from characters that were in an odyssey quest and i highly suggest doing those first as they are very unique and often are tied to the current situation of a region you are in. -Don’t accept every single quest +I highly recommend keeping your accepted quests list short. You will feel very overwhelmed if you just accept everything. Try only accepting quests that you will finish. I currently have about 40 quests sitting in my log book that i accepted at the message boards of all the regions i visited. I am not going back to those regions to do those quests since i want to keep exploring the greek world. Since there is no way to unaccept a quest (from the best of my knowledge), be wary of what you accept. -Blacksmith/Upgrading +The blacksmith cost for upgrading your gear is really high. For early gameplay i suggest just equipping items for their stats not looks. When you get that nice gear that you want to keep as you rank up, you will recognize that you have to upgrade it. A legendary sword can do less damage than a common sword that is 3-4 levels higher (excluding engravings). The problem is that upgrading costs a bunch of materials and drachmae. I suggest that if you want to upgrade your gear you should dismantle all the gear u dont use, in order to get materials. Drachmae is really easy to come by through many different ways. -Grind at sea +The loot from boarding ships is pretty good. You can get a bunch of resources and gear from looting the chests after you deal with the enemies. -Save +Save the game often, you can press F5 on pc for a quick save, otherwise make sure to do a save overwrite every hour or so. Also if you are attacking a giant enemy fortified location make sure to come out of combat to save at least once so u dont lose all ur process from dying. -RPG choices +Don’t feel like you have to follow any certain dialogue style. Yes certain dialogue can have certain consequences but the best thing about odyssey is that you almost NEVER know which dialogue has a supposedly negative outcome. Play it how you want to.
People don't seem to understand a point about fashion in the game. You can always equip a set of gear of which stats you like and then just change it's looks just as they did with for honor but for free. All you have to to is to own the armor you want to have as looks. Doesn't matter if you sold it because it remains saved in the "Looks" menu. So you don't need to look like a washed up peasant all the time.
It's the other way around with me. Half the game I was using Ezio set for it's bonuses, but looking like some bandit, cause ACB looks were too out of place. 😁
LOL why would you try nightmare XD even at Medium difficulty those chickens and roosters are crazy high damage like they get half your health with just 3-4 hits
Both skills seem handy, I hate enemies with shields so I will likely get the skill to grab shields, but if the Spartan kick helps slow down groups from all attacking me at once, that would be a good option too, especially if I can kick them long enough to knock them out and recruit them to my ship fleets.
x iiRated no the game is awful. Play literally any other AC game and get the experience of playing as an actual ASSASSIN!!! There are no Assassins, no Templars, and no joy. Shit game
FingBing Who are the Assassins? Alexios and Kassandra are mercenaries. The Creed didn’t exist this whole clusterfuck of shite is set 300 YEARS before Bayek founded the Brotherhood. The animations are shit and Ubisoft Quebec squandered their right to make flagship games. It’s not Assassin’s Creed. Fight me
@@tarpsoff57 waaaaa its not an assassins creed game waaaaa Mate, the people who made your beloved assassins creed games say it is an assassins creed game Could hardly care what a fanboy has to say about that
Another thing. Always equip the Spartan kick during naval battle. It’s insanely useful during boarding battles, because for one thing, it’s just easy to kick enemies off a narrow ship, more importantly, because for some reason enemy naval soldiers and captains can’t fucking swim. So no matter how powerful they may be, one well aimed kick and they are eternally done.
When going through caves you will see these coal little pans that are on the sides of the walls that used to be used for light. Some caves imo can become pretty confusing to move around. Take your torch and aim it about an inch above the coal plate and throw it. It should land in the coal plate, lighting it up and then you can pick up your torch and keep moving. This can help tremendously with not getting turned around and realizing you’ve already been in this area before or haven’t. Alternatively you could also use a fire arrow to do the same thing.
They have since added a mechanic that no matter what gear you have, you can change the appearance to a previous piece you’ve already picked up. It’s only cosmetic and the item will keep whatever stats it had when you picked it up but it makes coordinating your armor set much easier and more personalized to your desire
I bought this when it came out, played a few minutes and then didn't pick it up again until a few days ago. I sincerely regret not giving this game a chance, it's by far some of the most fun I've had with a game in a while and the story is way more engaging than I first thought
Watching this 4 years after it came out but currently playing through for the first time, and that line about bounty hunters showing up at the worst time is 100% accurate. I had a bounty when I entered a battlefield to fight for Sparta. Some guy comes out of nowhere, not dressed as an Athenian, or a spartan, and starts wailing into me. I kill him, only to later find out it was a damn bounty hunter that jumped into the fray just to kill me. I think that's the moment that hooked me on this game.
I just picked up the Gold Edition of the game on sale on Steam, loving it so far. I am doing a stealth build as Kassandra. I flash banged the Cyclops and lured him to the top of Kephallonia, then I assassinated him next to a goat.
I picked up too but on ps4, funny thing, I don't have the ps4 in my hands yet, but the offer was too good to pass by. Hopefully I'll be playing this beauty on Thursday.
I think people overrate the spartan kick because of the novelty of it, but yeah I'm finding much more use out of Bull Rush and Shield Break. The one place I've found Spartan Kick really shines is ship boarding fights though.
I've never played any Assasins Creed games since PS3. I can't even remember which one is was. Didnt get too much into it. However I'm bored of online games. After playing RDR2 and still playing DAYS GONE. I love the 1 player open world games. Ancient Greece I just love. Just bought the deluxe edition for 40€ on store. I'm hoping I fall in love with this. I'll be playing this game for what it is and not as an AC game as I have no knowledge on the previous ones. It was between this and Origins after an hour of watching videos on both. I chose this!
I love Hero Strike and Shield Breaker. But I also love the Ghost Arrow ability because I get to shoot through anything. I've gone from being a really aggressive player to leaning heavily on stealth options. I once took out an entire camp with Ghost Arrow and whistling to lure people close to assassinate them.
Here’s a very time saving tip: You can’t die from falling, right from the start. Falls aren’t fatal. They may take away all your health but you will never die from them. Eventually you can get a perk that negates all fall damage.
You can toggle the helmet visuals on and off in the Inventory menu so that you still get the defence and effects but you won't see it on your character. Quite enjoying the game, it's really good. I make good use of the Second Wind and Kick abilities the most, they've been very useful.
Reina Watt to do this go to the inventory Hover over the specific item of armour then in the bottom right there is an ‘eye’ icon click it to Change the appearance of that piece of Armor but u can only change to Armor that u have acquired
I beat the whole game using a dagger I kept upgrading (and later one purchasing a legendary one you find during one of the quests), I tried all kinds of weapons (I have over 160 hours on the game) but this one is just a perfect fit tbh. I highly recommend. Also, during some attacks on ship, if you are tired of those, you can park your ship not so far away from the boat you are attacking (it can't spot you, othervise it wont work) and then just slaughter everyone on the boad (they are super weak), then destroy the boat using yours. It saves so much time lmao. Dont be blind like I was and when killing off the cultists and other op mfs, click on them and see their abilities (some can poison you, some use fire, some go feral when on low hp) so you can be prepared somehow. (English isn't my first language, sorry for mistakes if there are any)
You missed what is sometimes one of the easiest and funnest ways to get rid of a bounty. You can also kill the person who put the bounty on you. They appear on the map as well. Sometimes it's more than one if your wanted level is high.
Sounds like me and Witcher 3, I may never finish every side quest/ ? In Witcher 3, but it is a fun game that I never get bored playing. I hope Odyssey is as fun as Witcher 3 and Origins.
@@christiang2425 Maybe she still ain't finished yet !! Lol, I'm totally absorbed in Origins ATM, that's why I'm watching this, IL buy this straight after I think. Looks great.
Another great tip that I never see people bring up in these vids is to try and paralyze mercenaries once you get them beat up enough or save the "captain" or "polemarch" for last and paralyze him too. Once they are paralyzed you recruit them onto your ship and they are higher up on the lieutenant list typically either a epic or legendary status. I've yet to come across one that turned out to just be regular... This same idea goes for alpha animals, you can paralyze and tame them also and they are great in merc battles because they distract the merc so you can get an overpower hit on them or begin using explosive arrows from a distance while they fight your animal. Your arrows and hits won't hurt animals you've tamed.
I personally like to disable the damage numbers. Makes it feel a lot cleaner when fighting enemies. The health bar shows more than enough. No need to have a bunch of meaningless numbers flying around.
Open the map there will be a red money pouch/bag icon, go to that camp/fort use the eagle to scan the area and it will show that same icon hovering over the one who put the bounty on you and yes there can be more than one person that put out a bounty on you depending on how many districts/islands you have committed crimes on.
LDA that’s what I do lol, when I don’t want to fight 4 captains, a nation leader, and worry about a cultist, and have a fucking bounty hunter show up out of no where.
@@Above3Beyond123 basically what LDA said. But you can't pay off your very first bounty as he is a quest. (I'm new and was searching for the red pouch for ages yesterday lol)
I always end up playing with the female character in almost every game because the acting voice is far better than the male voice and I must say Cassandra is great she's beautiful badass and witty.
Find a bow with 25% adrenaline on headshot bonus and go nuts in sniper mode. Also most legendary armor sets have the third bonus locked unless you have a full set, but epic have all three available and you can add another one to make it 4 bonus set. You can shoot sharks that swim deeper with a ghost arrow, even thru your ship. Makes looting sunken treasure lot easier.
My tip on gear would be to not only pay attention to the engravings (even if they seem minuscule at first), but also don't disregard weaker or under-leveled gear. If you're going for a warrior build, for example, a rare piece of armor that offers +6% warrior damage and +2% all damage that's 5 levels under you can be more valuable than a piece of legendary armor that gives +9% warrior. This is because a lot of those traits that come with the gear upgrades with the gear's level, so when you upgrade that armor later it will be +8% warrior and +3% all, and it's way cheaper to upgrade. Plus you'll be better at the game, so you won't need as much armor/health. Before I figured out exactly what I wanted to focus on, I sold a bunch of "useless" armor because it was way under-leveled. But I was going for an assassin build and a lot of those weak pieces had +assassin damage and +all damage, so that was a mistake. I should have upgraded those. A smaller tip - knocking people out doesn't add to your bounty. So if you have a contract mission on someone in public and you can't kill him with an arrow from a distance, then you can knock him out with spartan kick or fists (warrior damage boosts fist damage too), and then carry him somewhere private to kill him or simply recruit him to your ship since the game counts recruiting as killing. Being unarmed can also help if you have a bunch of civilians swarming you. You can hammer on them all day and your bounty won't go up as long as you don't kill anyone.
I found the bounty hunters a pain in the ass to start with. The first bounty hunter, talos, seemed to be everywhere. Literally every time I turned around, he was there. When I was sneaking through bushes, he was walking down the road next to me. I dunno if it was programmed to be like that or if I was just unlucky, but it was bloody annoying. Very satisfying when I finally stuck my spear through him...
Right now I'm lvl 4 and the first hunter is lvl 5, he is walking about on the other side of the grapevine yard so I just stay clear of there. I guess the more you progress the closer he will be to you since he is a bounty hunter and you have a bounty on your head. Cool mechanic and it reminds me of shadow of mordor or whatsitsname
Talos is actually programed that way, he left you alone until you reach his level and then he starts to activelly hunt you. Don't run, just kill him, temporary switch to easy mode if you need.
13:00 very good advice, I needed 3 attempts to play Assassins creed Unity through. I always tried to do everything before I wanted to advance in the main quest. in the 3 run I didn't concentrate so much on the side activities and so the game was much more fun.
I recommend getting the ghost arrows as soon as possible. It does extra damage and can go through obstacles. It is also very useful before you go into a cave or with assinations. The enemy will have no idea where you are. You should also scyognize (that is probably misspelled) because it will upgrade your eagle and after a certain amount of locations you can sic your eagle on the enimies. If you have enough patience you could probably clear out a camp by just doing this. Legendary gear can come in sets and will often include some good perks with them once you collect the whole set. Don't forget that you can upgrade your wepons and gear, and you can engrave perks on them. Keep in mind your actions does gave a price like he said in the video, but they also effect your quest storyline to. There are also some things called ancheit stele in tombs spread across the world. They give you free abilities points and the only thing you would have to kill is some snakes most of the time. However there are some spike traps but they're obvious to spot if you have a torch. The tombs are designed to be puzzles but their not every hard. In order to get in you will usually have to break some loose stones in a open room with an alter ( I think it's an alter) and some offerings that you can loot. The tombs also hold chests with loot most of the time. I personally found these things and pieces of knowledge useful while playing. I hope someone else finds them useful too.
This game doesn't deserve the hate it gets just because it's not like the Ezio saga. The game design is top notch, fight mechanics are a lot of fun, the story is well developed with tragedy, comedy and everything in between, and the world just looks spectacular. Obviously no game is perfect, but I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the 100 hours I spent on it
They should had made it into completely different game ....I really liked it's style started playing from yesterday......any tips on which quests to complete and also how do I get the quest under the ground
I would pepper a few side quests in between the main story quests. Also, there are a few cultists (you'll get there) that you need to kill "the right way" or else they won't drop a clue. Also, avoid rash decisions when you're given a choice of killing or sparing some important people along the way. I got to around level 55 before wrapping up the 3 main storylines.
That bit about pacing yourself not to be overwhelmed was very useful for me. I love the game but had to drop it at some point because I was trying to do everything in each region, and it felt absolutely daunting. But now I want to get back into playing, before Valhalla comes out:-)
It isn't silly, it is a fact, all sides were using it to kick enemy shields to stagger them and brake through wall of shield. You can see it performed on some greek drawings and vases, obviously in real life it wasn't that cinematic;)
im pretty sure every soldier ever used some form of kick or another whenever it was necessary, but the spartan kick was invented by zach snyder for the movie 300, actual spartans always fought in phalanx formations with really long spears, and all their training was based on fighting in this single cohesive unit with the long spear, however if you have a solid source on the pre snyder history of the spartan kick i would love to read it
Bought the games few days ago during discount, Thanks Ubisoft. Laptop GPU not that high, upgraded RAM, wifi potato, still HDD. Thanks for the tips 🙏. Will play it later.
If you press the square on the clothing at the inventory you can change the appearance of the suits you’re wearing and match the however you want. My Kassandra always looks really cool because of that option.
One of my favorite "Starter Tips" videos on AC odyssey. I love the script of the dialog in this. Maybe it's the use of "spoilery" as an adjective, maybe it's your English accent, but this was really one of my fav videos on the game.
Man I love this game why I do is what ever mission I’m closest to is what get done and each time I finish a mission I’m in a different area works great!
I'm sorry to bother you with a boring history comment that you certainly didn't ask for, BUT I"M GONNA ANYWAY. You said "wage slaves". In ancient Greece depending ofcourse on each city state and which era we're talking about, there were many forms of slavery. There were ofcourse slaves in the way we mean them today. There were slaves that could buy their freedom, slaves that had no political rights but did not belong to a single person, slaves that could walk freely and insult free citizens without any repurcussion or punishment. But the most common form was slavery, was waged slavery. Working for a wage was slavery. In fact the greek word for work today AND in ancient greece is the same exact word for slavery. Douleia. Ok that's all. Let us rejoice in our financial insecurity now and enjoy the game :'(
I started playing it yesterday on PC (got the Deluxe version). I did notice the severe reduction in synchronization points. And indeed the world is huge but beautifull. However I unfortunately couldn't find the option to turn enemy/NPC scaling off like one could do in AC: Origins (Enemy scaling means that no matter what lvl you are, the enemy npc's will always match your lvl or be at a higher lvl wich I HATE and defeats the whole purpose of leveling!) I want to be able to save up my lvl progression so I can return to areas with lower lvl enemies that I wasn't able to defeat before when I was still at a lower level. So example: Being lvl 10 then return to an area where enemies are only lvl 1 to 5 or something. For the rest absolutely awesome game! :)
just Shane both points are the only negatives for me on this game I didn’t realise till I was lvl 30 and by that time some areas already became lvl 50..... just glad there’s a lvl cap of 70 or ide lose my shit
Thanks so much for the video. I just finished AC Vahalla and Odyessy is a very different game and harder I have to say. The tip about blacksmith was very helpful as well as boarding the ships heals your ship. Also for me the kick, Healing and shield breaker was essential to helping me survive. I also was staring to wonder how to progess and overwhelmed so your comments there were also helpful.
This was much needed as I am only now getting into this game, man it's been fun so far though. The funny thing is, I didn't feel I had earned the Spartan Kick until I started fighting with the Spartans, then I finally felt right giving myself that ability. Looking forward to where my own Odyssey takes me. Any other starting advice is most welcome. Cheers.
Same. They actually don't feel like AC games anymore, but they're amazing games on their own, so I don't care. I loved Origins, but Odyssey is the cherry on the cake. In addition to that, I've loved ancient egypt and ancient greece as eras since I was a child, so that they created these games makes my heart sing.
@@j.m.vofficial6113 odyssey takes place before origins. Go with odyssey since is the latest game, and is an improvised version of origins. Origins is amazing too, but the map is smaller and have less things to do compared to odyssey. (Sorry for my eng)
If u don’t like the look of any headpiece, simply press the right stick while in the inventory screen to hide it on your character. Similarly you can reskin any piece of gear you have equipped by pressing x(square for ps4) while highlighting that piece
I found playing as the girl gives u more interesting dialogue with npcs and the Armor u put on looks better also I like getting lots Wanted levels because the mercenaries that come after u give u good loot for killing them and if u have better Armor on then what u get u can always sell it for money or u can dismantle it for items like leather ect
I genuinely hated this game at first because Origins was SOOOOOO good. But…. After playing this again and giving it another shot I do thoroughly enjoy this! The only down side is the map is SOOOOO friggin big and fast travel spots are so few. Lol.
Wherever the poison related skills are, that is where I'm investing in a few skills in that. It works great in Origins. Maybe I have invested too much in the tools section of Origins cause I can dart 1 guy and kill everyone in the smaller forts without even stepping on the ground in red areas :D So it will prob be great in Odyssey as well. Yet I'm sure there are a few worrier skills I'll need in Odyssey as well.
For gear, I usually keep one set of each Warrior, Hunter, Assassin, If I find any Legendary rarities I would fill each slot with the legendaries and the ones I don't use I store on my ship and other unique armor/weapons sets, the reason for this is so that I can quickly change into assassin build to raid a fort, hunter build to kill animals(especially rare ones) and Warrior builds for wars and mercenaries trying to kill me. It helps to keep my inventory managed yet easily swappable depending on situations.
Thanks for the tips some really helped. Just picked this game up a few days ago and i'm just starting to grasp the controls (i'm used to Black Flag controls). Already I had something funny happen: I went to an NPC to obtain a quest to do to get more XP but suddenly a wolf comes out of nowhere and kills the guy then takes off running lol
The Ship tip, with boarding is so good to know, I got third partied by Mercs when soloing 4 ships already and that usually meant I had to run so this helps out a lot.
Also, pro tip: When fighting Mercenaries, NEVER kill them! Beat them all the way down to the last sliver of life, then hit them with a paralyzing arrow and recruit them to the ship! You still get the Gear and Drachmae and ship full of mercenaries is UNBEATABLE lol. You’re welcome newbies ✊🏾
I’m still fricking confused by everything. I never played a story game. It’s too much information. This is for people who have already played these types of games
*Best Tip When Attacking Forts* Sneak in and kill what you can in the perimeter. When you are spotted, run inward in the fort and go to the Brazier as fast as you can and *SET A TRAP* so when they go to ignite it for Reinforcements, it backfires on them, and no one knows of the attack. -If you don’t, you will have lots of Bounty Hunters show up, as well as the fort rebuild it’s lost defenses and might even add another captain in the midst for extra defense. Set a trap so you don’t deal with extra bullshit like I did in that one giant ass fort in southern Phokis
You can also change the aesthetic of your gear to make it look like any piece of gear you've previously unlocked. I currently have mismatched clothes equipped but I have the aesthetics changed to look like the Achilles armor set
Since I travel for work I haven't been able to play this yet although I bought the Ultimate Edition for the early access .So can anyone tell me if it's possible to Spartan Kick someone onto one of those spiky wooden barricades from the beginning of the video?
It seems very...grindy. I want to be rewarded for remaining undetected. Instant kills with the hidden blade and with head shots with the bow. I like what Assassin's Creed Origins did with the animus system which allows you to change such settings, does Odyssey have the same thing?
I still watch these things even being pretty far in. I've found the Spartan kick extremely useful for shop warfare. I typically kick the stronger guys off the edge to drown while taking out the weaker guys in a few hits. Very easy this way. Otherwise I mostly use it interrupt power attacks and such from regular high-level guys. I do like the bull attack though as well. It comes in handy for interrupting power attacks and closing gaps while sending people flying off stuff in addition to the Spartan Kick. I enjoy the gameplay and combat in Odyssey. I'm of a more of Assassin-oriented inclination with this game so far, like cutting entire fortresses down one-by-one in a bush, but all-out combat comes about consistently too, so have at least the bull and the Kick come in handy.
Curse the gods i played RDR2! Now i compare everything with the perfection of it. Didnt care much about voice acting, facial animations and animation of characters/creatures before but, now i find many things irritating in this game:S Not comparing story and gameplay itself here. They are completely different games in that manner. What i find most irritating is facial animations, voice acting and horses. Cannot get over it anymore. I wonder....did RDR2 ruin gaming experience of other similar games or will it force everybody to improve. Anyway long story short. I do enjoy the story of AC Odyssey. Combat and sneaking around, murdering folks is kind of captivating but, damn these character models and facial animations!
Same here. I like Odyssey but rdr2 has ruined other open world games for me at the moment. But the Witcher 3 did the same thing to other open world games at the time so this feeling will pass again, hopefully.
another same here mate.refused to pick odyssey till now and I'm dissatisfied mainly because of how crisp and smooth everything revolved around arthur and just minutes into the game in odyssey the friend whom the protagonist seem to be in the present lost me with her voice acting and lack of depth in the conversation. Kids talk better than that
I played GoW and Rdr2 now just bought this.. Pretty sure God of War and rdr ruined all games. I compare everything to them I end up quitting everything
It Didnt Ruin Gaming Because Not Every Game Can Be Like Rdr2, If You Compare Any Other Game To It You Will Always Because Most Games Are Closer To The Likes Of Assassin Creed And Other Triple A Games
Getting the Call to Arms upgrade with tribal leader and her bear is extremely useful, 2 helpers for 1. Both can seriously help to weaken many dangerous enemies. For ultimate ground superiority, get these two AND a domesticated elite polar bear companion.
You can kill civilians now?? Bout time ... can't wait for 10 pm Thursday !!! Glad you like it man it is looking like a Damn blast. I just uninstalled origins so I can play this instead but will one day finish origins it's just so good.
@@WintersMinion yeah I preordered as soon as I had the chance I just wish I got the ultimate instead of the standard edition. Sounds like you really liked origin good luck 100ing this game!
Yea origins was great and this looks even better can't wait to play Tonite. You should finish origins. I still got to play the second dlc. But I still but like 150 he's in the first. Just has a good fighting and collecting system.
I started the game on Nightmare/exploration mode. It has been nicely challenging where you must strategize, you can not run in and make a big scene. Even taking on just a few enemies can be tough in this mode. But the satisfaction for taking down a mercenary the same level as you is incredibly rewarding on this game mode. The only thing I really dislike is how easy it is to Lure a higher level and much much stronger mercenary than you to a high cliff and just spartan kick his ass off for the K.O.. I try to avoid doing this anymore as it takes any reward away from the finish.
I used "lock on target" a lot in combat because I thought it made it easy to parry and dodge while keeping others at bay. However over time imo turning it off has helped a lot more. With it off you can easily move about a group of people, you don't have this sort of "circling" problem like you do with target lock. I'd recommend others that read this to try turning lock off and just work around a crowd with rolls instead of focusing on one person at a time. Only time I ever use lock is if it's one lone person like a mercenary but even in that case it's harder to dodge their fire smoke and venom bombs... It just doesn't work right - target lock is lame try turning it off if you're really used to it you gain a lot more freedom to move about and it still auto targets the person you're after pretty well regardless. Only time I ever use it now is if its a lone person I'm after and I have distance and I'm trying to make some range hits.
Assassin's Creed or not, it's a huge open world rpg that you can play your way. I want it lol

Non lethal unless you kick a fucker off a 200 foot cliff😂
As long as the kick doesn't knock them off ledges and take fall dmg which WILL kill them.
Takedowns on civilians and soldiers doesn't count towards your bounty gauge when people in public sees you.
On Spartan kicking enemies into obstructions can kill them, so hope they land on the ground rather than a table.
Absolutely the best power, it's quick and helps so much with those enemy's with Shields.
Its hard picking which skills to use. I have to have my sparta kick, shield breaker and healing skill.
The spartan kick is also useful when you are fighting NPC’s that are a much higher level than you are 👍🏻 you just kick them off a high ledge and gravity does the hard work for you 😁👌🏻
Fall damage is king lmao

Aye, okay you've sold me on it.
John McGovern I totally cheesed the first mercenary to hunt you when you’re level 3 and he’s 5. Kicked him off a ledge, all fall damage is an instant kill to enemies as long as it’s barely high enough to cause damage. It’s either all or nothing
Spartan kick + bear + mountain = hours of joy.

This game is a must buy. I bought the spartan collection and have been playing it since launched at midnight early on oct 2. I’m already over level 30 and have played almost 35 hours.
Here is some of my experience playing and some tips on getting the most out of yours:
-Which difficulty?
-Don’t skip side quests
+The amount of side quests are really overwhelming but you should still do at least 2 or 3 in between Odyssey quests.
-Don’t accept every single quest
+I highly recommend keeping your accepted quests list short.
-Blacksmith/Upgrading
+The blacksmith cost for upgrading your gear is really high.
-Grind at sea
+The loot from boarding ships is pretty good. You can get a bunch of resources and gear from looting the chests after you deal with the enemies.
-Save
+Save the game often, you can press F5 on pc for a quick save, otherwise make sure to do a save overwrite every hour or so. Also if you are attacking a giant enemy fortified location make sure to come out of combat to save at least once so u dont lose all ur process from dying.
-RPG choices
+Don’t feel like you have to follow any certain dialogue style. Yes certain dialogue can have certain consequences but the best thing about odyssey is that you almost NEVER know which dialogue has a supposedly negative outcome. Play it how you want to.
How the hell I spend 54 hours on only lvl 27

Is there a way to side with one side such as the Spartans and get them to not attack you all the time?
People don't seem to understand a point about fashion in the game. You can always equip a set of gear of which stats you like and then just change it's looks just as they did with for honor but for free. All you have to to is to own the armor you want to have as looks. Doesn't matter if you sold it because it remains saved in the "Looks" menu. So you don't need to look like a washed up peasant all the time.
Sig Nante exactly! I'm wearing the snake set and but looks like a traditional Spartan set
true but you need to be atleast level 8
I wanna look like a washed up peasant.
It's the other way around with me. Half the game I was using Ezio set for it's bonuses, but looking like some bandit, cause ACB looks were too out of place. 😁
Does the game have dresses or something a little cuter for Kassandra? I tend to play as my own gender but I like cute outfits in game.
If you didn't try out Nightmare, you missed on the fun of dying to pissed off chickens in 2 or 3 hits. Hilarious.
Lool
LOL why would you try nightmare XD even at Medium difficulty those chickens and roosters are crazy high damage like they get half your health with just 3-4 hits
There are chickens that will kill you at normal level. Bloody shock that was, I didn’t actually realise it was the hen attacking me!
Just got this. Can't wait! Sounds relaxing hahaha
Chickens are basically cobras in disguise.
Everyone talks about the spartan kick, it's nice don't get me wrong, but I find the shield grab move much more useful overall.
I use both, but I use the Spartan kick more over all
Both skills seem handy, I hate enemies with shields so I will likely get the skill to grab shields, but if the Spartan kick helps slow down groups from all attacking me at once, that would be a good option too, especially if I can kick them long enough to knock them out and recruit them to my ship fleets.

I always shout "the sharks will eat good today" right before launching someone overboard. You're right!
Hard to swim in metal armor.
Except for the PC.
Ring of Chaos level 3 can knock most to all of them off the ship if positioned in the right place.
I actually discovered the other day if you stand next to them with your torch they will light it automatically
They have since added a mechanic that no matter what gear you have, you can change the appearance to a previous piece you’ve already picked up. It’s only cosmetic and the item will keep whatever stats it had when you picked it up but it makes coordinating your armor set much easier and more personalized to your desire

Is there any drawback to resettling abilities? Can I just switch from a full hunter to a full warrior build if I want to? Does it cost drachma?
You forgot dismantling armor and weapons to get more materials
I love Hero Strike and Shield Breaker. But I also love the Ghost Arrow ability because I get to shoot through anything. I've gone from being a really aggressive player to leaning heavily on stealth options. I once took out an entire camp with Ghost Arrow and whistling to lure people close to assassinate them.
Here’s a very time saving tip: You can’t die from falling, right from the start. Falls aren’t fatal. They may take away all your health but you will never die from them.
Eventually you can get a perk that negates all fall damage.
Ability that can be unlocked from a level i think it was level 20 or 25
You can unlock falls aren't fatal from the start. The second level (no fall damage) requires a few levels.
Leaves you with 1 hp 🤪
You can toggle the helmet visuals on and off in the Inventory menu so that you still get the defence and effects but you won't see it on your character.
Quite enjoying the game, it's really good. I make good use of the Second Wind and Kick abilities the most, they've been very useful.
Also you can change the way any of your gear looks like by tapping (I play on a PS4) square
Reina Watt what do you mean by helmets visuals? I quite don’t understand what you mean by that.
Reina Watt yeh u can do that with all Armor head, chest legs and feet
Reina Watt to do this go to the inventory Hover over the specific item of armour then in the bottom right there is an ‘eye’ icon click it to Change the appearance of that piece of Armor but u can only change to Armor that u have acquired
Thanks for that👍
I beat the whole game using a dagger I kept upgrading (and later one purchasing a legendary one you find during one of the quests), I tried all kinds of weapons (I have over 160 hours on the game) but this one is just a perfect fit tbh.

The numbers do mean something though lol

Open the map there will be a red money pouch/bag icon, go to that camp/fort use the eagle to scan the area and it will show that same icon hovering over the one who put the bounty on you and yes there can be more than one person that put out a bounty on you depending on how many districts/islands you have committed crimes on.

Which boar, there are two. Lemme tell ya, the first one is a cake walk to the second one.
LOL I love it , "When life get in your way give it a Spartan kick". Thanks Johnny, this is only making want this game more :)
Lol
Lol I raged when I was one hit off to kill him but died in the end I was level 4
I spartan kicked him of a high cliff fight over lol.

13:00 very good advice, I needed 3 attempts to play Assassins creed Unity through. I always tried to do everything before I wanted to advance in the main quest. in the 3 run I didn't concentrate so much on the side activities and so the game was much more fun.
7:55 I knew Obi-Wan's"High Ground" would come in handy!
Hello there
I recommend getting the ghost arrows as soon as possible.

But now I want to get back into playing, before Valhalla comes out:-)
The title is what brought me here, but your voice is what kept me here.

The Spartan kick was an actual Spartan fighting move they trained to use. Yes I know it sounds silly.
Source on that?
Tolboe yeah I’m gonna need a source I can’t seem to find anything on it
It isn't silly, it is a fact, all sides were using it to kick enemy shields to stagger them and brake through wall of shield.

If you press the square on the clothing at the inventory you can change the appearance of the suits you’re wearing and match the however you want. My Kassandra always looks really cool because of that option.
tarts!!! slap slap
Does anyone else feel a Elder Scrolls vibe when they first played Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
#Ubisoft
Yeah, i do. Dull open world collect em up the both of them with NPC dialog being depressingly slow and full of filler.
Yes i do
I liked Origins & Syndicate. Syndicate for the London locale and ability to have gangs.
Def did and thought this exactly
Downloading this right now having never played it, while playing TES Oblivion.
I’m about 10 hours in, and I absolutely LOVE IT!! I do however, feel exceptionally overwhelmed though lol
41 hours and still a lot to go!! best game for quarantine period :D
Very in-depth, yet to the point. I loved this video. Super well made. Thanks so much man.
One of my favorite "Starter Tips" videos on AC odyssey. I love the script of the dialog in this. Maybe it's the use of "spoilery" as an adjective, maybe it's your English accent, but this was really one of my fav videos on the game.
160 hours in and still checking out stuff like this
Literally me
Man I love this game why I do is what ever mission I’m closest to is what get done and each time I finish a mission I’m in a different area works great!
retreating to a high spot and kicking pursuing enemies that are climbing a ladder is my biggest cheese tactic
Being able to customize the appearance of your gear is awesome too
two more days for us wage slaves
Bought it last night at work but I'm a sucker for tin cases trust me this game is amazing youll love it
i was able to get it early but someone had to pick it up for me cause i’m out of town for the moment until the official release date
Let us rejoice in our financial insecurity now and enjoy the game :'(
@@proksenospapias9327 lmao til
dont call yourself slave, you just didnt preordered months ago like me,that is all. :)
"Sometimes more satisfying picking the darker path"
Bahahahaha, you're right, that *was* satisfying.
Awesome video.
You did forget the detail about "killing a sponsor" as an option to remove a bounty tho
Fantastic video for people starting or only a couple hours into the game like me. Your explanation of the systems was perfect.
“300 hundred was 12 years ago, cant we have some fresh references” said about a game referencing stories from 2443 years ago.
Cheers.
This is the AC game i want. I enjoyed origins and this one is definitely better than origins.
Na I got bored quicker with this . I think origins clicked with me more
@What...the...funk! same
Origins was a good try but world felt to empty 90% was unused desert for mindless travel
You can change the appearance of any gear item to one you`ve looted before. So you can use that skull helmet for the stats and change its apperance
Good video excited to try and get as far as I can in this before red dead
Lol.
Warrior tree adds fire skills not poison, poison skills are added in the assassin tree
The spartan kick is historically accurate to Ancient Greek Olympian wrestling
Thank you for letting us know, i didnt believe the other 34 people who commented the same thing.
11:33 yup..2021 and I just startrd this game a few days ago.. definitely got overwhelmed when a bunch side quests suddenly pops up
Any bounty hunter comes out of nowhere when I'm fighting in this game😂
The Ship tip, with boarding is so good to know, I got third partied by Mercs when soloing 4 ships already and that usually meant I had to run so this helps out a lot.
Also, pro tip: When fighting Mercenaries, NEVER kill them! Beat them all the way down to the last sliver of life, then hit them with a paralyzing arrow and recruit them to the ship! You still get the Gear and Drachmae and ship full of mercenaries is UNBEATABLE lol. You’re welcome newbies ✊🏾
OMG! is that possible? Thanksss
I’m still fricking confused by everything. I never played a story game. It’s too much information. This is for people who have already played these types of games
*Best Tip When Attacking Forts*
Sneak in and kill what you can in the perimeter.
This game is very good and I can’t wait to play assassins creed 3 remastered when it drops.
JLSFIREGAMING well, did ya get it??
You can also change the aesthetic of your gear to make it look like any piece of gear you've previously unlocked. I currently have mismatched clothes equipped but I have the aesthetics changed to look like the Achilles armor set
Since I travel for work I haven't been able to play this yet although I bought the Ultimate Edition for the early access .So can anyone tell me if it's possible to Spartan Kick someone onto one of those spiky wooden barricades from the beginning of the video?
No. Only off ledges.
Im guessing you have played For Honor?
Olin Neale GB kills are some of the most satisfying ways to win... and annoying ways to die to lol
@@advxnce lol
On a walkthrough video, someone was kicked into a fire against a wall, caught fire, and died.
A brilliant video!
Thank you for sharing.
You gave it a real run and informative vibe and your voice is very easy to listen to.
Thank you again!
"This video contains spoiler"
....."turns out you can do a backflip leap of faith"
You also dont have to mismatch your gear. In the menu it gives you an option to choose the look of the weapon you have equipped.
@Pharoah M boring mo mukha mo Tang ina mo
Absolutely loved the review and the reviewer. Witty and informative. Great job!
Getting the mercs to fight your enemies is also a big brain move.
Getting the Call to Arms upgrade with tribal leader and her bear is extremely useful, 2 helpers for 1. Both can seriously help to weaken many dangerous enemies.
For ultimate ground superiority, get these two AND a domesticated elite polar bear companion.
Game still kicking ass and attracting new fans 3 years later.
You can kill civilians now?? Bout time ... can't wait for 10 pm Thursday !!! Glad you like it man it is looking like a Damn blast. I just uninstalled origins so I can play this instead but will one day finish origins it's just so good.
Yeah Origins was my first AC game I 100% the main game and the dlc's.
Probably because he wants to play it now rather than later.
Sounds like this will end up as GTA Assassins Creed style, and there is nothing wrong with that :p
I just got this game yesterday, and I love it. Amazing game!
This was such a delightfully done video. I want more of these!
Lock on target is really good against enemies on horses
