- This is my fist North & South video (well, with clips :p) matching with the soundtracks from the movie 'memoirs of a geisha' composed by John Williams. IT CONTAINS HUGE SPOILERS!! Please let me know what you think of the video :)

The movie is well directed and played very well by the cast.Wonderful story brought out excellently by the actors.The heroine and hero have done an excellent job.Wonderful effort.😊
I still love looking at excerpts from this. The ending contains one of the most romantic love scenes I've ever seen on film.
There are passages in the novel that didn’t make it to the movie in which Mr. Thornton expresses how deeply and ardently he loves Margaret. He fell in love with her quickly and he fell hard. I think his mistake in proposing to her was one of timing. It was too soon for her. She didn’t realize she loved him until after she had already hurt him. She was eleven or so years younger, and sorting out feelings she’d never felt before. I also think she heard the unkind comments of Fannie and Mrs. Thornton the day before and hadn’t had time yet to get over their pettiness.
In the novel, Thornton declares he will love her anyway, though he will not declare it again and describes how even coldness from her was sweet to him if it meant he could be in her presence. His descriptions of his love for “my Margaret” are both sad and hopeful. This cold, hard, dispassionate businessman was capable of enormous tenderness.
It appears Margaret’s extended period of mourning after her father’s death was due partially at least to also mourning for Thornton. Interestingly it is 64 year old bachelor Bell who sees clearly that she loves him and is yearning for him.
In both the novel and the movie, Thornton wins her over through gentle touch, not with words.

Другие актёры тоже великолепны. Партнёрша Ричарда была также очень убедительна в своей роли. Но весь фильм всё- таки держался на пронзительной игре Ричарда Армитиджа. Он перетянул всё внимание на себя. Потрясающий драматический актёр.

I know you probably hear this at least 25 times every 10minutes but I just have to tell you, you have one of the most beautiful expressive eyes they speak volumes!
Amazing acting and story
First didnt know nothing about N&S and I somehow happened watch it. Now I cant imagine, how to live without it.

I am not a real big fan of Richard Armitage in Robin Hood (probably because his character isn't really nice, and because I haven't watched serie 1 XD) but I just love his role in North & South. It is an amazing serie, I can really recommand it to you! There are some amazing videos on YT about this serie (especially Melodia222 makes a lot of N&S videos :p) Please let me know if you liked the serie as much as I think you will :). Ричард Армитидж должен был сам играть Робин Гуда, он больше подходит на эту роль. А также ему подходят роли Гамлета, Фауста, графа Монте Кристо, Андрея Болконского... Он потрясающий драматический актёр. Без него этот фильм потерял бы своё очарование и силу.

I'm still stunned(not that I've been stunned a week, but after seeing it a second time today ^^). At first I thought the music doesn't fit so very well after all, but the more I saw of the video the more I thought the opposite. I think it emphasizes how their relationship is based on so many controversial aspects, like their different origion and attitudes. And with the music rising they get closer but they also come more into conflict. I think the music supports that very well! Amazing Video!

Great post. I like many people, didn’t know Elizabeth Gaskell’s work & Industrial Revolution stories can be dry and factual, but Richard Armitages performance is excellent. Daniela too, portrays a character who at feels completely out of place but after meeting some locals, feels more comfortable in it

I meant to save it to my faves but sometimes I watch a few things at the same time and comment first, so it must have escaped me to save to faves, but I have done that now and it's saved !!! How can I not love it, it's an amazing video of my fave series-I love North and South, and to this amazing music-it's extraordinary!
