- The story of Margaret and John. A love story.
Note: The music is a blend of three different songs from the "Meet Joe Black" score by Thomas Newman: Walkaway, Cold Lamb Sandwich, and That Next Place. I wanted to do an instrumental video and play around with the voiceovers. I wanted to show a pretty simple chronological video of Margaret and John separately, then their story together. It's a story that has good moments and rough moments. Like all good love stories do. I really enjoyed making this video, even if it was pretty hard!

Richard Armitage portrays Mr. Thornton perfectly! I am sure Elizabeth Gaskell herself would have chosen Richard for this part. I agree with another viewer who said one can watch this movie over and over and never get tired of it. A Sincere thank you to all who made this movie possible!

They should do a sequel to this story. Down that winding road, with it's ups and downs. England has so many stories that need to be told and retold.....

As the book was written 170 years ago they should leave the story alone and find others to tell.
We're not going to tell a sequel to a book that doesn't have one! It would be a total disrespect for this wonderful story and book

I'd watched this series over and over again. I never get boring of it. Each time is like the first time. Very elegant and classic where the love is feeling and shown in small details by look or a touch or even breathe.

I had the dvd in my cabinet thinking it would be about the American Civil war. Really bored one night I put it on and completely fell in love with Mr.Thornton.I found it a most tender love story and watched it every night for 4 days. I have lent it to all my friends who loved it too. I would love to see Mr Armitage in some Jane Austin series.

There is indeed a USA civil war series with the same name 😌 I wholeheartedly agree that Richard Armitage can embody just about any of the fabulous Jane Austen leading men, as well as most of the men from the Brontë sisters’ stories. I could have also seen him being the perfect Maxim de Winter in the current Rebecca (2020), although I am not complaining about Armie Hammer. 😉🎭🤩

I also want to add that when I imagine Victorian love stories it plays out just like you’ve presented it...with their everyday lives and then one day they meet and it’s all about the looks at each other and what’s beyond the conversations and “read between the lines” type of relationships because everything was more proper back then. Also want to note that Margaret and John fell in love because they challenge each other to be better and even though they were different they found out that they are the same and want the same things. Oh to live back in this time...I hope it was as lively and romantic as this mini series brought out.

those were years when my ancestors fled from Pogroms and persecutions...
only a few decades later my great great grandparents fled to England and maybe a few more decades later, my other great great grandparents fled to Canada and USA, which makes me lucky to have had great grand parents. those who stayed, perished in the Holocaust.
but even in the UK, USA and CA, they still had to suffer until times have changed.
IT'S PURELY ....MAGIC! I HAVE THE MOVIE AND WATCH IT EVERY NIGHT! 💖🎩👒 THE VICTORIAN IS THE MOST GENTILE ERA. MOST OF THE MOVIES I WATCH ARE DURING THIS ERA. I HOPE IT WILL SUPRIZE US WITH MORE OF JOHN & MARGRET.

The older the time period of a movie the more I enjoy them. This movie has certainly my criteria for having just what was needed. Actors were outstanding!Wasen't Richard georgous!Didn't he do a fantastic job in The Hobbit He's so talented. Wish we could see him in more movies that were made for him!
Try the Vicar of Dibley series 2 episodes he features in and Sparkhouse (modern version of Wuthering Heights) then
