With rappa you ideally wanna break with her to deal max break dmg. Her dmg also mainly comes from attacking enemies already broken which is why her dps is significantly weaker when sam isnt weakness broken. Weakness break can also deal more dmg based on how strong the weakness bar is. Also jade has a 50% advance forward at the start of ever fight from that trace you leveled up without reading so spd isnt a requirement. For a strategy it would probably be to use a team with the best weakness breakers with rappa and try to break sam asap to get as much dps from rappa while hes still weakness broken. Use the scarf looking consumable to increases spd by 50% for 3 turns i think and also the 1000 healing per turn buff and enter with max energy. Goodluck you'll definetly need it. Fyi you can check how much an attack lowers the weakness bar somewhere in the trace menu labelled "toughness reduction" Also for break DPS characters the chest piece can be realistically anything as atk doesn't boost break immensely so running rappa on HP or DEF chest pieces could help with survivability also rappa is most likely the best for bosses in this account since she does blast enhanced basics that scale better than full aoe attacks.
also HMC is basically required for any break dps and without them they lose the majority of their damage. so in this case wouldn't most of Rappa's damage come from breaking not attacking broken enemies

For Rappa she does need atk like Firefly coz she has a trace similar to Firefly that scale of atk. But the trace effect is different compared to Firefly. Boothill on the other hand doesn't require any stat other than Break effect and Speed.

For Rappa, basically her ascension passives are necessary. I'm pretty sure they allow her to get break effect based on her atk and be able to trogger superbreak, which will help a lot with SAM. Also, when fighting SAM with Rappa try to make sure that Rappa's enchanced basic attack (after ultimate) breaks his weakness for extra extra dmg, since she is a break dps. She would work the best with HTB and RM, but of course you can't get them on this account unfortunately
I'm moderately deep in the meta of the game, at least so I can safely do unconventional stuff with a modicum of success; watching this for the first time and realizing how far away you are from beating Sam hurts. That's going to be one heck of a summit to crest, but I have faith you can pull it off. Some day.

So the thing is, rappa was supposed to play break/ superbreak, and by not having ruan mei or harmony main, it is most likely that rappa couldnt do any thing in that build, sooo The best choice here is to build her as a crit dps as the other erudition chars to see if she could do anything
When a character needs a lot of break effect it means their main way of dealing damage is to break the enemy so dont expect her to deal a decent amount unless your breaking the enemies weakness
I don't think Iron Cavalry is the best relic option for this acc because it relies heavily on Super Break (something only Harmony MC can do). I would go for Thief of Shooting Meteor instead
8:39 The big nuke ignores your character’s defense so its does 24,000 damage when you have 4 characters, and since you had less characters the nuke did less damage then if you had more characters survive. (You want to break the boss to get shields. Also the early access thing lasts until the character is not on the banner. So you have 17 days to farm for her materials.)
29:45 the only good teammate you are able to use is jade. she likes super break and break buffers. which no erudition unit other than her wants. you could let her have the final break to deal more damage too

Highly suggest using Rappa to go against the Sunday (the one you just fought) weekly boss! She's good with breaking and using her on Iron Cavalry Set is her best relic set, especially without Harmony MC. :))
Part of the challenge is because Java doesn't actually play HSR besides this account, so he makes a lot of mistakes playing it, specially with Rappa, as he doesn't even known what SuperBreak is.

I think the feature started in 2.0. Limited 5-stars get the early access every time they run. New 4-stars get the same treatment *only* for their premiere banner.
Rappa is a huge pickup and her light cone helps her get her ultimate up extremely quickly. She’s going to perform much better with that, but more break effect is probably a good direction. I also like the idea of using Jade with Rappa to use her skill and turn on the Relic abilities. Good video!
One thing you could try would be to break sam with rappa. You would both get the damage rappa is supposed to do but you will also slow him down with the imaginary break. Maybe that would be enough
I have no idea if it's even possible to use rappa efficiently without superbreak. It might be better to just build a crit rappa for actually damage or speed and ER only so she can break alot since her intended kit basically requires a superbreak enabler which currently there's only harmony trailblazer and possibly another one coming soon that appeared in my dreams
Even with traces level up material u cannot currently access, u can exchange for them them using other level up trace materials, so u can use the for example destruction level up material to get the harmony Penacomy level up material

Ok for teams since you don't have harmony trailblazer theres not much we can do I recommend just getting her break Stat up and use her more of like a break support what I mean is a character that exist to break enemies nothing more orrrr you can use rappa,himeko,herta and random character oh and congrats on the 50/50 win and full rappa build good luck
honestly, your best shot at beating SAM, is to just make all your characters into tanks since SAM damages himself everytime he attacks (ei : 4 Guard of Wuthering Snow or 2 piece Guard & 2 piece knight of purity but its highly recomended you go for 4 piece guard of wuthering snow, cuz of its heal, also you could farm some Belobog of the Architects planar sphere if you need the def but its not recomended for you do so unless you rlly need the def) (granted this strategy will make the combat of the fight boring, since its will just be a stall match lol)
Technically all characters could wear support ornaments like Fleet of the ageless and Broken keel, giving them more tank ability (HP or eff res) and giving an all team boost passively (attack and crit damage respectively) for low stat investment (120 spd for Fleet is needed anyway on offensive characters, and 30 RES on a character who get RES traces + 10 from the set is easy to get). One other godsent ornament for this account would be Izumo, for the atk and crit rate bonus "if another character follows the same path as the wearer". Everyone getting 12% atk and 12% crit rate is HUGE ! Serval and Jade could be on Broken keel "easily" (and Jing Yuan might benefit from investing in RES too so LL isn't stuck when control hits) One thing to note about spd : the % boonuses scale from base speed of the character (so 96+9 for Rappa once traces are unlocked) and not relics, which would give Rappa +14 speed "only" with r4 Charmony. Charmony is better than her signature without spd supports like Asta, Ruan Mei, e1 Huohuo or Messenger set. While 145 isn't necesseraly hard to achieve on 105 spd character with speed boots ("just" need +15 from substats, average of 3 on each piece), Charmony just makes it that easier since Rappa is heavily reliant on her ult anyway.
The thing with rappa is that you want to break with her especially because you dont have much super break(a mechanic only available to a degree in her kit and a lot more with harmony trailblazer)

Java you got a lot of tears of dreams it replace talent lvl up material it doesn't glow when you can use them but when you go on the talent it says remplish with tears of dreams
So to beat Sam. I did it with erudition only as well and its possible. I used Jade, Quinque, Serval and Argenti, i didnt used jingjuan because i dont have him. But its might be a good idea to use this team: Rappa, Jade, Quinque, Jingjuan. Also enhance what you can before the battle and use these food buffs: Prayer machine (This will give you tons of HP), and for DMG buff, try Disposable Kinetic cannon or arm (it both gives you ATK and CRIT stats). Also go in the battle with full ultimates: Im not sure if i did but wait with your ultimates until you can start breaking the boss. Im sure you can beat that boss already like this
So I'm also playing an Erudition only account and also stuck at Sam. I'm currently leveling up Rappa and I was hoping to see how you succeeded for inspiration. Looks like I have to wait for the next video. I will say with food buffs (but not fully levelled up traces and very meh relics) I can get Sam down to half or slightly over half hp so it has to be possible. The only tip I have for now is, as others have said, try to break Sam with Rappa when possible. EDIT: I have since done it so here's what worked for me: I did not have optimal relics so these are not needed. My team was Serval (built for break and defence), Jing Yuan (build for damage), Rappa (built for break), Qingque (built for damage, I realized that Jade was doing nothing for me). Food buff used: Prayer Machine & Oak Cake Roll. Best of luck on your attempt!

for Rappa, most of her damage comes from breaking the enemy or attacking weakness broken enemies (which is significantly boosted by Harmony Trailblazer which you can't use here unfortunately) Himeko is also viable on break, just a fun fact I wanted to share here lol Congrats on the pulls Java!
The scary doll boss has several layers of toughness, breaking those one by one gives you the layers of shield. Like it happened during that fight, if you stack enough it CAN fully block the nuke, so I think once you get the hang of it, it should be a good one to go up against, since it has a built in support mechanic :)
I’ve seen a lot of HSR challenge accounts and there’s an item called the Prayer Machine iirc, which restores HP for you and your enemy for the first 5 turns that a lot of them use. You should try that out next episode
For rappa to do even more damage you would just need to unlock her skills mainly her talents “sea echo” and “withered leaf”. You need the 250 break effect for the relic she has equip. You also want her to attack the enemy in her ultimate state when the enemy’s toughness is fully gone for Super break to trigger
The things you have not unlocked for rappa allows for super break,which means breaking and attacking already broken enemies is really good on her when you unlock that
You gotta do the event, it has no (or almost no) combat, it's just a lot of dialogue to click through and a rhythm minigame but you'll get so many level materials. Also rappa is supposed to be used in superbreak teams so you want to focus on her breaking the enemy, you also need her A4 trace to deal superbreak damage without HMC so she will be dealing pretty bad damage unless you break with her until you get that trace
You really do need to play on your main accoubt so that you can go through the main story beats and prevent massive spoilers. Coz at this point, even the banners are spoilers. Also, rappa is probably the best character when it comes to clearing that weekly boss
Not saying you will keep grinding or even read this comment, but dont forget you're not doing "end game" content. You can use food to help bolster your defenses and theres a lot of shops that sell amazing food such as the giant eye ball in penacony that does all the dream scape stuff. Or a lot of shops that sell recipes you could buy instead to give yourself enough health or defense for that fight.

Sacerdos increases crit dmg of the character the relic set is on so she would be giving 18% crit dmg to herself

No thats Firefly. What Attack does for Rappa is give all enemies a Break Vulnerability, up to 10% increased damage from break while in Ult state

She gives herself some superbreak in her kit, but if you run her without HMC, building hybrid is probably optimal.
You should do the new event, there is 0 combat required+can be 100%completed in 2 hours
you also get a ton of jade and rappa trace materials
It's not even 2hrs. You can easily do it in below 2hrs. I'd say 1hr and 20-30min
There are food buffs you can eat that heal you for like 1000hp for the first 5 turns that would probably help you against sam

8:35 you had only 2 chars and the same amount of shield, so he did half the damage, thus the shield tanked it.
Best tip for sam is to break w rappa, imag break delays a crazy amount, get rappa’s major traces and perhaps build juan for def/spd

Charmony is better than her signature without spd supports like Asta, Ruan Mei, e1 Huohuo or Messenger set. While 145 isn't necesseraly hard to achieve on 105 spd character with speed boots ("just" need +15 from substats, average of 3 on each piece), Charmony just makes it that easier since Rappa is heavily reliant on her ult anyway.
You can salvage all of your 3 and 4 star relics for xp crystals

The thing with rappa is that you want to break with her especially because you dont have much super break(a mechanic only available to a degree in her kit and a lot more with harmony trailblazer)

So to beat Sam. I did it with erudition only as well and its possible. I used Jade, Quinque, Serval and Argenti, i didnt used jingjuan because i dont have him. But its might be a good idea to use this team: Rappa, Jade, Quinque, Jingjuan. Also enhance what you can before the battle and use these food buffs: Prayer machine (This will give you tons of HP), and for DMG buff, try Disposable Kinetic cannon or arm (it both gives you ATK and CRIT stats). Also go in the battle with full ultimates: Im not sure if i did but wait with your ultimates until you can start breaking the boss. Im sure you can beat that boss already like this

So I'm also playing an Erudition only account and also stuck at Sam. I'm currently leveling up Rappa and I was hoping to see how you succeeded for inspiration. Looks like I have to wait for the next video. I will say with food buffs (but not fully levelled up traces and very meh relics) I can get Sam down to half or slightly over half hp so it has to be possible. The only tip I have for now is, as others have said, try to break Sam with Rappa when possible.
EDIT: I have since done it so here's what worked for me: I did not have optimal relics so these are not needed. My team was Serval (built for break and defence), Jing Yuan (build for damage), Rappa (built for break), Qingque (built for damage, I realized that Jade was doing nothing for me). Food buff used: Prayer Machine & Oak Cake Roll.

for Rappa, most of her damage comes from breaking the enemy or attacking weakness broken enemies (which is significantly boosted by Harmony Trailblazer which you can't use here unfortunately)
Himeko is also viable on break, just a fun fact I wanted to share here lol

With the 4-star Light Cone, Jade’s speed buff, and the +9 speed from traces you could get 186 SPD
The scary doll boss has several layers of toughness, breaking those one by one gives you the layers of shield. Like it happened during that fight, if you stack enough it CAN fully block the nuke, so I think once you get the hang of it, it should be a good one to go up against, since it has a built in support mechanic :)
I’ve seen a lot of HSR challenge accounts and there’s an item called the Prayer Machine iirc, which restores HP for you and your enemy for the first 5 turns that a lot of them use. You should try that out next episode
For rappa to do even more damage you would just need to unlock her skills mainly her talents “sea echo” and “withered leaf”. You need the 250 break effect for the relic she has equip. You also want her to attack the enemy in her ultimate state when the enemy’s toughness is fully gone for Super break to trigger
Rappa is going to help you her LC is insane.
also put on crit body on her instead of Attack.

The things you have not unlocked for rappa allows for super break,which means breaking and attacking already broken enemies is really good on her when you unlock that

You gotta do the event, it has no (or almost no) combat, it's just a lot of dialogue to click through and a rhythm minigame but you'll get so many level materials. Also rappa is supposed to be used in superbreak teams so you want to focus on her breaking the enemy, you also need her A4 trace to deal superbreak damage without HMC so she will be dealing pretty bad damage unless you break with her until you get that trace

Not saying you will keep grinding or even read this comment, but dont forget you're not doing "end game" content. You can use food to help bolster your defenses and theres a lot of shops that sell amazing food such as the giant eye ball in penacony that does all the dream scape stuff.
Or a lot of shops that sell recipes you could buy instead to give yourself enough health or defense for that fight.

Rappa’s major trace lets her deal super break damage, that is where her damage is especially since you have her sig LC and 200% BE
