    Story Summary :-
When Op's father dies, she is devastated. She has to leave a job she has just started to be with her family. She spends weeks sorting out her father’s affairs only to be faced with a big betrayal. It turns out that her father left his mansion to her stepsister who brags that he loved her more than op. Her stepmom and stepsis kick her out of her father’s house. She then has the lawyer read the clause to the will for her. Provided that her sister graduates college and marries a good man, the money is hers. Op finds out her sister is failing and cannot graduate that year. She gives her a year to fix herself and to graduate before she leaves the country. Op is a diplomat. She also got 10 million from her father and power of attorney over the will. When Op comes back, she finds out that her sister did not graduate and has been partying with her mom this whole time. So Op takes them to court and gets the house and her sister’s inheritance because she did not follow
the clause of the will. Mother and daughter end up on the street and become estranged from each other.

And who would report it? If Violetta had straightened up and got a legit degree but married a woman. Then OP gave her the money. The lawyer isn't going to keep track of stuff like that. He's got other clients to attend to. OP was given the will and instructions that's the end of his involvement. Violetta's mother sure as heck wouldn't report it. I doubt her aunt would either if she even knew about the clause.

But did the will state that OP should not do anything to help those two? Did the will state that OP was now the parent of her sister? Did the will state that OP should enjoy her sister's (or is it daughter's, now?) demise and estrangement from her only remaining biological parent? Violetta likely has ADHD and everyone ignored that in favor of watching her fail. ESH.

In this case.. I wouldn't even say OP is the issue. She didn't decide what her dad wrote in his will. The will is a legal document and by law has to be followed. Sure, Clare and Violetta can challenge the will, but that's really all they can do. The rest is up to the court.
OP could even choose to pursue legal action in terms of the fraudulent certificate and assault.

Man, that Step Mom and Step Sis were complete, calculating creatures. Its a blessing that the Dad didn't live long enough to see what a broken aad excise for a human his step daughter grew into - sounds like if he'd lived only a handful of months longer he would have seen the beginnings of her failure spiral. And that SM, what a piece of work. This next marriage, I am sure she's going to do a more thorough job of ghostwriting Sugadaddies Will to her liking. Poor OP got gypped out of a real, loving step family by a pair of selfish heartless gold diggers. Maybe SS got raised and ruined by SM, but the details are too thin on the ground to really form an opinion.

  • @AutismTakesOn

Tbh, OP is an ANGEL, and was more lenient than her father was. The father, I think, was a jerk about putting the marrying and non-gay parts in the will. Those are COMPLETELY unnecessary.
To his credit and OP's, though, the education requirement was COMPLETELY reasonable, and I believe OP wouldn't have sued her step-sister for being gay or not marrying, even though she had every legal right to do so. So really, all her family had to do was make sure her stepsister got an education, and she'd hand over the money and house. But, apparently, even with the decrease in requirements, OP's sister couldn't even do THAT.
I also think OP didn't do enough. She shouldn't have bailed out her stepsister until if and when (though this is wishful thinking), her stepsister would've given in to getting an education and seeing the point. I also think OP should've sued her stepmother after she slammed her head. That woman deserves to be in jail for that.
I know I've said this a LOT, but again, play stupid games, win stupid prizes. OP made the game easier to play, and her family STILL refused to do any work to get the house and money, showing that OP meant nothing to them, despite her doing so much to the point she fell back on sleep she needed. That's just SO disgusting. I can't see how anyone can blame OP for doing what she did. It was cruel, yes, but a cruel action against one that was equally, if not more so.

Yeah, I was surprised that OP didn't contact the attorney herself. She actually believed her Father loved SS more than her. She showed her insecurity by believing that. All she had to do was contacted the attorney and she could have avoided feeling disappointed in her father. SM and SS are just two more stupid people. All SS had to do was finished college, which was being paid😢 for, to get her inheritence. The Father wasn't stupid, he knew which daughter would become a success and which would not, but still gave her a chance. With the exception of the gay clause, his Will was quite generous if the SS and SM had just done what they were ask to do. Just that simple.

    • @hornetguy9063

@@robingibson6561gay clause wasn’t even not generous. Unless OP left out details, it was basically that she didn’t marry a woman. That’s a low bar; even if she were gay, she could probably just have a woman on the side and be cool. The fact that she was bisexual meant that she had no excuse to pursue a gay marriage, unless of course it was worth losing the house over.

The will is the legal directive to dispose of the estate. The daughter did a great job as executor. There was no one and out but multiple conversations and guidance that they might receive an inheritance. Real easy if they could show some self control. If the promise of wealth does not encourage one to step up to the requests attached then you are at fault. Just because one daughter did her duty did not obligate her to give anyone anything. Perhaps offering to pay for both stepmom and stepsis to go to rehab might be in order but until an addicted person admits to their selfishness and really wants to change, rehab is no more helpful than a spa visit.

However, both of my boys own their own legitimate business and work hard at them. Both of my boys are special needs and they fight everyday for acceptance from others outside of our family. They are successful in so many ways. Each wants to be an engineer and save for college without us asking. They do not know it’s paid for with prepaid and they won’t know until the time comes. They are also 8 and 12. This is how they are both made no intervention from their dad and I. They see us as hardworking parents, with a mom who is autistic too. They see how I fight for acceptance in a male dominated career path knowing my history of coming out of the construction industry with a fighting spirit. 😊

Stepmother leaving out the clause in the will says all that needs to be said about her. V was in college and failing before dad even died so grief wasn't the cause of her downward spiral. OP did what she was legally bound to do. Stepmother and V have no one but themselves to blame for any of this. Actions have consequences and both were old enough to know this.
Side note: I sincerely hope that clauses, such as being married and/or not being gay becomes illegal soon. That is so barbaric and manipulative.

    • @charlottelaney4659
      @charlottelaney4659 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

It would be great for stipulations like that to be illegal but there is a long way to go before they will actually inact the laws if they make them…and though the person who makes the will can say that they are dividing their assets a certain way, the spouse, biological children, or closest living relative can contest it if it is proven that the original will was made without sound mind or body. The laws are extremely clear on what grounds you can contest it, and if there is a probate period with an outside power of attorney in place from a family member it can go on forever or even just be dropped by the courts after a statute of limitations depending upon your state laws and federal laws. NOW IF they made the will with an outside inheritor then they can’t do anything unless the inheritor legally decides to not take anything in writing with a notary present. I know this from my own familial BS surrounding funerals. Even my dad’s will had stuff for me and my sister specifically, but because my mom is still alive she gets everything, and in my state that is how the law is made.

Is it barbaric to say a kid loses their inheritance if they get into a relationship with a convicted felon? Or a drug user? Her mother already had not helped. OP then gave her an ultimatum and left her with no support to get the qualification.
Step sister needed growing up and I have to say so did OP. The Will could have been followed where Violetta was helped to fulfill it. Where else was Violetta going to end up with an immediate fall to the streets. Sad. I guess the stipulations give andideaof the father and the daughter didn't fall to far from that tree!

That's not hypocrisy. Hypocrisy is the practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one's own behavior does not conform; pretense. Meaning if you say you hate peiple who are nurses, yet you are a nurse. That kind of thing. You can be ok with people living however they want, but would rather not to see your family in that situation. Would you say the father is a hypocrite for saying she shouldn't use drugs too? OP added that she didn't press for a time, so very easy to accomplish. Plus OP left them totally alone for 1 year, and Violetta immediately dropped out of college. Then gave a fake certificate, as if OP couldn't check for herself. I say they made their beds, and OP isn't cold-hearted, because she did bailout Violetta at least 2 after the court eviction.
