I am a Gambian who lives in the diaspora but this guy is on spot. first make sure you have residual income, secondly, don’t let ur guard down when it comes to money, and lastly find genuine people that can guide you and show you around.

I am surprised that Calvin and I have not met him and hope to soon. We will celebrate our 2nd anniversary of moving to The Gambia on November 5th. We are thoroughly enjoying our retirement and living here. I am a retired RN and vocalist. Please accept my invitation: My next show will be held at Kafe Zola on 10/28. what is needed is for people to check where they want to go and why, and more importantly, what effects massive migration can have on the country. Far too many natives, the Gambians, are still struggling, suffering and sleeping on dirt floors, while y'all are flocking to the smallest country in Africa because it benefits you more. Africa is big and beautiful, spread out evenly over the other 50+ countries to choose from

Colonised by Diasporans? How can that be?.The Jamaican brother was encouraging BLACK PEOPLE to COME BACK HOME TO AFRICA ...I am a Nigerian Muslima married to a German Muslim (Both Proffessionals) and we want to settle down in a PEACEFUL Black African country. We are still looking at Gambia and Kenya because ,Nigeria, IS NOT an option anymore. .
I hope that whichever of the two countries we eventually chose, we won't be seen as "Colonisers" but as people who want to live, mix with and CONTRIBUTE to the welfare and betterment of the people as well.

@sianpryce3685 - Why are you asking such a question on social media? Would it not make logical sense to ask that of the people who are building the hospital or even a person of Gambian authority who would know the legality of why the hospital is been built in the first place? Or better yet, find out who authorised the building of the hospital to find out why they authorised it. Some random person on TH-cam is unlikely to know the answer to your question. Or, could it be that you are asking the question to be controversial and don't really want to know the true answer to it?

@@sianpryce3685 - If the people building the hospital "had no comment", why do you think someone with no access or information to TAF would be able to give you that kind of information; especially as the hospital is still in its building phase?
As I said, you need to find out who authorised the building of the hospital to be able to find out from them who it will be catering to. If such basic information is hard to come by in the Gambia, then that's an issue with how The Gambia assimilate and disseminates information and how they think and don't think about keeping their people informed.
In the West, that type of information would be relatively EASY to find. All one would have to do, is go to the local town hall to find out about any new development. Also, the information would also be on the site of the company who is erecting the building as to who commissioned it so that people would know what it is purposed for.
A person from the Diaspora is NOT going to have that kind of information unless they are part of the planning and building team.

You say that crime is worse in the West!?! That is very true. However, do not forget that crime/ violence was nearly non-existent in Gambia until recently. Also, please do not say that Gambia today is the equivalent to JA when you were growing up. That is NOT true!! I may not be from JA but documentaries and history have shown the severe violence in JA since at least the 1970`s.
Auzubillah minashaitan nirajeem, for your words.
It breaks my heart to see this massive migration to Gambia, simply because it is cheaper and easier for you all to settle in than many other African countries. Our beautiful continent is big, spread out and roll up your sleeves. Don´t just choose a country because it is most convenient for your personal and selfish needs, have consideration for the natives.
Many Gambians are struggling, fighting poverty in many different ways, all whilst y´all are flocking to Gambia and attempting to live like kings and queens at the expense of others.
I have heard many say that back in their birthland you were all struggling, living in the rat race, that is true. However, no matter how much people struggle in the West, it can never compare to the intense struggles of the Gambian people
Astaghfirullah, The Gambia is yet again facing colonisation....May God protect us all.

So very sad you feel this way, and this is what causes division amongst African people, but we are glad some are welcoming Africans back home to help build Africa. I do not know any diaspora who has come back and not helped their community and friends in Gambia, I also do not know many that have not been scammed out of huge amounts of money by their fellow Gambians and some have left disheartened and many are still here trying to make it work.
There has always been crime and violence in Gambia, but not reported on as it is today, partly because of the censorship of the past government.
The size of Gambia makes the crime minimal compared to some other countries and it definately cannot be compared to Jamaica, because of the history of violence in Jamaica mostly stemmed from political regimes in order to control a country with strong people and assets.
Gambia and Jamaica have many similarities though and if you travel to Jamaica you will see this, and as he was saying this gives us a lot of hope because Jamaica's infrastructure in amazing and Gambia's will be too.

@@sistersinternational779 I am also welcoming you to Africa, however, what I am saying is that it is sad that a lot of the diaspora are mainly migrating to Kenya, Ghana and Gambia. Building Africa should entail more than predominately just 3 countries, with one of them being the smallest on the continent. Spread out evenly across our beautiful Africa!
I did not say that Gambia was without crime, I said that it has increased a lot recently.
Please, feel free to educate me on Jamaica, but I am asking you most kindly, please do not educate me on my country.
      Allahu Akbar

You have misplaced anger and should direct it more towards your leadership, education, and the influx of Chinese, Lebanese, and European invasions not black folks. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Do you know how many indians, Arabs and Lebanese are in the Gambia? Yet you don't call them colonisers. Just the few 1000s of diaspora blacks and you are opening your mouth talking rubbish. Infact as a Gambian, our country has room for 1000s of more diasporans that want to relocate. Don't mind this swixx11.

Be real, Gambian people have serious integrity issues. The Black males are scamming heavy there.
I really believe Gambia is a country that will require Diaspora to really create their own systems and networks.
More than some Gambians have integrity issues. I had my run ins over the years with Gambians claiming they were about business but were not but about scamming. The lack of sound infrastructure, makes it a place for older folks that will tolerate more from the people there, those that have low income, just want to play, and those that just want to just live very slow. Hard to get anything major or serious going there besides tourism because of the culture, lack of integrity in more than some locals.
      Just my experience

Gambia has people from all cultures and countries and they live in welcoming communities amongst each other. Many people have generations of white people living in the Gambia, they are not and should not be excluded because of the colour of their skin.
The tolerance levels are high in Gambia and respect is shown when it is given. Many Western and Arabic countries exploit Africa, so there is a movement for African people to rise up and be independent, strong and unite.
This should not affect a white person or make you feel not welcomed, you can celebrate the freedom and new found happiness alongside Africans if your intentions are good.
