Off-the-grid or off-grid is a characteristic of buildings and a lifestyle designed in an independent manner without reliance on one or more public utilities. Eric moved from the USA to Ghana and have previously built sustainable off grid homes prior to deciding to put this sustainable community together.
The land is located in the rural, lush and farming area of the eastern region in Ghana, approximately 1.5 hrs away from the capital city Accra / Kotoka international airport.
The land was completely untouched when Eric decided to purchase and build on it. Now they are building beautiful sustainable off grid homes, with solar electricity, food garden, Biodegradable toilet etc to allow people to live a very self sufficient life.

Wonderful development. I would caution encouraging the monkeys. As in Barbados, they will bite all of the fruit and eat only a small bit. So be careful of monkeys returning. We have a difficult, difficult in Barbados trying to harvest our fruits for human consumption for quite some time due to the monkey over population.

This is a very good deal for those coming into Africa, no 1 you will not find those prices anywhere else, no 2 security is very important, not everyone is a good person on the continent.

Most AA still live in the southern states. We had to cluster in Urban areas after slavery in order to have protection from 😢KKK and be able to work. It wasn't by choice until later because of opportunities. Also, you need to study history before opening your mouth to make such a broad ignorant statement!

Being off-grid is wonderful, but an edible landscape. Wow! This is a major pull for me.

Just goes to prove that we in the diaspora should take our talents, ideas, education/skills and experiences to the mother land. Ghana homes should be constructed with an outdoor "dirty kitchen" as is done in the Philippines. An outdoor kitchen area attached to the house.
