    Manual is fun but dangerous if you mess up (I'm a rookie). Automatics are boring and makes you lazy but is easier in the knee. Both has its pros and cons but the indistry is going auto for a reason

      I know this is an old comment, but the industry is going with autos because this new breed of "drivers" are stupid. They can't drive a Toyota Camry, but these mega carriers put them in a truck.

    This seems confusing as hell. I rather have a full manual with clutch pedal or a full auto with no clutch pedal, less chance for damaging transmission.

    My 18 speed Fuller automatic is the worst transmission I've ever had in a truck. It's a tri axle dump truck that I use on site quite a bit and its so damn harsh and slow to shift from D to reverse that it makes the truck almost undrivable. It holds the first 3 gears too long and revs out to an almost ridiculous degree. It inexplicably downshifts at low speed while I'm coasting without my foot on the brake and just about puts my head into the windshield. Reverse is comically harsh and in-precise....shift into reverse and give a throttle input but the truck goes nowhere....2 seconds later (even while giving it the most minimal amount of throttle possible) The truck picks up and takes off in reverse which makes it almost impossible to inch the truck back in reverse to, for example : back up to the edge of a trench to dump a load off an edge. I find myself screaming at the truck multiple times a day because It will not even remotely do what I'm asking it to. I'm an experienced driver btw...The trans simply doesn't cooperate. Just an awful design.

    I have the same thing in my 2000 century class. But every now and then, when I come to a stop and its in 2nd gear, then I try to pull off again she won't move or go to 3rd gear.......can I get some insight?

    (how) do you back to a dock with a Kenworth t680 semi auto magic, when the dock leans away from the dock. push on both pedals and feather the brake pedal.

    You can lead a horse to water but you can not make it drink use manuel transmission . Do not be lazy.

    • @DylanFarstveet
      @DylanFarstveet 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      some people are not good with manuals just because people feel more comfortable than automatic doesn't mean they're lazy I personally suck at driving stick shift and would rather use an automatic transmission that I'm comfortable with, rather than get in an accident because I don't know what I'm doing does that mean I'm lazy?

      @@DylanFarstveet So if you wanted to be a Trucker you have to show trucking company that you know how up and down shift . If you did not do this you would not get hired another show your skills.

      @@DylanFarstveet I have been a TRUCKER all my life. Since 1979 and when you would apply for a trucking job the owner of the trucks. Would take for a road test if you didn't shift gears right you wouldn't get the job. Another words they didn't want you to tear the gear box. They wanted to see your skills Now days any one can drive trucks with the automatic transmission.

    If it's an automatic transmission why is there a clutch pedal? Seems like the person really know what they were talking about with the automatic transmission.

    • @brucecockcroft8173

      Only for pulling away if in manual mode and keeping the truck stationary at stop streets/robots

    • @FFT-J
      @FFT-J 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is so weird. I have an eaton autoshift transmission in a 4900ex i drive, but there is no clutch pedal. The “automatic” transmission compresses the clutch and moves the gear into place, and then you can feel it release - feels JUST like you are driving a manual. But i don’t get why this one shows a clutch.

    Reason why there buying it with automated is bcuz they can't drive a manual transmission, if they could they would be driving a manual semi- truck.
