Let's not forget the amazing feature? Always in the shop for warranty claims. If your gonna buy an automatic let it be allison! If NOT just keep the manual tansmission!
@@yardlimit8695 even the kenworth sale rep will tell you the same thing, manuals dont get warrantied and allison like never has problems, but ultrashift has recall now!
Well I just read the book that came with the truck and it specifically has a “blended pedal” operation where both need to be pressed so the whole “ no two footing” goes out the window. Junk anyway.
Eaton makes great manual transmissions, if shifted properly it will easy outlast engine. Unfortunately, all those automated versions are total junk. I've tried 10 with paccar, 13 with paccar and cummins, all have same issues. What i mean by this is this: transmission will not skip gears, backing is always different sometimes it goes smooth and other time it will lunch like crazy, D mode shifts gears too late or too early - it should be programmed to keep engine rpm in peak torque and hp, hesitation when shifting, missed shifts and grinding and much more. I don't want to start writing what sounds come out of tranny with some miles on it.
These transmissions suck they're worthless their pain in the butt to drive if you going to go automatic go Allison it's the best way to go much more driver-friendly and way more reliable and
I see now days the trucks shows the driver how to shift so sad. I would like for eaton to have me demo a 9speed with 3406 CAT. I will blow this so called new trans up or downhill remember You are the Truckdriver. PS dont be lazy EATON GIVE ME SOME FEED BACK
it sounds to me like you need to go to college to drive one of these things.....don't do this,,,,,,,don't do that,,,,,,,,do this ,,,,,,,,,,,do that,,,,,,,,,,,, give me a 13 or an 18 speed and be done with it...........what the hell is this country coming to.........all in the name of global warming and saving the earth...........working in port newark n.j. most of the drivers don't even speak english,,,,,,,,they can't even drive a 5 speed mack without resting their foot on the clutch pedal all day long and then come in at the end of the day with a low power complaint.............the power is not the problem,,,,,,,,,,,it's the driver ,,,,,,,,,,,there's no more clutch left.................and do you think that these people are going to learn the correct procedures to drive one of these.............not in my experience........good luck eaton..
after 35 years of trucking many transmissions l must have got a lemon these things SUCK. slow to shift jerky no gentle back up slams into trailers. take away the clutch pedal takes away my ability to control the truck. .
I can drive any truck, with just about any transmission, including a 6x4, and I don't have a problem with an automatic Volvo. In fact, I'm driving one right now. As long as I don't have to pull-start it, of course. I'm not out here to fit my appearance into anybody's image of what they think a "real" trucker should drive. I'm out here to get the job done, no matter what. I'm not a fan of a Volvo engine, but the truck and transmission are just fine. That being said, I do think that a driver should at least know how to operate a manual transmission. The ones still being made, at least.

antor,,,,,,,,,,sounds like a good idea to me too

have to agree on that.
The advantage is an Eaton-Fuller 13-speed or 18-speed manual.
no such thing as an advatage wiht those except being able to act like a cool old timer while getting 5mpg and grinding gears
800,000 miles on mine and love it! Will never buy another manual again.
lol this is going to require driver EDUCATION just like before....which wont happen. drivers will be told "its an automatic, just drive!"
Wrong.
over rev protection.. had me wondering of steep hills. is it going to row the gears upwards to death or what
It’s built not to do that. I’ve pulled a 10% grade in my 18spd ultrashift, I was pulling bout 35 in 15th gear
What is improper tandem sliding. ?
I learned a lot. Thank you for this great informational video like always @EatonVideos.
Is there creep mode for reverse?

How hard would it be to replace a manual transmission with this transmission
Hard you don’t have the wiring harness for it
very good video. thanks

What is clutch actuator does?
performs the clutch pedal function; releasing and engaging the clutch.
No thanks these transmissions are LESS THAN SATISFACTORY.
Indeed. The clutch replacement costs alone.
Using it for driver training they are new to ultra shifts
Is this available in a 18 speed?
Sam O yes it is
👍

EATON GIVE ME SOME FEED BACK
Try Manual Transmission Better Than Ultrashift

Like always warranty won’t cover shit ( oh it’s driver fault)
