You cried at the beginning, don't worry, seen this a few hundred times and it still gets me especially the hospital seen "win"...that tears me up every time. Such a damn great movie.
Mate, you know I'm already a fan. But I'll tell you this, I was having a particularly bad day and decided to take a break and tune into TH-cam. And there you were. I'm 54, so I've seen this movie a zillion times and it's one of my favorites, but watching your reaction to it, with your genuineness and infectious giggle, actually turned my day around. I didn't view Apollo as an enemy, merely a formidable opponent. This movie just solidified their mutual respect for each other. In the sport of boxing, I think a certain amount of smack talk is not only expected, but necessary.
It’s all such a testament to the love Rocky and Adrian have for each other. Unless she’s on board, he can’t move forward with any enthusiasm. They have to be on the same page…partners.
I actually enjoy watching this one more than the first one. Not just because of the ending but because of all the highs and lows. The emotions. It’s just amazing.
I love the first one for setting the foundation and building this story, but I just love this sequel.
The best one by far and to me one of the most inspirational movie ever.

Carl Weathers really nails his role as Creed in this movie as well. He showed incredible passion to prove the doubters wrong - he took the first fight too lightly and it nearly cost him his title. It wound up costing him his reputation, and his singular obsessive focus with redeeming himself was believable and on full display by Weathers.
His sportsmanship at the end sort of completes his arc. He couldn't do the thing he wanted to do, but still showed the sportsmanship to raise Rocky's hand and encourage him with the pat on the head.
Love this movie so much.
This is by far my favorite movie in the Rocky series. I get goosebumps every time I hear Adrienne say "Win". I love this movie!

For all those Aussies out their Carl Weathers (Apollo Creed) was an American Football player for the Oakland Raiders in the 1970/71, but didn't last long and went into acting . Weathers played in seven games for the Raiders in 1970, helping them win the AFC West Division title, on their way to the first-ever AFC Championship Game. Weathers only played in one game in 1971, before the Raiders released him.
People who have never seen the Rocky movies poke fun at them and then they watch a couple and get hooked. Boxing is just what is going on, it is not what the movies are all about.

I really enjoyed this reaction video. It was more enjoyable to me to see you get so hyped just like I did as a kid when this first came out. What made me LOVE the Rocky series is the fact that Rocky was a down to Earth kinda guy, and even after at first getting caught up in the money, he eventually came back down to Earth. Adrienne is his anchor. His acceptance speech and him saying "other than my kid being born", and him remembering to thank Mick....best coach ever...RIP Burgess Meredith...one of my all time favorite character actors. He firmly established himself in cinematic history as "Mick", and who doesn't love a tough old man coach???

As much as I really love the first movie, this one was definitely better. And it's one of my top favorites in the franchise.
Definitely more emotional. Especially with the scenes with Rocky at the hospital, waiting for Adrian to wake up.
Fun Fact: The baby that played newborn Rocky Jr. was Sylvester Stallone's real life son Seargeoh.
The fight at the end is one of my all-time favorite Rocky fights.
Definitely looking forward to "Rocky 3" next. It's another one of my favorites in the series.

The Rocky movies were huge parts of our childhoods from late 70s into the 80s. Hv heard many say Rocky 2 is boring, their least fav. I disagree. Rocky, Adrian, Paulie, Micky & Apollo are such great characters. It's great to see younger people get into franchises that Gen X grew up w/like Star Wars, Star Trek & Rocky. Don't feel weird abt getting emotional. There's a lot of those moments in Rocky. I'm enjoying your reactions. Keep going!!!

Based on visual cues, the run that Rocky takes with the kids is longer than a marathon. Also, Philadelphia is one of the best cities on the planet and a ton of fun.
I know at least a half dozen people who got to be extras in the first 2 movies. It's a point of pride with many Philadelphians.
The turtles, Cuff & Link, are still Stallone's pets.
And yes, there is a statue of Rocky at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It is kept at the bottom of a side staircase, but they bring it up top for special occasions.

Some people say this is better than the original, that's an argument I won't have. Regardless this is how a sequel should be made. Rocky and Rock II are the best in the franchise - then 3 and 4...in what ever order you want for them as far as good. I love all four. V not so much Balboa is oaky.
I can't say I didn't feel Rocky's trepidation when he told Mick he was hoping Apollo wouldn't show up for the rematch😂lol

Great reaction dude....I like the further relationships between all the characters in this sequel...and even Apollo isn't that bad of a guy, he just let his own personal pride and ego get the better of him, however Rocky wanted to win the title more than Apollo wanted to keep it and Rocky won it this time. Looking forward to Rocky III next....
If you haven't already, you should check Sylvester Stallone's other most iconic character 'John Rambo' starting with the first film in that other award winning franchise, 'First Blood' (1982).

I think Rocky has the right idea about the roles of a husband and wife. The fact is men are more cut out for hard work than women, and when you have both the mother and the father working they aren't going to raise a good and stable kid. The man should work, and the woman should tend to the home and emotionally support the man. This has worked for thousands of years, it was only a few decades ago that this has been questioned

Paulie is a real schmuck. But, keep this in mind; not to excuse his schmuckiness, but this movie is set in the mid-1970s Philadelphia. At that time, the U.S. was in a deep recession. Major cities, including NYC and probably Philadelphia as well, were completely bankrupt. City employees were laid off by the thousands, manufacturing facilities closing month after month, joblessness and despair were rampant. I feel like Paulie, rather than just a human character, is also kind of a personification of Philly itself, and how Rocky reflects with it.

Creed on the other hand, waste of time.
The second movie is everything that first is not -> and in a bad way. Melodramatic: Feelings that can be shown simply are drawn out and hammered again and again. Poor writing that went for quips over substance. Terrible, drawn-out and unrealistic boxing footage. Repetitious: using the same themes and overdone rather than being original. The original Rocky was a great film because it was authentic: Stallone was very much in the same mind-space as his character, seeing his dreams slipping away and investing everything into one last shot. After the justified success of the first Rocky, Stallone was no long in that space, and it shows in all the sequels: none come close to the original, though some are more watchable than others.
