I cry every time I see Mickey die. When I was younger, I went to see this in a theater. I remember, when Mickey died, we could hear this girl sobbing uncontrollably in the theater. It was a very powerful scene. But the killer in the movie was Apollo showing up and proposing he train Rocky. How can you beat that? The nemesis in the first two movies is now in YOUR corner. One line I absolutely love (which you didn't leave in the edit) was when Apollo went into the ring and was rebuffed by Clubber. He goes over to Rocky and says, "Do everybody a favor and knock this chump out." And this was before they teamed up. Apollo was, in the first two films, the nemesis, but he was never as obnoxious as Clubber, so now he telling Rocky to knock out Clubber. That's one of the best lines I can think of in any movie.
I was 9 when my late mom took me to see it in a theater. I owe her my love for cinema, for Rocky and for my favorite actor/writer/director Sylvester Stallone.
this one may be the most underrated one in the franchise. Absolutely love this and I've loved your reactions to the first 2! Never been this early either, so thank you notifications
Well damn O, thanks so much for not making us wait for the next installment of this legendary series. Frankly for me personally, I don't go past III...you might find as I did, that IV went a bit off the rails. Love your reactions, you know I'm a fan... Keep up the great work all around. Ah okay I never know what I’ll like or dislike since I have an objective point of view on the quality of a film but I also get super immersed and sometimes overlook stuff like bad writing so who knows. Also I love that quote! So true, looking at a sunrise rn with a coffee. Love life ☺️

Mickey dying tore my heart out… but seeing Apollo working with Rocky to train him was indeed epic. Apollo was the trainer Rocky needed after Mick died. As always Adrian is the perfect companion to Rocky. Giving him the spark he needed. Love this series so much. Great reaction as always. Looking forward to seeing you react to the other entries as well.
I coach boxing and muay thai and one of our many homework assignments is to watch the entire rocky series. Not to learn how to fight, but to understand the power of the heart. Its strong enough to drive you to super human levels. It can also crush you to the point of no return. Rocky is all heart. I'm glad you're finally watching these films. Enjoy sir.
Thank you so much for your reactions and comments for ROCKY 3 . My favorite scenes 1) When Adrien and Rocky had their talk at the beach 2) When Adrien was making the light out of where they were sleeping and comparing it to a honeymoon.... she is amazing and 3) When Apolo was training ROCKY in every scene . My Not so favorite scenes 1) When Micky died ...that scene added drama and conflict for Rocky which is what every Rocky movie has 2) When Paulie was talking smack in the gym and 3) When Clubber was being disrespectful to Adrein in the crowd . I really appreciate your reactions for the ROCKY franchise and your obvious emotional investment .....makes this so much more to enjoy.
Fun reaction per usual! Rocky and Apollo being a couple of besties in this is such a great payoff for their relationship 🥹 The way Adrian knows Rocky so completely to support him the way he needs/ get him out of his headspace is the best thing ever. And I’m so impressed with how they progress Rocky’s character with each film. It’s like we see him for who he is, flaws and all, and still can’t help but root for him. He has to be one of the best written characters in film 👌
What a great reaction. I loved that Rocky and Apollo worked together and became close friends. Rocky inspired me and my best friend to start working out when we were in high school and of course Apollo Creed looked awesome as well and so both of them inspired us to workout like crazy. Then when Rocky 3 came out and we saw Rocky and Apollo working together we just went crazy. We both kept working out well into our 40's and early 50's. I'm 61 now and don't get to the gym like I used to but Rocky changed my life and Sylvester Stallone is still an inspiration to this day. I can't wait for your reaction to Rocky 4. Oh, and you will find out who won the boxing match between Rocky and Apollo in the first Creed movie. I love your reactions and can't wait to find out which of the Rocky movies ends up being your favorite.
Great reaction! 😊 This is another one of my favorite movies in the "Rocky" franchise. Mr. T as Clubber Lang is one of the series' best antagonist. And it's the beginning of Rocky and Apollo Creed's friendship. Fun Fact: The Rocky statue remains in Philadelphia to this day. The talk between Rocky and Adrian on the beach is one of my favorite moments. And this movie has one of my favorite training montages and final fight scenes. 31:13 Don't worry. You will eventually find out who won that fight. Not going to say in which movie though. Looking forward to your next reaction. 😊
In past interviews Sylvester Stallone states that Apollo won the private fight. Basically Apollo is the more technical fighter. Where Rocky is the one who is a bruiser type and can Go the distance. They considered having the fight in the movie but they left it to the people's imagination.
One of my favorite movie franchises!! Rocky and Adrian are my favorite movie couple period!! Love your reactions and i always look forward to the next!! ❤️
This is one of my favorite Rocky reactions, and I've watched them all! I love watching people experience this franchise for the first time. I felt nervous for you through the first fight with Clubber leading up to Mickey's death. HAHAHA! Your reactions were wonderful. Looking forward to you watching the rest, especially Rocky Balboa.
Love Rocky 3, it will always be special to me. The first rocky movie I saw in the theater with my older cousin (RIP). I had this recorded on VHS in the 80's and saying the dialogue with it it drove my sisters nuts. Ah good times, Adrian beach speech is priceless.
I've heard it said that Mr. T is one of the sweetest, most generous & charitable guys IRL. Knowing that, it makes it so much more enjoyable to see him portray such a hateful character.
For his climactic fight against Rocky Balboa's antagonist, Clubber Lang, in the third installment of the sports drama film series, Stallone took his body fat down to an alarming 2.8%. Weighing only 166 pounds at the time, The the lowest he ever weighed.
Now when you get to the IV, I suggest you do the theatrical release. There is another version that came out, Rocky IV: Rocky vs. Drago - The Ultimate Director's Cut, I believe came out in 2021 where Stallone recut it. I liked it, check it out later, but see the original release first.
I don't want to say much just incase there's a certain reactor seeing this comment. There's something they cut out of the director's cut that I love. Both versions are good on their own account. I do like the flow of the cut version (2021) better.@@Jason-bk3nl
Love your Rocky reactions! Would you consider doing the 5 movie Rambo series next? Sylvester Stallone wrote all of them, and directed the 4th one. Just as surprising of a series, with a ton of heart like Rocky. They came out almost simultaneously with the Rocky movies, with the first one coming out right after Rocky 3.
1. My favorite of the Rocky movies. Rocky IV is almost as good as this. 2. Where I lived had that pinball machine and the Playboy machine where I kicked the crap out of both of them. (Top 5 scores) 3. Micky's death shakes everyone. 4. "Eye of the Tiger" was from a band called Survivor. Their other hit was "High on You". 5. The woman swooning over Rocky that Micky chases away was Sly's wife IRL 6. Kudos to Mr. T for playing a man with absolutely no redeeming qualities.
Great reaction mate. The next one 'Rocky IV' is another good one. Yes there are two cuts of that film, but I recommend watching the original theatrical version first (then maybe the 'Rocky Vs. Drago: Rocky IV Director's Cut' afterwards). I personally prefer the theatrical version because of nostalgia for me (but the Director's Cut version is also very good too - can't go wrong with either version). In that one, martial arts superstar turned actor, Dolph Lundgren (whom Stallone would work with again in The Expendables movies) plays the opposing fighter, Ivan Drago. Some more Rocky III & Stallone trivia... In 1982, Stallone had two number one movies at the box office, both in May & October of that year, Rocky III & First Blood (the first Rambo movie)... And I liked both of them. Mr. T (Clubber Lang) is a very nice guy in person and does a lot to help younger underprivileged children around the world. He is also well known for his character on the 80s action TV series 'The A-Team' (which his performance in this movie got him the job for the TV show....Relax, he's a good guy in the show) & his Saturday morning cartoon show 'Mister T'. His lifelong catchphrase has always been "I pitty the fool!". He even had an 80s breakfast cereal too (which can be seen in the movie 'Pee Wee's Big Adventure')...When Mr. T took his mother to the the premier of the movie and when the scene where Cluber says mean things to Adrian, Mr. T mother got a little upset with him and said "I raised you better than that". He had to actually explain to his mom that he was only acting and that him and Talia Shire (Adrian) were very good friends throughout the shoot & afterwards too. It wasn't until Rocky III, that WWE wrestling legend 'Hollywood' Hulk Hogan (Thunderlips) became household name, thanks to Stallone casting him in this movie....Also both Hulk Hogan & Mr. T were in the first Wrestlemaina main event (against Roddy Roddy Piper & Paul Orndorff/Mr. Wonderful, with singer Cyndi Lauper managing). Sylvester Stallone's brother, Frank Stallone, is also an actor and a very talented Golden Globe nominated singer. He sang the song 'Pushin' and even has a cameo as the hotel band singer in this movie. Frank Stallone would sometimes sing songs for some of his brothers other films (such as Rambo: First Blood Part II, Over The Top, Stayin Alive & The Expendables 2) The woman who says "Can I get a kiss?" at the hotel gym was Stallone's real life wife at the time. Burgess Meredith (Mickey) would sometimes break character and pull practical jokes just to make people laugh on set and he would even break out into his Penguin routine just for laughs too. (Burgess Meredith played the villain, The Penguin, on the 60s Batman TV series - staring Adam West as Batman & Burt Ward as Robin).
I don't know if you've shot your Rocky IV reaction yet, but if you haven't, keep in mind there are two different versions of the film, the theatrical cut and the director's cut. The theatrical cut is a fun, exciting flick that takes an 80s music video montage approach to telling the story. The recent director's cut is a stronger flick in terms of character and emotion and is closer in tone to Rocky 1 and 2. I personally prefer the director's cut, but honestly think it would be great of you to react to both versions since they're such different approaches to the same story.
You are soooo invested!!! And I LOVE it! 😂😂😂😂 your shadowing the movie had me dying. Can’t wait for Rocky IV which is my all time favorite after the 1st. Great reaction! FYI I’m from Philly and it’s hilarious because he’s like a hometown hero. YES we’re that delusional and wrapped up in a fictional character 😂. The statue is real and it’s on display in the city.
I don't know how the narrative of Apollo being older got started? Rocky was 30 when they first fought and Apollo was considered still in his prime. So if anything they were maybe the same age. Stallone was 2 years older than Weathers in real life.
I’m ready for Rocky 4.. best movie soundtracks in this one. Born in ‘79 and grew up watching Schwarzenegger, Stallone etc and loving these reactions. Movies back then are far more superior than Marvel and DC. 😂
What's funny is this was Mr T's first movie and made him famous. He became so well loved because of this movie especially In the 80's. This movie also put Hulk Hogan the wrestler on the map
Way late to the party on this one but if the full fanfare of Gonna Fly Now starts playing, Rockys heart is in it. One of the best things the Rocky movies do is consistently using Gonna Fly Now and Going the Distance for certain story beats across the movies (though, interestingly enough, the first time the celebratory sounding part of Going the Distance plays when Rocky gets knocked down in the second to last round, pretty much every time after it's when Rocky is triumphant). It helps create a consistent shorthand so they don't have to specifically be told things straight away and just hit the music to convey something like "Rocky is all in now" of Gonna Fly Now.
I fought professional mma... It's a mangers job to put the right fights together...not guys to take a dive. Rocky fought legit guys but every once in a while special fighters come along. Mic seen this kid was that guy and Rocky wasn't ready for him because he didn't have the edge... BTW..Mr.T is a super guy and his mom walked out of the theater during the premier saying she didn't teach her son talk to a woman like that! Mr. T is legit a great guy!
Damn bro, I have a fold phone and the corner of your room in th3 background is right dead center where my phone folds so your corner room line made it look like the fold line on my phone was messing up lol. I was like damn my phone is messing up, but took me a few minutes to actually realize it was the corner line of your room lol.
I never saw Apollo as a bad guy. His trash talk was always just a professional requirement, and, once he knew him, he always respected Rocky. Clubber is scum, though. Team Rockapollo all the way!
I've heard that at the movies premier Mr. T's mom was really upset with how her son was in the movie. He had to explain to her that he was only acting. In real life Mr. T seems like a cool guy.
Mr.T (Clubber Lang) and Hulk Hogan (Thunderlips) are two great icon of the '80ies. As rude as he seems in the movie, Mr.T is one of the kindest person on this planet.
At the beginning of the 1st rocky movie there is a picture of Paulie in a navy uniform on a ship. I believe that he may have been portraying a navy seal in this movie, hence the messed up, drunken, lost soul. Which would coincide with the early and dangerous years of the Vietnam war. I have had many friends and acquaintances very similar to Pauly over the years. A LOT like Rambo! Except Pauly is on drugs and drinking. It's kind of the reason why Rambo was harassed. Cops didn't want that shit or hippies in their towns or cities. Like the song says, "AND THE SIGN SAID, LONG HAIRED, FREAKY PEOPLE NEED NOT APPLY!" The 70s were so different man.
The rocky movies are sort of based on the greatest of all time muhammid ali, rocky 2 was really the fight with joe frazier, joe did not come out for the last round, they beat each other to a pulp, even Ali, said he nearly died in that fight, some difference for the movie, as its rocky, the 3rd fight with clubber, is, the fight he had with george formeman, Foreman was a beast, never went past 3 rounds, Ali took everything foreman had, for 8 rounds, taunted him, kept saying is that all you got george, they called the fight the rpoer dope, it was believed that the ropes were slack, so ali could do his trade mark lean back, take less of the puch and make foreman miss, untill the 8th round, foreman was punched out, ali spun of the ropes, knocked him out
fantastic films, but rockys boxing style is ridiculous, its like just let your own head be a punchbag for 11 rounds, and then hit him LOL thats genius fantastic reaction as always EDIT: ok he dodged a bit in this one lol
I agree, but I've long wondered if maybe Rocky was NEVER a good fighter and that's why his career never took off. He's just a talentless nobody that kinda got really lucky with a promotional shot at the title. What makes him special is that he never gives up. Rocky was so bad that Apollo barely trained for their first fight and Rocky still couldnt beat him. Apollo only let Rocky have a shot at the title because: 1.)The fight venue and match was already SET but his ACTUAL opponent became unavailable to fight (I think because of an injury, but i dont remember) just 4 months before the fight date. 2.)It was a 4th of July fight, so it was LOT of money involved 3.)Apollo was a 1st rate promoter and businessman that knew how to work the public so he didnt want to CANCEL the fight 4.)Apollo only picked Rocky because the name "Italian Stallion," would sell tickets.
This movie started Mr T's career AND Hulk Hogan's. Hogan's promoters didn't want him to appear in the movie, but he did it anyway, and they fired him. After scoring a big hit as Thunderlips, they were forced to take him back. By the way, have you reacted to the Lackadaisy pilot yet
Vince McMahon Sr didn't want Hulk Hogan to do this movie, so he let him go from the then WWF (now WWE). Over a year later, Vince Jr took over and got Hogan back.
The the statue was real but the museum refused it and Do you really not know who Hulk Hogan is. He was actually fired from the WWF (currently WWE) for coming out in this movie.

I don't know how the narrative of Apollo being older got started? Rocky was 30 when they first fought and Apollo was considered still in his prime. So if anything they were maybe the same age. Stallone was 2 years older than Weathers in real life.
There’s a 5 year gap which in the boxing world is huge.
It’s been fun watching you become a Rocky fan. You’re gonna love Rocky IV
Can’t wait!!
You know what people say about Rocky IV... Go for it!
Nice reaction mate. Enjoy your vids. Hey I really dig that mug you're using. Gotta get me one!
😆 I bought it for the channel. So ridiculously large!
Hahaha! Yep, Philly girl here & the statue is still in Philly. We love Rocky.
I’m ready for Rocky 4.. best movie soundtracks in this one. Born in ‘79 and grew up watching Schwarzenegger, Stallone etc and loving these reactions. Movies back then are far more superior than Marvel and DC. 😂
Rocky IV…let’s go!
What's funny is this was Mr T's first movie and made him famous. He became so well loved because of this movie especially In the 80's. This movie also put Hulk Hogan the wrestler on the map
Friend, I applaud your reactions... I like them... Greetings from Guadalajara, Mexico
You won't find out who won the last fight until Creed which is a great movie
Looking forward to it!
Watch all Rocky movies and Creed, won't regret it, Great reaction!!!
Great reaction, mad that Hulk Hogan and Mr T were well known on the release and you didn't recognise them at all.
Cool.
🤷♂️ cheers.
The statue was actually in Philadelphia until a few years ago when they took it down
"How much do ya think he eats?"
"About 200 and 2lbs."
"Weighing in at 202lbs..." 😂 classic!
Saying clubber had no likeable qualities had me laughing
So Mr. T was discovered during a Best Bouncer contest and one of the things they had to do was see who could throw someone the farthest.
The big blonde wrestler you thought seemed kinda sweet is Hulk Hogan! Arguably the most well known wrestler ever, maybe only rivaled by The Rock!
😆😆 that’s great. Probably good I’m not in the centre then!
Paulie does actually throw a pretty good punch 👊. Them arms can really swing, he should have been the main character 😂
Burt Young who played Paulie was a boxer and his record was 17-0 as a professional he was trained by Cus D'Amato who trained Mike Tyson, much later.
It is really interesting to see your reaction to the films Robocop 2 and Robocop 3. These are cool movies 🔥🔥👍
The answer you need , for the third fight , exists in first Creed movie !.But first the whole Rocky's franchise
Eye of the tiger was specifically made for this movie and obviously you know it was a hit song
@31:23...The answer to that question is in the ROCKY FRANCHISE...Keep watching..
The statue is real. It's been there since the movie. I think they moved it slightly before it was permanently set there.
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.
Mr.T (Clubber Lang) and Hulk Hogan (Thunderlips) are two great icon of the '80ies.
As rude as he seems in the movie, Mr.T is one of the kindest person on this planet.
You gotta watch the next 6 films. Rocky 4&5, Rocky Balboa, and the three Creed movies
Burt Young who played Paulie did one tour in the marine corp from 1957-59
"Paulie" Burt Young was a boxer.
The rocky movies are sort of based on the greatest of all time muhammid ali, rocky 2 was really the fight with joe frazier, joe did not come out for the last round, they beat each other to a pulp, even Ali, said he nearly died in that fight, some difference for the movie, as its rocky, the 3rd fight with clubber, is, the fight he had with george formeman, Foreman was a beast, never went past 3 rounds, Ali took everything foreman had, for 8 rounds, taunted him, kept saying is that all you got george, they called the fight the rpoer dope, it was believed that the ropes were slack, so ali could do his trade mark lean back, take less of the puch and make foreman miss, untill the 8th round, foreman was punched out, ali spun of the ropes, knocked him out
I heard the same thing you did. I wish I was alive and paying attention during the Ali years, then I could REALLY see the similarities.
fantastic films, but rockys boxing style is ridiculous, its like just let your own head be a punchbag for 11 rounds, and then hit him LOL thats genius fantastic reaction as always EDIT: ok he dodged a bit in this one lol
Apollo only let Rocky have a shot at the title because:
1.)The fight venue and match was already SET but his ACTUAL opponent became unavailable to fight (I think because of an injury, but i dont remember) just 4 months before the fight date.
2.)It was a 4th of July fight, so it was LOT of money involved
3.)Apollo was a 1st rate promoter and businessman that knew how to work the public so he didnt want to CANCEL the fight
4.)Apollo only picked Rocky because the name "Italian Stallion," would sell tickets.
@@slchance8839 good points, well taken
2:26 : That's a disqualification in real life, Clubber ~ deliberately hitting someone on his knees ~
As the Searles goes on it tells you who won the 3rd fight in CREED #1😊
Rocky IV opens with this same ending scene, and you can see who wins....
You need to watch all of the movies Rocky is in including CREED and CREED #2😊
The Rocky/Creed series eventually tells us who wins but you won't get the answer right away
That was Hulk Hogan
Im curious as to why Rocky stopped at 4 on this channel?
Also hoping for the Rambi series
Check out Cinderella man next my favorite boxing movie
Except Rock didn't have the Eye of the Tiger in films 1 or 2.
The the statue was real but the museum refused it and Do you really not know who Hulk Hogan is. He was actually fired from the WWF (currently WWE) for coming out in this movie.
You'll find out who won the 3rd fight when you get to Creed.
Ooooh okay
@@thecocoacouch wait till you see R4. Blow your mind.
you aint so tough ... LOL fuck gotta be one of my favorite series
You have to wait until CREED 1 to find out who won that fight at the end.
