after learning that snow leopards, Tai Lung, and Tigers, Tigress, are closer genetically than snow leopards to regular leopards all I see is a big brother/cousin bullying his little sister/cousin whenever I watched the Tai Lung and Tigress fight
Yeah that’s a cool way to think about it. If you really earnt it, it tells you basically you’re already enough, you’re a badass 😂 and well, we saw how Tai Lung felt about it lol
@@thecocoacouch "It's nothing" He says as he sees the scroll. Sure it can mean he thinks the scroll is just empty, or, it means he thinks the reflection of himself is "nothing". That's good symbolic writing
@typo1345 damn I never thought about that. That makes it way sadder that he spent his whole life striving for something he didn't even really ever need or even want tbh, he just wanted to make his dad proud. And in his quest for approval, he never lived for himself to develop his own destiny and dreams. This movie is a masterpiece.
If we take Dustin Hoffman's idea for Shifu's backstory into consideration, is that he was a previous Dragon Warrior Candidate who was denied the scroll and made a vow to create a Dragon Warrior instead. Shifu's idea of control is based on making a Dragon Warrior his way and by association proving himself validated for the position he was rightfully denied. So it can only be by his personal method that he's crafted that would make creating a Dragom Warrior as his own personal redemption for not measuring up to become The Dragon Warrior himself. His arc is realizing he was wrong and being at peace with who actually is The Dragon Warrior and that level of absolute control is impossible and detrimental to someone's growth.
Fun fact: The Furious Five and Po, in their names, animals, and individual fighting styles, are representative of six actual forms of the Kung Fu martial art (Tiger, Mantis, Crane, Monkey, Viper, and Panda). The Panda style of Kung Fu is about using your opponents' attacks and momentum against them, which is something you see Po do time and time again.
Ive also seen comparisons to "dragon-style' which corporiates the 5 represented styles with fast footwork, which Po simply calls his crazy feet. *insert fat guy quick on his feet joke*
I feel like Tai Lung saying “it’s nothing” at his own reflection is a sign of his upbringing, raised to be the ultimate warrior, he has no true character beyond his warrior instinct. Po is a blank canvas with bounds of untapped potential, he has yet to accomplish anything, and there’s infinite possibilities for him. Hence why “it’s blank”, it’s a picture that’s yet to be painted, and this is finally his chance to paint it.
the thing i realised just now: Poe is super creative in his battle style so he’s unpredictable. he dreamed so much about him using kung fu so he’s full of crazy ideas. that’s why he’s a dragon warrior
I had never before thought of Tai Lung's tail being not immobilized anymore because it was just stepped on. And the fact that Po is just as good as Tai Lung at improvising. Shifu and the Five were "proper" and fought in a style more by the book and therefore more predictable.
It's really sad how Tai Lung got hold of the Dragon Scroll and couldn't see what it was supposed to mean. Po said "It's blank!" which indicates his view of the world, he's a blank canvas that has potential. However, Tai Lung sees the scroll and said "It's nothing!" which indicates that his point of view of the world, that he's trained so hard and got so far, but deep down he still feels that he, HIMSELF, is nothing. Very sad, about as sad as Tai Lung confronting Shifu, asking him during the fight "are you proud of me, Shifu?" and "who was the one who filled my head with dreams?! Made me train until my bones broke?!" I feel immense sympathy for both Tai Lung and Lord Shen from Kung Fu Panda 2. They had been guided in the beginning to be the next big thing in their sphere of influence. But, each one somehow went...wrong. And the parents of each villain had to cast their sons out of their lives forever.
such a good writing, i never noticed 😭 about Tai Lung: Shee Fu wasn’t a good father at all. i heard, Tai Lung got some sort of narcissistic trauma because of how Shee Fu raised him. no surprise he said “it’s nothing” then
@dammi8163 I didn't say they weren't. It's not their fault their son was so twisted. Something was wrong with HIM, not THEM. Shifu was a loving father to Tai Lung, as well. Shen and Tai Lung have too much in common...loving parents, a bright future fouled by their own misdeeds, being exiled from their home, and their own evil plans being related back to the fact that they have issues with their parents.
I think that Tai Lung never developed an identity outside of becoming the Dragon Warrior. And it’s just as you have stated, he doesn’t truly believe in himself the way that Po does.

Yo! You’re gonna love Avatar the Last Airbender! I love your videos! Keep it up!
I wanna watch that all as soon as I start a patreon!
One movie you should look at is Rise if the Guardians. It’s a great movie!
I’ve seen it but I’d love to watch it again. Love Hugh Jackman as the Easter bunny 😂
Also the Legend of the Guardians of Ga'Hoole . I find that that movie gets all to often overlooked , when it is a cool movie with unique designs and fun action cinematography.
lol I read the book series when I was in primary school 😂 love the movie though just wish they kept going and made it a saga
you should watch kungfu panda secrets of the scroll....It will just take 11minutes...It will surprise you for sure.....The furious 5 accidentally come together due to Po! Accident or destiny who knows....

It will be interesting to see your reaction to the film Real Steel 2011. The film definitely deserves attention 👍
Saw it a long time ago and thought it was good. Pretty sure it was my first boxing related experience. Made me watch the Rocky movies.
I've been watching it for a long time too. But I haven't seen any movies about Rocky, only an animated series. It will be interesting to watch Real Steel with you ;)
You NEED to watch Kung Fu Hustle if you havent already.
do you take requests?
I hear every request and write them down but I get a lot so I can’t guarantee I’ll watch them is all. But yes I do. ☺️
@@thecocoacouch you should look into doing: Baby's Day Out, George of the Jungle, The Goonies, and Home Alone 1-3
note to anybody who didn't know, there's a credit scene to this kung fu panda!! and if Oscar wasn't aware, I'd love to hear the thoughts!

I don't really see the point of a reaction video for something you've already watched
Make sure to watch all of the marvel movies 🎬
Woah 😂😂 that’s no easy feat. Possibly when I start the patreon we could do a Marvel Marathon? (10,000 subs)
