You are a legend. The replacement lock for my sliding door was a disaster. Mainly because the cylinder was faulty. Then, of course, I couldn’t free the door. Your gripper hack worked and the new lock is in place.
THANK YOU ❤
Legend! This and your ‘break the lock’ video have saved me months of headaches! Cheers!!
Thank you! Your videos provide a solution to all the problems I had. Your a Legend

Thanks for the easy explained process including the little tips about having to expand hole if needed and various screws & bolts. You’ve saved me a fortune not having to get a Tradie out for something that was relatively easy to do myself👍
Here from the (remove the lock with no key video) now onto this video to put a new lock on, thank you!

Thanks so much!!!!! good job!!!!
Very helpful thank you and found by accident,
fully been try ask bunnings and other places but yea 😂😂😂 that didn’t help as i was just after straight down line explanation
You’re welcome 👍
Thanks Bill.
Tragedy today Bill! I was following your tute and got right up to screwing in the catch for the lock on the wall side and I noticed none of the snips worked so I tried the barrel with the key and it was stuck in the locked position (something inside jamming it). Had to pull the whole thing apart again and sort of jimmy the internal mechanisms of the lock up again so I could get the bloody barrel out. Locked it and tried it all again and it is jammed again so I think maybe have a dud (Whitco brand). Back to Bunnings with it tomorrow. Not happy!
I have the same trouble. Need to use a grinder to cut it out. Bought a new one, same problem again. I wish I saw this video before anything else.
Nice and very good explanation. Great video, mate.
Legend! Thanks heaps!!
No problem 👍
Thank you, did subscribe.
It looks too easy for you. I followed the instruction sheet trying to work out the lever and the snib. I still can't rotate the lever or snib. There's a detail description for trouble shooting in the sheet but I don't get it. Watching your video is simply the best. Thanks.
The little latch can’t be locked when door is open or closed but key works fine can the top striker actually wear over the years?
Thank you for a helpful video.. but please tell that person to replace their smoke alarm :)
Helpful Thanks 😊
Excellent!! Thank you so much for posting this video
Legend Bill thank you!
Thanks Bill this was perfect
Glad I could help 👍
You are so good and nice
Good news, i found the screw not long after I posted. Thanks again
Great vid
Cheers mate, very helpful
Hey Bill.. I am having dramas with the two screws on either side that hold the handle on, they won't go in all the way.. I tried longer screws and they also wouldn't go in all the way. Im not sure if maybe I'm not putting enough pressure behind?
Those screws initially require a bit a force, very common 👍
Having trouble replacing a triple lock. Do u tutorial for this? Ta
Hi, I've run into some trouble..... I started Toni stall a new one but did not change the strike plate over yet and the old one was still on. I shit the door because I had to do help my daughter. The door will not unlock now.... I only closed it but somehow it has now locked/unopenable. The key turns but does unlatch...help locked myself Inside
Great video but I am still having trouble with installation, it seems that my new lock doesn't unlock with the key! Does it come in a lock position and if so how do I unlock it?
Hey Bill, thanks for your videos, you've actually been a big help for my going into retirement. Lot's of stuff needs fixing... I have 2 sliding security doors where both locks need replacing. I managed to dismantle one completely but the other Euro-lock refuses to come out. I've tried the hair-clip, tried the keys I cannot seem to get that tumbler to move. Any suggestions please? Thanks in advance - Peter V.
Hi Peter, you’re very welcome. I have another video showing you how to snap the lock so you can replace the cylinder. Very simple to do. 👍
@@billshowto thanks Bill, will check it out - Peter V.
Hi again Bill, found that vid. and it worked really well. Got the locks changed so thanks again mate - Peter V.
How to remove lock barrel with upper and lower locks?
Thanks mate.
Hi Bill, I install this lock the other day and once I had installed it onto the door exactly like your video i went to shut the door and the lock has jammed and I cannot get it to open>The keys will turn in the barrell but will not go to 12 o'clock will only go to 11 o'clock? The inside snip will not release from the locked position and the general operating snip to open and close is too jammed in the locked position. Can you help me free the locked from the jammed position so I can open the door???? Thanks Bill
Hi, if you can send a video to my email I’ll try and sort it out with you.

That's great but I'd like to know how to keep the little silver lock that goes on the inside of the door from falling out when you close the screen door please mate?
Hi Geoff, I’m not exactly sure of what you mean, if you send a picture or video to my email I should be able to help you. Billshowto@hotmail.com
Cheers Mate!

Love it bill
How does it work with a triple lock screen?
The door insert is in a locked position so can not insert lock barrel so how do you put it back to unlock for installation as per instructions.
Hi Bill
Thank you for the step-by-step video!!!
So HELPFUL!!!
I appreciate how you also explain the different tools/screws etc that can give us grief!
How do I get lock unit out, tried with key no luck
Good shit..

Glad I could help 👍
Not a criticism, but why does it seem like all the youtube tutorial videos always have a smoke alarm low battery beeping in the background?
my sliding screen door is locked close, i have the key but wouldn't turn to unlock. have no access to the side screws, coz is locked close.
Hi , you can replace the lock by doing this if it’s stuck in the locked position

Anyone else get anxiety when they saw the tools, dirty locks and shoes on the white carpet? Yeppp
Only Landlords would, not the grubby Tenants.
@@__PJ__ Homes are for living in, not just investing in. Landlords are the grubs.
@@Nebby_99 You would understand if you owned a large investment and grubs destroyed it because of their down and out look on the world. Always some drama always some excuse why they have no money.... Pull up your socks go buy a place and see what we mean. Most investors are mum and dad couples who work their asses of to secure their future.. hand up mate not hand out !
@@__PJ__ Bit hard to buy a place, because boomers got the biggest handouts (free education and cheap housing) then put a stop to them.
If it's so hard to get a carpet replaced one or twice a decade, maybe stop leeching off other people's income and driving up prices (ie. sell the home to someone who actually needs a home).
@@Nebby_99 Im not a boomer I'm south of 40, nor is it hard for me to put my hands on coin to replace carpets or anything required to maintain my property. And i will sell what's mine to whomever i wish for market value when i decide to. That's what you can do when you work, budget and save from the day you leave school. Not blame the government for no free housing.. you can always live in housing commission if you have to. i have a funny feeling you do and blame everyone else for your issues.
Smoke alarm needs a new battery.
How about the video remove lock without key!
I have a few videos on how to do this also 👍
