I was there, sitting in the end zone and watching the interception that sealed the deal for the Eagles. I remember the defender spiking the ball. If Kerry Goode hadn't gotten hurt, I could see Bama only losing 2 games that season. We wound up 5-6 but beating Auburn took away some of the sting of a sub-par season. Roll Tide anyway!
I love Legion Field. So much history. Saw my first Gators game there. It's a shame with UAB's new stadium being completed the days of it hosting any major sporting events are probably over. I believe the Birmingham Bowl will be leaving Legion Field as well to use the new Blazers' stadium.
Back in the day, Legion Field meant Alabama was playing a big game that week. Bryant Denny was for lesser games. Seems so weird now that the place is falling in on itself and no longer used for much.
Keith Jackson the top of the top rip sir

Wow Bama was up in this game 31-14. What a disaster !
I loved watching Troy Stradford run ! Reminded me of James Brooks
Doug Flutie still my favorite football player of all time.
Alabama's season was completely changed
when Kerry Goode went down.
Flutie was a gamer, man. Those two 4th down conversions for touchdowns were the difference in this game.
Typical Perkins team.
Back when Legion was only... kind of a dump
Thanks @steelbuck! What a game. Was this a bowl game? Both teams had already played 11 games, so I'm curious.
Early '84. ABC was listing their 1983 records.
This was the second game of the 1984 season. For whatever reason, they showed their records from the 1983 season in the graphics at start of game.
Wow!! Great game

The start of a dreadful season I'd rather forget
This began ALABUMBLE! It will happen again. Just watch and see!

Do you have the No Huddle 1983 Alabama-Boston College game?
No I don't have a copy.
