@@AmnioticlyTanked A single head might have worked if you were adamant in keeping the pose but the bundle was 100% overkill. Or even a raised dagger pose
@@TheLichsLaboratory Raised dagger would have been cool for sure. Part of the issue as well was that I did not want to cut up and re-sculpt a second arm so I was pretty much left with just two arm options. I also think, looking back, that the only way to make a pose work with this model holding up a skull would have been to have been holding it by its hair. Seems awkward to be holding up anything by a rope like that.
I think the pose where it's holding the skulls above its head would work well for some kind of counts-as banner bearer/standard/mark of chaos/etc. I love the finished result! In particular I love the combination of the Jakhal head with the Kasrkin/karaskin/however-you-spell-it helmet, and now I'm tempted to pick up some jakhal heads for my own R&H (the full kit wouldn't do me much good, all of my chaos army is Slaanesh-aligned!) Here's to Chaos!
Super happy to see another video from you! I love your kitbashing content and I can't wait to see more of your Tyrant's Legion series. Awesome conversion as always.
Thanks and more is on its way! The tryants legion videos have kinda stalled out as I recently did 40 conscripts for them, but the conversion is actually super straight forward so im no sure how to make an entire video on it... Trying to pivot it towards tips to paint a bunch of dudes fast though, so we will see how that turns out.
@@AmnioticlyTanked Sounds awesome! To be honest, I really enjoy watching the whole army come together, and even if the kitbashes are straightforward I'll still watch. But that's just me.
This guy is great, i can totally picture him stalking through some industrial district, taking skulls for the skull throne. The knife is cool, but I think a hatchet (maybe from the navy breachers kit?) would also be a great weapon option. Can't wait to see what other gross weirdos you come up with!
Personally, I like the pose of him holding the sculls above his head! Its dynamic and cool, and i can imagine the squad sergeant using it to rally his men or to beg for Korns blessing before charging. However, it is not a very natural pose. Some of the best advice I get for posing miniatures is that the pose should be something you could imagine the mixture doing at all times. Aiming down sights, rising across the field, yelling orders, reloading etc. Not something dynamic like leaping off a rock or cutting a guy in half. The skull pose falls kinda between and as cool as it is I can see it wouldn't be great unless they were a special model.
Appreciate it! And while there is certainly a place for the blood-crazed loonies aspect of Khorne, I personally prefer the utilitarian and toned down version. There is just something much more sinister about someone who has all of their senses intact and chooses to worship the god of blood, versus an absolute nutty berserker.
Ha thank! Still need to get some stuff figured out regarding my background and desk setup before I put myself on camra more, but figured I need to eventually get over my stage fright if I wanted to be on TH-cam
@@AmnioticlyTanked necromunda gangers of varying flavors is my first thought; I think I have a box of delaque lying around. Just need to up-armor them a bit so they don't look like cultists. But I've also got plenty of scions lying around, so I might use those as a base, or mix and match the two if I can't find some cheap cadians.
@@SparkSovereign I'm sure you can get some E-bay Cadians etc and use Dettol to strip the paint off them. That way you'll have loads of parts to work with 😀
I think having a model hold five skulls can work, it's just better suited to a sergeant, character, or banner bearer. If one rifleman has that much detail, I'd expect the whole squad to look like that too. It just depends how much work you want to do for a 12 point model...converting guard is really fun because there's so many options out there, but to keep your sanity intact, it's best not to go over the top on a 65 point squad
This is awesome video! I'm a World Eaters player and I've sent this to my mate who's a Guard player and as I'm the World Eaters player, skulls, always skulls, also, I need to convert 10 Guardsman to Chaos Undivided (I don't want to spend £37.50/$60) Edit: I'm now watching your Tyrant series!
Thanks and glad you enjoyed it! I think a ton of the things I showed in here can also be used for undivided - just need to leave the khorne symbol off! Enjoying the tryant's legion series? I really need to get back to it...
Nice conversion, naturally with plastic it's way more easy now. There are some other boxed sets that are really useful for kitbashing, such as the new Damned from WGA, perfect for cultists or renegades.
Currently working on my very first conversion so if I was to add something like the skulls I would have probably put like one or two on the charge pack and had like a theme that he's collected the skulls of signature characters so maybe on one of the skulls put like an ultramarine logo or salamander or whatever
I preferred the pose where he was holding up the skulls Because a khorne kasrkin/ commando would be the only guy to use a hell gun and beat the hell out of anyone with a multi headed skull flail
I personally would've loved the skull arm. Does it make sense for a gun wielder to occupy one hand with a bunch of skulls or picking them up again after every shot? No. But it's cool and thematic, and for me, the rule of cool trumps practicality.
I think he uses red arrows? But yeah still trying to figure out my thumbnails for conversion videos with put ripping him off. Any ideas? I must say though he is a much more handsome man, and has a far more suave voice than I do, so any confusion should be cleared up right quick!
Looking back, it's actually quite diffrent from Pete's, but this one is similar to his Chaos Leman Russ conversion 😄 Your regular thumbnail actually looks pretty distinct, i can instantly recognize it. Something like the tyrant's legion thumbnail also works
do you think you could use a kasrkin chest or just a cadian IG chest for a more modern sisters of battle kind of torso? less gothic nun looking breast and more sleek modern military kind of appearance? I'm trying to find a way to keep my sisters with the thematic nature they represent but modernize them in certain aspects to look more like a respectable tactical forward thinking sister order that put survival and completeting the missions above their fanatical need to die for Big E. I'm thinking more sisters of raptor if you catch my drift. Any ideas how to accomplish this? It is a glory and honor to die for Big E but if you can survive to continue serving him there is more value in that. I was also thinking of trying a van saar chest top plat too cutting away the sisters breast and transplanting that an saar chest top bit to the model.
Thing I like about the Blood Pack is showing other aspects of Khorne instead of the overused one note mindless butchering Stabby McHack Berserker that has become the default portrayal of Khorne
Depends. There are rules in 30k, and you could always play a 40k traitor imperial guard army! To be fair though, I have never let things like rules get in the way of making a cool model.
The most unrealistic part of this is that you had a box of kasrkins
Ha yeah... I had to order this single mini off ebay
I have 2💪
Very nice mate! I personally like the knife pose more than the skulls. Plus it's definitely more thematically appropriate with the skin bits. 😁
Thank you and 100%. The skulls were just too much as well.
