Thank you for this achingly lovely walk; it was Castle Combe as I have always hoped to see, but never managed. I visited in autumn 2019, and it was still so crowded that it led me to wonder how it is to daily live in these tiny idyllic pockets when they become so popular... I see the key is to be the early bird!
Hello. Thank you so much for commenting. Like you say, it is difficult to get to see these beautiful places without them being fairly crowded (although tourists bring in essential and often needed trade to local B&B’s, Pubs & shops etc). So with this in mind, that’s why I go out so early to catch these locations before they get busy, this way viewers can experience what it is like to see & hear such places at the beginning of a brand new day which is often welcomed in by the wildlife. As far as I am aware, there are not too many videos on TH-cam featuring Castle Combe so early in the morning, so maybe this video is a rare one currently? I am out on location early in the morning filming another Cotswold location which should hopefully be fairly quiet too. All being well that video should be up in the next couple of weeks. I also intend to revisit Castle Combe in a couple of months time for an autumnal early morning walk. Thanks for watching.
I was there September 2023. One of the most beautiful places in the world. My daughter couldn’t believe how we traveled there all the way from Australia.
Hi, Maureen. Thank you for your comment. Wow, that is a long way but well worth it. Did you visit any more Cotswold locations during your trip? All the best to you.
Thanks for your video, it reminds me the time I spend in Castle Combe whilst I worked as f&b manager at the Manor House in the 80's. I was very lucky to have a flat who was located next door to the White heart pub. Since this time I came just one more time to CC about 10 years ago and again was thrilled by the beauty of this place. CC will always have a place in my heart. I have to admit that I am CC addicted.

What I loved about your video of Castle Combe - we visited the village many years ago and loved it - you took your time filming and didn't rush through the lanes, so we got to see so many of the charming details. Loved hearing the birds cooing. And it was also lovely that you visited when there were no tourists around, so the village seemed as it must have done a hundred or more years ago. Perfect. Thank you for helping to bring back so many wonderful memories of the few hours we spent there. This was a peaceful way for me to end my hot summer afternoon today in July.

Early morning and late nights are my favorite times to walk so this was lovely and I can’t wait to eventually catch up on all of your stunning walks. 💜
What a glorious walk! Yes, I did spot your clever sign by the manor house entrance. I have never seen Castle Combe in such tranquility. That must have been a wonderful experience to see everything in detail without the crowds and traffic. I find peace and calm in your videos; thank you so much for sharing them with us all. I’m trying to watch as many of your videos as I can, til I get through them all!

Well spotted! Glad you enjoyed this early morning walk. It is unreal how busy Castle Combe gets which can start from around 8am! I have to say tho, that from an artistic point this video is not so good as I was swinging the camera around left, right & centre (due to my at the time inexperience & some degree of too much excitement!) Also nowadays I wouldn’t be so keen on adding wording like the way I did in this video, I’m cool with adding my logo into my videos as long as it done in such a way that it would not cause any offence or distress. A few months ago I did think about deleting the video but on reflection I’m glad I kept it because at the end of the day it is still a good insight into what the village looks like with no one else around and an important time stamp in the village’s history. What a truly lovely walk- and so welcome after having just watched your two first “busy” ones! This type of stroll is very much my preference (though your others were well done). This is a stunningly beautiful town, laden with the wonderful air of antiquity that you always have present in the UK, having buildings many hundreds of years old (as opposed to maybe approximately 300 years at most here in the US- and most things here aren’t anywhere even close to that old). The beautiful hanging floral baskets that either the residents of the houses or the town put up really added to the beauty of the streets. I would have loved to have been walking there, too, first thing in the morning! The song of the doves greeting the day was lovely to hear! That “tunnel” where the road went under/between buildings was quite interesting…have never seen anything like that, though I have seen enclosed walkways over roads. You mentioned the wind causing auditory problems with the mics, but really, I probably would not have noticed it if you hadn’t said something in the info section. It didn’t spoil the walk at all. (I actually really enjoy the sound of wind- though obviously not talking about the wind of destructive storms). You filmed well, especially as you said that you had been up all night filming another video! I hope you caught up on sleep after making this nice walk. : )
Hi Janet. Thank you so much for your time on this walk. This was the walk that got the ball rolling for the early morning ‘Cotswolds Walks’. Although the camera work was a bit ropey it is still a pleasant video (we all have to start somewhere, right?!). Castle Combe is a stunningly quintessential Cotswold village. The flower displays are wonderful, a lot of time and effort is obviously put in to keeping the village looking so fine. I did another walk here sometime after this one with which I felt much happier with. I would imagine that as time goes by these walks in the villages should increase in value in a historical sense. Hope you are both doing well and having a good week so far. All the best. OAAW

Hi Lynda. WOW, you are the first person to say that they have spotted those those two hidden ‘Calls to Action’ and that is after 25K views on the video and to spot both is seriously impressive! See if you can spot my logo in my first Weston-Super-Mare video (that one is not so subtle) also a call to action in the Birmingham Lunch Time Walk video and I think I put something in the Bristol Mega Walk video :). I will see if I can add something subtle in to tomorrow’s video for you....Thank you so much for having already subscribed and your continued support. Regards. OAAW

@@OrangeySky11 just out of interest do you use headphones for watching the videos? As the audio is usually recorded binaurally and gives a lovely immersive sound
Beautiful video! I could live there in a heartbeat. Visited the Cotswolds a few years back, but not here, I feel intimidated by the lack of parking and I don't want to intrude on those who live there. I also love the Wood Pigeons, what a melancholy sound they make, but so enchanting at the same time.
@kayaker99 Thank you so much for watching. I also love the sound of the Wood Pigeons - sad sounding but soothing as well. More videos on the way. Stay tuned - OAAW
Such a pretty walk. A suggestion - you may want to pan more slowly. Those of us on treadmills, and those with vertigo issues, could be taken for a ride otherwise. 😅😬
Hi Rebecca. Thanks for watching & your feedback. Hello again, Lúcia. That is very kind of you, thank you. You are welcome to watch as many of the walking videos here on TH-cam as much as you like. I am genuinely glad that you are enjoying the walks. Your support for this channel is very helpful and appreciated. Enjoy your day. All the best.
Love the clarity of this video. Walking? It almost felt like you were on a turntable, going round and round, many of the scenes being repeated. This is the first of your videos I opted to watch, will check out more soon. I definitely appreciate your effort, especially after being up all night. Thank you!
Hi Robert. Thank you for watching and your feedback. I have to say I completely agree with you, it is messy and far too repetitive but in my defence this was in my early days (still is now to some degree, I’m still learning the ropes :) and everyone has to start somewhere, so hopefully I will improve as the more videos I make, although I still have one or two older videos to post so please bear that in mind. I will very much appreciate any further feedback you may have on other videos as that will also help me improve. Hope to speak soon. Thanks again and all the best to you. OAAW

Hello. Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately I do not narrate at all on any of the videos as the general idea behind the channel is just relaxing visuals however I do usually add some very basic information in the description. There are some great channels on TH-cam that do give a comprehensive explanation behind the places they walk at, channels like Memory Seekers, Roland’s Travels. Hope that helps. Regards. OAAW
Is Castle Combe still owned by the English people or has it be bought up by the Saudi.? I asked that because I was in an English village , a beautiful village and was told the whole village belonged to a Saudi prince.
Hi Deena. Thank you for your question. TBH I don’t know but I believe the Manor House and the Castle Inn is owned by a Hotel chain called Exclusive Hotels which was founded by Guiseppe Pecorelli. Thanks for watching. OAAW
Hello Khmer. Thank you for your question. The reason for not having people in the video was because the video was filmed very early in the morning so most people are usually sleeping at that time, also during the daytime this particular village is packed with tourists so some viewers might like to see what it looks like at a more quiet time of the day without all the people. This is what I try to do on most of the videos on this channel, so viewers can see what popular villages look like with very few people or even sometimes with no one around, which can give a feeling of peacefulness & tranquility with just the sound of the wildlife. Thanks again
Hi Dave. Castle Combe is located about 5 miles northwest of Chippenham within the county of Wiltshire in the United Kingdom. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching. OAAW

Spotted the ‘like and subscribe’ @ the 7:54 mark, by the gate. And again @ 18:03 (I’m already subscribed) 😊 Thank you for another lovely video!
Regards. OAAW
@@OutandaboutWalking I take in absolutely everything about these beautiful videos, so I rarely miss anything. I pick a time when I can sit down and fully immerse myself in the experience. Thank you again for the time and effort you put in and I will look for further ‘calls to action’.
@@OrangeySky11 just out of interest do you use headphones for watching the videos? As the audio is usually recorded binaurally and gives a lovely immersive sound
Qué lugar tan hermoso! Cuánta paz que transmiten las imágenes y el sonido! Gracias!!!💖
Hi Mariana. Thank you so much for your kind words & watching the video.
My best friend, that's a great video. I will always cheer for you in Korea I'm looking forward to a great video. Have a nice day.
Hello. Thank you so much for your lovely comment. More videos coming soon. Greetings from the UK. - OAAW
No garage, no me. Don't want to live on the byway.
Esse lugar é nesse planeta?... porque não parece ser, de tão lindo.🌾🌻🇧🇷
Quando eu morrer, quero ir morar nesse lugar.
Been on holiday here a few times so lovely.
Great location for a scenic & relaxing holiday. Thanks for watching. OAAW
Hello there Lilian. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Take care. - OAAW
peacefull
love this video
Glad you enjoyed the walk. Thanks Country View. Regards ~OAAW~
The village of bars now. Maybe the iron fencing helps their gardens grow. I remember better times in that village.
I wish towns in the US looked like this. We need to bring more European aesthetics in the US
Very beautiful!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the walk. OAAW
Thank you very much, good job 👏👍😀 from Taiwan

Beautiful place to live in
Hello Kanwal. It is indeed a very beautiful place and a real pleasure to visit Castle Combe. Take care. OAAW
Pl. Tell me where is this place like a heaven .....❤
Hi. It is in the county of Wiltshire in England, the village is called Castle Combe. Many thanks
I love the sound of WoodPigeons 🥹
They do sound lovely first thing in a morning. Thanks for watching & commenting. OAAW
СуперКрасиво!!!
Such a pretty walk. A suggestion - you may want to pan more slowly. Those of us on treadmills, and those with vertigo issues, could be taken for a ride otherwise. 😅😬
Hi Rebecca. Thanks for watching & your feedback. Yes, I completely agree with you, fortunately this is an older video from when I had not long started out with the channel and hopefully I have improved a little bit since then (but still learning and trying to finesse all the time). Thanks again. OAAW
Pan more slowly, your taking the piss aren't you,if he panned any slower he,d be dead, don't have any problem with that
Very beautiful 😀
Hi Ben. Thank you so much for your nice comment. More videos on the way.- OAAW
That is very kind of you, thank you. You are welcome to watch as many of the walking videos here on TH-cam as much as you like. I am genuinely glad that you are enjoying the walks. Your support for this channel is very helpful and appreciated. Enjoy your day. All the best.
Prettiest video ever.
Thanks 😊
Beautiful ❤️❤️❤️

Hi Simon for stopping by & commenting. - OAAW
OAAW
@@OutandaboutWalking You probably are familiar with "Dave's Walks", who over the years must have created over 100 videos of walking, no talking in various picturesque sections of England. Many are over an hour in length.
@@robertkurowsky5067 yes indeed, I have been following Dave’s Walks for a while, really good videos!
I subscribed, from Brazil, miles way... ♡☘🌱🌾🌻🇧🇷
Hello Vanda. Thank you so much for subscribing. Woah, you are very long way from the United Kingdom 🇬🇧. Have a nice weekend. Best regards to you & Brazil 🇧🇷 - OAAW
@@OutandaboutWalkingwhat is the meaning of "OAAW"?... 🤔🤔🤔
@@vandalmeida.30.09 It is short for 'Out & about Walking'...it probably should say O&AW instead?
No street lights great place to live
Hi Jeannette. Yes, it would indeed
Hi Pal Excelent Takes but You Can ¡Talk! and explain the place?
Regards. OAAW
Let' s get cracking.
Hello from Moscow.
Hello Nataliya. Thank you so much for stopping by. Stay tuned for more new videos. Greetings from the UK. - OAAW
Just besutiful, which phone you used for this video?
Hello. Thank you for stopping by. A DJI Pocket 2 was used for filming this video. Keep up the good work on your channel. - OAAW
Fine scenery but your camera panning is too fast at times. Slow and steady is how you do it. Free tip.
Hello. I am glad you enjoyed the scenery. Thanks for the free tip :). All the best to you.
OAAW
Why didn't have people in this video ? I see only cars and houses.
Where are these peaple
Hello. Probably being sensible and are in bed asleep. Thanks. OAAW
Beautiful place the only person I see walking is you
Thanks. It was very early in the morning, people were sleeping 😴
Amazing and cute place. I saw beautifull videos in guri in london channel, eu só quero tudo channel and Vanessa Tiemi channel
Hi Rafael. Thank you for watching and commenting. Regards. OAAW
where is this located?????
Hi Dave. Castle Combe is located about 5 miles northwest of Chippenham within the county of Wiltshire in the United Kingdom. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching. OAAW
I think the.Birds are paid actors..🤔
The birds were certainly on fine form on that day of filming. Thanks for watching. OAAW
Does anyone live in these beautiful cottages
