What a treat that was, any of those Pollock would grace a table but John only keeps what he needs. I love it when something makes your day and you can tell when it's really special by the size of your smile. You even take the time to show us the seals on the rocks, from the early morning calmness to the very last shot these are special videos. Thanks for posting.

Certainly they are. I live in a small coastal village in New Zealand and days like you just showed are the exception. Love seeing the beautiful areas you fish in, we fisher folk are so lucky to have found these beautiful places.
In Falmouth for a few days at the weekend. Will keep an eye out for you bobbing around in the channel or Swanpool!

Amazing John ,to catch one double figure pollock , but to have a double hookup is outstanding 👍nice to end the video with the seals 👍🤟
I don’t think many people will realise the significance of that mate. Catching 1 is very special. Catching one inshore is rare. Catching 2 in 1 session is incredible but as part of a double hookup solo on camera it’s got to be 1 in a million.

Have a cheap blue and silver spoon that’s nailed me more good sized mackerel pier fishing than I can shake a stick at. They give you cracking sport on light tackle. Daughter and I used to give lessons to the holiday anglers on gutting, filleting and cooking fish as they were mostly townies doing self catering and fishing with the sets you can buy in most seaside gift shops. We both loved every minute of it and hopefully they did too!🐟

Great video John I fished for pollock many moons ago at Dunbar Scotland off my brothers boat I was still catching them when I ran out of bait on my silver hooks 🐟🎣😁😁

Well done, John. It's still pollack city out there at the moment. Landing those two very nice fish together was a great feat. 4 of us were out with our charter skipper yesterday (7th June) and we had about 40 decent fish with 4 or 5 getting on for double figures. Smaller tide (4.9 at Plymouth) made it a bit tough at slack water. Oddly enough, live launce and artificials worked about equally well. When no one was catching for a while I persevered with a slow jig and was rewarded with a 6 or 7 lb ling, the only fish that wasn't a pollack.

It amazes me that not many people eat Pollack these days.. I thi k it's a beautiful fish and full of flavour if you cook it right .. I love it deep fried in beer batter with wedges and crushed peas with mint .. thanks for the video !!
