It was good to get out from Mustafar, and to have a real agenda to pursue. So, vaguely related question; in canon now, how did the Emperor find out about Luke? By Jedi, he seems to know, and Vader is aware he knows. It's still a bit clunky how each intends for things to go,but they know, abd are at least sort of collaborating. In Legends, at least, Palpatine was famous for, among other things, his prophetic ability; he could see the futures better than most, and act accordingly. His position as Emperor, but also his remoteness from his Empire's day to day, allowed him the marathon farseeing meditations needed to do this, but what about in canon? When does he discover Luke, and let Vader know he's aware? It would seem that by ESB, he openly knows, and hadn't kept it a secret he did, but how did it come to be?
True but he heard the skywalker name he knew padme was pregnant I don’t think she died from a broken heart I think palpy used the force to pull her life force into Vader atleast that’s what I gather from revenge of the sith she’s dying as Vader is given life in the suit palpy wasn’t really lying in the you killed her vader did kill her by existing
He’s the Emperor of a galaxy spanning empire. He has many means at his disposal to gleam such information. The name ‘Skywalker’ had likely slipped from (some random) Rebel in the know, who knew that Luke (was the one who had) destroyed the Death Star at Yavin IV. For all we know, Holonet News and the (what passes for) Holonet social media sites were all of this story months before Palpatine decided to call Vader and break the news to him that he had a son. It’s possible that the Bounty Hunter that Vader had hired to (find) the guy that blew up the Death Star, posted the info before telling Vader, in hopes of playing the field for a better bounty payout offer.
I think Mustifar gave Vader a place to absorb the wisdom of the Sith Ghosts who where there. So... after a point that isn't strong enough for Vader to be able to get stronger. The need to face the rebels and Luke was a driving force to use the knowledge Vader gained from the Sith ghosts on Mustifar.
Wasn't stated in a canon comic series that the place where Vader's palace stood served as some sort focal point of the Force on this planet, and even ancient Sith architect sough to dabble in its powers himself millenia ago?
I imagine a scene after the battle of Endor, Luke went to Vader's castle on Mustafar. Inside, he finds a vault and the password for it is just one word: L-U-K-E.
Slight problem for that. If that was the case, then why when he finally got his son, he handed him directly to the Emperor, so that his master could help convince Luke to replace him. Did he not see this coming? It seemed pretty obvious. Infact, when Luke was going to kill the emperor, maybe he should have blocked him, maybe he should have let them happen and when the emperor stopped him, vader could have helped his son at that time. Over-throwing the emperor was top priority, after all. And then he could try to turn his son. That whole part was not planned out at all.
I mean who wouldn't abandon their house for a city-sized death machine that could travel across the galaxy in a few hours, especially when it looks so cool??? I mean yeah, lava castle is cool, but come on, the Executer was something else!
The real question is how would anyone know who Luke Skywalker is? Vader never told anyone (not even Emperor Sidious) that Padme was pregnant and he was tricked into believing that he killed them both on Mustafar. As far as Vader was concerned, Luke was dead so there was no reason for Obi-wan to worry about the Empire looking for Luke.
@@loudboy317 plot-wise that is true but there is a massive plot-hole with that - Sidious would have been able to sense that Padme was pregnant. Not only pregnant but pregnant with twins. So would all the Jedi. Indeed Obi Wan even mentions it to her and states that "Anakin is the father, isn't he."
@@namikstudios Yes, but Sidious never sensed Luke's presence at all until after he blew up the death star. Sidious couldn't sense Leia either and he only found out about her when he overheard Vader saying that Luke has a twin sister. For someone who claimed to foresee everything, Sidious couldn't have foreseen Padme giving birth to the 2 people who will bring about his own downfall.
"Even installing personal Bacta tank and a meditation chamber" ... no way they found space and the power budget on beast like that, without Vader chocking some officers to death. 🙂 If I had been Vader, I'd have made them install those creature comforts in every ship 😛
When Vader was defeated it was then he became a monster. He retrained himself all over again, and the darkness grew. He became exactly like Darth Sidious; an insidious creature of the dark.
I personally think he hated his next-door neighbors, which would be the inquisitors every time that man’s in a back to tank all they do is throw parties. All kidding aside. Yes, I do agree with you.
I wonder what would've happened had Darth Vader abandoned Mustafar a lot sooner and lived on one personal flag ship or another throughout his time as a Sith Lord?
In the choice between an epic looking but miserable volcano fortress and a 50,000,000,000 ton nearly invincible city/battleship hybrid, I know which one I would want to live on. Tho, I may be slightly biased due to the Executor being my favorite Star Wars character.
I'm not sure I'd describe the Executor as "nearly invincible" when it was destroyed by a single A-Wing crashing into it's bridge, sending it plummeting into the Second Death Star.
@@namikstudios Return of the Jedi did make it appear too easy. However, consider the official chain of events: 1: Palpatine ties the Executor’s hands, forcing it to pull its punches cuz he wants the Death Star to slowly one-shot all the Rebels 2: The Death Star loses its shields, shifting Imperial attention to try to defend *it* 3: (the most important step) Admiral Ackbar orders the entire Rebel fleet, consisting of dozens of capital ships, to “concentrate all fire” on the Executor. And remember, the fleets were now at dangerously close proximity (to prevent the Death Star from using its superlaser) 4: With the Executor’s primary shields badly weakened, starfighter missile strikes bring down her bridge shields 5: The aforementioned A-wing crashes into the bridge 6: The Executor was in the middle of a maneuver near the Death Star, allowing a catastrophic collision before auxiliary control could be asserted It’s sad that most of these elements had to be explained by supplementary media, but this was because the explanation was NEEDED. The Executor outweighed a Star Destroyer 1000 to 1, and what was depicted onscreen was recognized as insufficient.
@@WillFredward7167 yeah I agree that the Imperial's incompetence and mismanagement certainly made it more vulnerable than it should have been. Even at the the last minute Admiral Piett orders "intensive fire from the forward batteries, I don't want anything to get through" but evidently they all missed the A-Wing and it get through. Piett recognized the danger and gave orders to mitigate it but the Imperials all have terrible aim!
I like hearing these extrapolations, and this one is certainly fascinating. It does fit with Vader's ethos perfectly. Makes me wonder what became of Fortress Vader. (LEGO specials don't count!)
There’s a Star Wars vr game that takes place in vaders fortress on mustafar idk if it’s cannon though. (Also the game is called Vader immortal if you want to get it. Also Also it’s not just one game it’s a 3 episode series of games on pcvr and all 3 quest headsets)
Imagine being the cleaning person on the Executor responsible for cleaning Vader's office 😬. I'm going to say it: the e whole Sith code is… really dumb. "There is no peace, only passion…" What the hell does that even mean? It doesn't even make sense. Of course peace exists, you can objectively see it and map it out. Passion is the most fleeting of emotions, and the easiest to be manipulated. Desire, hatred, fear; anyone with even the most rudimentary vocabulary could come up with half a dozen better choices off the top of their head. You never hear characters use the word "passion" in reference to the Sith, or the dark side.
The passion thing means using your emotions to drive your actions. Jedi were motivated by logic and calm, whereas the dark siders were fueled by rage and desire. In word terms, its using passion as a synonym for emotion.
From the Sith POW it would be like: "Peace is when the powerful and the superior pretend to be the equals of the weak. Therefore, peace is a lie. Reality is where the strong crushes the weak to realize their passions."
@@silvercat18 Passion also covers the investment in the emotion, as well as its intensity. It's not enough to feel hatred. The Sith must burn with hatred and make what they hate suffer.
I think vader eventually came to realize the dangers of being surrounded by lava. As the old Jedi saying goes, fool me cut off my limbs and toss me into lava that burns off my skin and leaves me crippled and entombed within a cybernetic husk for the rest of my life _once_ shame on you. Fool me cut off my limbs and toss me into lava that burns off my skin and leaves me crippled and entombed within a cybernetic husk for the rest of my life _twice,_ shame on me.
The Executor was also a way to link his rank within the empire to his personal interest in Luke. By hunting down the rebels.. he could also force Luke out.. kill 2 birds with one stone
I think vaders pain fed the emperor instead of himself. In the episode III novelization it talks about how he's now a perfect gem of rage and pain. He feeds the pain, and learns to control the rage, but doesn't power up right like a normal Sith. Palps was leeching those powerups. Cuz he could, so why wouldn't he. If vader was a worthy apprentice as is in the rule of 2, he'd stop him.
Its simple. Bring a good R rated director. And make a 12 episode TV show of vader. Go all out on the violence and depression of his. Until he learns of luke and we get the ultimate morale self battle of film history.
What ever happened to Vaders Castle after his death tho was it destroyed in legends or Canon did it become a dark void or so I can’t explain kinda like what happened on Endor
Did he? Good thing Legends is different and has him actualy having an entire Fortress but not on musafail. Vejun where ONLY force user and heavy equipment could survive was more fitting. Also given he hunts luke throughout the aftermath of ESB its only normal that he didnt have time anymore. Things where in motion and he wanted a shot to do his thing, wich included killing papa palps.
I just realised Anakin when he was on Mustafar actually did kill everyone that was on Mustafar. First the separatists, Padme (indirectly), Anakin into Vader, Obi wan years later and finally the emperor
I really don't get the return on investment in Star Wars - Vader lived above a literal nexus of Darkside energies, but didn't become Superman, or regenerate his body, etc.; so, wouldn't it make sense to move to a far more useful location, given his occupation, once he realized that the touted benefits of living on an evil volcano planet turned out to be just hype?
there's a cool scene in the Shadows of the Empire novel where Vader starts to heal himself but the nature of the dark side makes him angry about his disfigruement so the healing stops
ive alwsys wondered how much of a difference in his personality and how acted when he was alone and place to place on Mustafar and how acted when he was around subordinates snd imperial leadership
Anakin Skywalker basically ceased to exist after briefly fighting his way to the surface to utter the words “I am not your failure Obi-Wan”. “You didn’t kill Anakin Skywalker” he was then consumed by Vader who then proudly proclaimed “I did”. That was the day that he truly became just Vader. One of the biggest reasons a lot of fans do not understand Vaders actions in the Kenobi series. It’s because in that series, that was not Darth Vader. That was a broken, destroyed, twisted and evil Anakin Skywalker. Who wanted to die, or exact a terrible revenge on the man he blamed for his failures and the cruelty of his continued existence, his brother, mentor and master Obi-Wan Kenobi. When the Death Star was destroyed and he discovered that he had a son, Anakin Skywalker was reborn. But not as the defeated walking corpse he had been before. But as a pure embodiment of the light side of the force, Love. I think it’s also why he became more dangerous as he started to master both light and dark in balance. Just as he would later be entrusted to do in the force Netherworld as the new Father, and guardian and gatekeeper of the world between worlds and the force and Time itself. It’s something I never realised until I rewatched everything. Darth Vader only really existed as the sole personality for 10 years, of course being born in the bloodbath and massacre of the Tusken Raider tribe on Tatooine in 22BBY. When the existence of Luke Skywalker was discovered, he became split into two once more, Anakin Skywalker began to grow again. He is such an awesome character and so interesting to deep dive into, because his weaknesses and failures are known to all of us. What ultimately led to his downfall was what also led to his redemption. It also is a metaphor that a person sometimes be broken and destroyed, hit absolute rock bottom to then be able be reborn from the ashes to fulfill their true purpose in life.
Was it the right decision to leave and relocate to the executor? Absolutely. Vader was always a man of action. Quitely brooding and ruminating over past failures would leave him broken and worthless. At some point, we all have to move forward. And the mobility and power of the Executor was a perfect combination to facilitate his growth into a Sith Lord
It's funny. As a Jedi, Anakin had nothing but passion when he should have had peace. As a Sith, Vader should have had passion, but instead had nothing but depression.

It might be a weird question, but I wonder how his suit was handled when he was in a bacta tank. Did anyone ever do maintenance work on it? Could it be cleaned like a piece of cloth? 🤔🤔🤔
To be fair, I’m not sure it was the Executor, as much as it was knowing that it was Luke was alive. Yes, the two coincided together, but you can argue Vader would have been equally powerful on any ship with the goal of tracking Luke Skywalker.
Wouldn't the Executor Be a Highly Advanced State of the Art Weapon Of Terror Upgraded with the Most Advanced Technology Available and one of the Most Advanced Bacta Tanks
Because Mustafar is an awful planet to live, and the place where he lost everything he had, the Executor is a modern and beautiful Super Star Destroyer from which he could control every military operation after the destruction of the Death Star and searching for Luke
not sure if this will get read by the stupendous wave but here goes. Just an idea on a new video for you not sure if you have done this topic before. But why not do one on what would of Anakin have done if he learned that both Count Dooku and Palpatine were responsible for his mothers death at the hands of the sand people, And that it was because of Palpatine that Padme really died because the images put in his head of her dying were all fake. Do you think he would of killed Palpatine and become a Jedi Master and lived a long and happy life with Padme, Luke and Leia or would he of still Joined the Darkside and ruled the Galaxy as he saw fit.

Palpatine literally made his vision alter reality to suit his purpose.
The meditation chamber was mobile he took it with him.when he travelled. On various ships
Can you imagine going to see Vader’s place, as something like “sith cribs” or something like that.
I think Mustifar gave Vader a place to absorb the wisdom of the Sith Ghosts who where there. So... after a point that isn't strong enough for Vader to be able to get stronger.
The need to face the rebels and Luke was a driving force to use the knowledge Vader gained from the Sith ghosts on Mustifar.
,,why moving to the Executor made him more powerful?”
Maybe because now he had an entire freaking warship with him at all times???
Wasn't stated in a canon comic series that the place where Vader's palace stood served as some sort focal point of the Force on this planet, and even ancient Sith architect sough to dabble in its powers himself millenia ago?
Cause who would not want to live on the Volcano Planet where you lost both legs and got horribly burnt?
I imagine a scene after the battle of Endor, Luke went to Vader's castle on Mustafar. Inside, he finds a vault and the password for it is just one word: L-U-K-E.
What’s inside? Wait let me guess…

@@GAMER32231 Could have been worst: Sand
Even a Dark Lord needs to move on from his past failure and so do you
Slight problem for that.
“And Vader woke up!” Nah, Anakin did
Look at the Canon comics there was a dark side nexus underneath his castle that strengthened his dark side connection.
I mean who wouldn't abandon their house for a city-sized death machine that could travel across the galaxy in a few hours, especially when it looks so cool??? I mean yeah, lava castle is cool, but come on, the Executer was something else!
Never understood why they didn’t change Luke’s name from Skywalker.
It was probably a rather common last name on Tatooine, so they felt no need to.
@@namikstudios
Yes, but Sidious never sensed Luke's presence at all until after he blew up the death star.
I'm sure the capitol ships have Bacta tanks, but to have one dedicated to "personal use" is beyond luxury standards
Interesting thought, I believe it began once Vader "defeated" Obi-wan on the Death Star, He "cut" his ties.
In the Marvel Comics version, novel Darth Vader's ship was The Executioner. Kenner, the licensed toy maker asked Lucas & ILM to change the ship name.
@@DavidLLambertmobile
Oh wow I never knew that. That’s more fitting for Vader’s Ship.
I'm not sure I'd describe the Executor as "nearly invincible" when it was destroyed by a single A-Wing crashing into it's bridge, sending it plummeting into the Second Death Star.
@@namikstudios
Return of the Jedi did make it appear too easy. However, consider the official chain of events:
1: Palpatine ties the Executor’s hands, forcing it to pull its punches cuz he wants the Death Star to slowly one-shot all the Rebels
2: The Death Star loses its shields, shifting Imperial attention to try to defend *it*
3: (the most important step) Admiral Ackbar orders the entire Rebel fleet, consisting of dozens of capital ships, to “concentrate all fire” on the Executor. And remember, the fleets were now at dangerously close proximity (to prevent the Death Star from using its superlaser)
4: With the Executor’s primary shields badly weakened, starfighter missile strikes bring down her bridge shields
5: The aforementioned A-wing crashes into the bridge
6: The Executor was in the middle of a maneuver near the Death Star, allowing a catastrophic collision before auxiliary control could be asserted
It’s sad that most of these elements had to be explained by supplementary media, but this was because the explanation was NEEDED.
Bonus cool points for correct pronunciation of Executor 😁
My take:
Ones hot
The other has air conditioning
Air Conditioning.
@@GAMER32231 I've played it. Loved it. Until VR started giving me severe motion sickness. Even a video of the games does it.
@@pangaeawriter8766 bruh why does anyone get motion sickness from vr headsets? I don’t!
@@GAMER32231 I honestly don't know. I'm not the only one though.
Because Mustafar was retconned into existence, like a lot of things by any of the pre-ANH films/shows/books.
I love watching these videos, very well done!
Brilliant, thanks as always. Love these looks into Vader's psyche
Dude said “Exeggcutor”? What Vader lived on a Pokémon lol
I wonder how much the electric bill and more specifically the air conditioning cost for Vaders castle on Mustafar?
Imagine being the cleaning person on the Executor responsible for cleaning Vader's office 😬.
I'm going to say it: the e whole Sith code is… really dumb. "There is no peace, only passion…"
What the hell does that even mean?
Strange how it has been said that pain doesn't increase a sith lords power since vader was put into a suit that mainly caused him pain.
The Executor was also a way to link his rank within the empire to his personal interest in Luke. By hunting down the rebels.. he could also force Luke out.. kill 2 birds with one stone
It's a fun explanation but let's be real. The comic writers are just trying to top what he's already done to sell copies.
That houseboat life.
Name of the background soundtrack used throughout the video? The sinister, eerie background music.
Its simple.
Bring a good R rated director. And make a 12 episode TV show of vader. Go all out on the violence and depression of his. Until he learns of luke and we get the ultimate morale self battle of film history.
What you resist persists
Well, considering Mustafar is a lava world, I imagine it got way to hot and unsafe to live.
Damn…Vader was ballin BALLIN! 😂😂
I just realised Anakin when he was on Mustafar actually did kill everyone that was on Mustafar. First the separatists, Padme (indirectly), Anakin into Vader, Obi wan years later and finally the emperor
Even darkside users needed a reason to live. Vader found his.
Mustafar was Vader’s hell.
I think it shows that he had found a purpose for the first time since the lava pit.
Van life - Vader style!
ive alwsys wondered how much of a difference in his personality and how acted when he was alone and place to place on Mustafar
and how acted when he was around subordinates snd imperial leadership
Like, does he have lounge wear?
As a Sith, Vader should have had passion, but instead had nothing but depression.
i want a vader show
Probably would be worse than Kenobi show.
There's no sand in space ships

I’m thinking since he was constantly chasing the rebel leadership or beings sent on a similar mission by the emperor he just needed a mobile base.
It might be a weird question, but I wonder how his suit was handled when he was in a bacta tank.
Did anyone ever do maintenance work on it?
Could it be cleaned like a piece of cloth?
🤔🤔🤔
Less sand than on mustafar
Darth Property Taxes.
I can't think of a reason why Lord Vader would want to move from Mustafar. Maybe the lava rivers on Executor were prettier.
Because Mustafar is an awful planet to live, and the place where he lost everything he had, the Executor is a modern and beautiful Super Star Destroyer from which he could control every military operation after the destruction of the Death Star and searching for Luke
Having kids can really change you.
Or maybe disney screwed up canon like they always do and had to come up with some bullcrap retcon.
He obviously moved to the executor so he could have the high ground.
10 minute video about lore.
The actual reason: mustafar wasn’t a thing yet
What made him move from the executor to the second Death Star?
To put the workers back on schedule. The emperor is not as forgiving as he is.
What is the shop name?
not sure if this will get read by the stupendous wave but here goes.
