I wanted to write a comment before on your docuseries . I dig that your cinematography has vision and definitive style. I was wondering if you worked as videographer before cause it sure seems like it. Sound design adds a lot too. Overall great job, it doesnt seem like someones first rodeo :D Very thoughtful cinematography, like shots, and structure. I like also how the repetitiveness of the same shots/acts (like taking out the trash, stretching by car, etc) creates atmosphere. Even the grading is professional. But actually its too strong atmosphere, combined with the sometimes very melancholic tonal delivery in the overnarration , and looking away in the self interviews, I think its too much. But!! I watched now this and you show as a completely different person. Your personality shines much more, I see you much more. Even your voice is different somehow when you are talking to Ero. IMHO, you should consider ditching the strict methods of the pseudo documentary. Not like its not real! I mean its pseudo like its a self documentary, but showed like someone else is filming you. I feel like I am watching you trough a window or something. I instantly connected with you here in this video and Ero also , and I didnt to this degree in the series. Good job running wise too! both of you!
To your first question, I went to school for film which helped a ton in creating my own style of story telling. I appreciate you bringing up how you perceive me from the different videos, it’s not something I’ve really put too much thought into, but I imagine the me you see in the passion project is more or less my inner monologue or my “true self” to a degree. While on the other hand when I’m speaking with friends/family, like in this video and my podcasts, I act more outward or in a way I wish others to view me. It’s something I’ve kinda started doing when I was young and kinda do without thinking at this point. I can definitely try to bring some more personality and energy to the docuseries if people like that! I think I was more or less attempting to be as much myself as possible to kinda show exactly how I am as a runner and what my life is like I suppose 🤷♂️ Seriously appreciate the time and effort you put into your comment and hope this can kinda help answer your questions!
