Monolith and mutants kill each other, making it easier for you. Nevertheless, the more I admire you for choosing this ambitious route and getting out of all the troubles, it's really impressive
I just made this run yesterday. I am no gamma veteran, so I so far only experienced the south of the barrier. I am playing iron-man with life granter. You do not need expert tools to repair heavy armor, there is alternate build that uses more resources (18 ticks of medium repair kit for example -> need to craft four). So I went there with the heavy Merc suite you had there and Sphere M12 helmet with Ranger gas mask as backup for high radiation and psy fields. Also took Moonlight artifact so ghosts did nothing to me. But this fancy med armor has almost equal protection, I would perhaps prefer it overall, but the Sphere was worth it. I used short FAL with Leupold 1.1-8 scope with the Docter III sight (as you have on the shorty) for CQB switch, UMP for mutants and SR-2 Veresk smg in pistol slot. Munition crafting was very important in the end, spent several kilos of ammo even when trying to be conservative. Still it cost me a few lives I gathered before. Approach to the base past the curved road is very tricky as they have a lot of angles to flank you, can re-man the towers when you do not expect it. The the fight back was very tense, it was battle for each room and corridor. I actually spent a night in the lab.
Actually made my stash at the fireplace next to the sandbags you wanted to use, but had radiation there. That's because I did not know where the hole in fence is and came from the road. On the way back, the black cloud anomaly/mutant spawned right next to the fire and stashes blocking by way and since I remembered rumors this one is very deadly and could not kill it with grenade, I just left all there including exoskeleton and took alternative shortest route through Red Forest back to Rostok. Now i rather did some chill journeys in the south to swamp for some 7.62x51 ammo as I can deal with Clear Sky as Duty.
You can get Expert tools in Radar - got a pack the other day. As for your "close call" - the guy you shot was a Legendary monolith so it might have been him causing the pain. Good luck getting out - I found that more tough than going in :)
Love watching all your preparation for these runs, it has improved my own game and once I do a full run through on normal, definitely gonna try an Ironman.
I'm on my second playthrough of Gamma, gearing up for the Brain Scorcher, and this game is so much more fun when you know what to expect going into a big mission. I wish there were more detailed descriptions of what you should expect in a lab, there are so many things you can do to prepare correctly for who you'll be fighting, but 9 times out of 10 you're going in blind. I could see myself doing Iron Man runs IF you had a short briefing before difficult jobs. It's so cool to know you're gonna want morphine and an epi pen to rush the shutoff, and you should keep a P90 and plenty of explosives in your bag for close quarters with heavily armored stalkers.
getting the heavy armour repair kit early game is possible. Advanced tools have a very expensive recipe for it (like 18 medium repair kit charges needed, might run you 100k to buy the ingredients to craft those). But the result is getting a good head-gear and heavy armour, rendering radiation a non-issue and improving surveivability immensely. Also, I do not get the Forester (frankly seems worse than other bolt action snipers). If you got an SVU (which for some reason is the one semiauto sniper only requiring a rifle repair kit, and rather common loner/bandit loot) you get 10 shots, same damage, similar scope and no ammo supply problems in your case. But the main thing is, quick follow up shots w/o losing sight picture. Also it's supressed by default.
Make sure you look out for D-Pro red dot sights. They are the best red dots in the game by far taking up none of your screen and have a simple red dot that works with NVG. They work especialy well with the extra zoom you get that will be assigned automaticaly to your extra mouse buttons if you have any. The sigts your using are best for pistols though and also have the zoom feature. You also want to be grinding up and crafting that super op artifact that gives like 50-90 of every stat, including a full 90% psy resist for a minor reduction in armor that can be overcome with the armor plates item or just put on when u need it.
Hi! Great series so far. But I do have one thing to add. You might know this but just dont like to use, but scope kits, like the leupold or the pso, or the one installed on the Shakal has a red dot sight offset by 45 degrees from the main scope. if you press V you can change the scope sight from the high mag one to the red dot. and that makes the shakal perfectly capable in close quarters. also some guns ( like the shakal or the RD74) has laser that you can activate by holding L for a few secs. It really makes a difference when firing from the hip. Thanks to these I think th eshakal is a beast. So versatile. I mained it for one of my Duty runs all the way to the NPP. :D
yeah I dont remember which past episode I explained that it didn't work for some reason (tried everything, rebind all my keys etc etc) the scope switching wouldn't work. And i was pretty far in my run so didn't want top update/tinker too much with GAMMA so pretty much played without it :l

Took me like 8-9 tries to deal with all of that. Oh and on the way out after having just used my medkits there was a bloodsucker just waiting xD

Tipp: If you need Nato ammo just stock up on Nemiroff Vodka and go to the cook in Yantar. The amount he gives is not limited and even cheaper as when you buy it. ^^
Hello there and friendly greetings! Let me say, I've learnt more from your videos about STALKER ANOMALY/GAMMA than from any other tutorial around there! So let me drop my humble two cents here... If you have a fairly advanced mouse, you can make a tiny macro on one of the extra button so that you can turn that button into an autofire for when you are using a pistol. You will then have (when properly tweaked) a machine gun rather than a pistol! 😆I can say it literaly saved my ass when loaded with proper bullets! I have an old G502 Hero and it works like charm! Is it cheating? I will let you to decide.
I'm so jealous. I'm currently doing a Hard-Scavenger Military playthrough. I always seem to earn enough money to replace what I used. If I have spare money I can guarantee it's because I forgot to buy anti rad meds or something.
I'm very surprised the SEVA is doing so bad. I know it's mercenary but still it would stop radiation of this level. Especially a sphere which is supposedly closed circuit helmet.
Everyone keeps talking about needing expert tools for heavy armor repair kit but there is another recipe for it which can be crafted using advanced tools.
@@CheekiBreekiTv true, but seriously man, you have more than 100k (and you would need that much MAX if you where to buy 4 of those kits, instead of crafting them) and unless those medium repair kits i saw weren't full, you already had 3 of the 5 needed for the heavy armor kit... AND a Merc ACE suit... i honestly don't know why you choose the merc seva armored suit when the ACE is just as good in terms of bullet protection but has more slots and better anomaly resists. That said, i haven't even come close to finish an invictus run, so hats off to you for that achivement and i'm looking forward to more episodes, cheers mate!
You know what... If I got alot of time, I will hunt these artifact then craft better tier one. Example: Volat Emrald - good agains elemental Anomaly but weaken your body agains mutant, bullet and gravity-based anomaly. For radar run, Try craft Full Empty artifact... it resist everything except elemental Anomaly
Iv'e been doing a pretend Invictus run to prepare for my real run. I got all the way into Outskirts and died. I was getting stashes and a Blowout happened... and OF COURSE Monolith were inside the building I went in for cover. Im so triggered! Side note though... you have SO much stuff! do you literally just loot everything and never sell stuff or?
12:10 Where are the Monolith soldiers? Several of them should already have come to check out the noise, that who's entered the area and is killing the mutants. Edit: I guess they were fighting the Loners and mutants you found later.
Phew that was intense. This certainly is one if not the toughest part of the game. Isn't the Red Forest approach safer? Still a heap of ppl to dominate but better angle?
Not really safer, cuz once you kill one Mono even silenced, whole base immediately is on you and sure you can take them easly one by one when they come out the corner, but biggest problem are grenades which they throw perfectly at your position.
I don't wanna be that guy, but the heavy kit can be made without expert tools. You just need multiple medium ones. Merc ACE is the bst non-exo armor in the game. And it already hurts me to see a Forester, since it was nerfed so badly. Unless you play on a outdated version of Gamma.

In Anomaly it shot me high up into the air so I had a lovely view of the whole Radar before coming down to a sticky end.

Radar counts for Expert tools. In fact, I found my very first kit inside the base you've tried getting into all this video.

Yeah it's kinda crazy! It's an old build of GAMMA so it might have been fixed since, but this is a very annoying probllem ahah!

I'm sure you figured this out after recording, but it is in fact possible to craft a Heavy Repair Kit with only Advanced Tools.
But who in the right mind is going to craft ... what is it? like 20 medium repair kits for it haha

why didnt you just use the canted sight on the side of your ak shakal? instead of using another gun just for the sight?
