  • Wire Mesa is a fabulous intermediate trail offering riders a primarily flowing singletrack along the outside rim of the mesa and providing incredible views of the Virgin valley enroute and with occasional moderate technical features. On the north end of the loop, you will see across the valley up into the Zion canyon. An excellent ride for nearly any level of rider!

    Love your videos. You do a great job of narrating. We are planning another out west trip and your videos have been great for choosing locations to ride. Keep up the great work. Look forward to seeing more.

    Looks like you took a ride around Mars 😳

      Well it's not quite Mars, but it's a very cool place! With awesome views the entire route and very rideable for almost anyone! And also surrounded by other numerous incredible rides on the nearby Grafton Mesa and Gooseberry Mesa...a bucket list destination!

      BTW, I just looked at your channel and notice you are based in the UK. Do you know of any decent trails to ride near Ipswich? I plan to visit the eastern region of England this summer..

    Did you drive up on Smithsonian Butte Rd? Was it paved? Where did you park?

    • @ronsanderson99
      @ronsanderson99  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, that’s the road. It’s a gravel road and if it hasn’t been graded recently, it can be fairly washboarded. There is a lot of ATV traffic that causes these very annoying bumps…so it really depends upon whether it’s been graded. Last fall when I drove up, it was pretty bad, so not good for a sedan but okay with a SUV. There is ample parking for a couple dozen vehicles right at the trailhead.

    How long is the loop?

    • @ronsanderson99
      @ronsanderson99  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s 7 miles and takes 1 to 1 1/2 hrs to ride, depending upon your pace. But you will probably want to stop at a number of scenic view points. Thanks for watching!

    How long did the loop take for you and your wife? My wife and I plan on riding here in Sept.

      @ronsanderson99  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Maybe an hour and a half…but we stopped at many of the viewpoints along the way and we sessioned a number of the moderate technical features. So we could have done it much quicker but the views are so fabulous you want to stop and enjoy them for a few moments. September/October is a great time to ride Hurricane. Enjoy!
