      That section should be called the "Coil", because it lines up with a snake... It's called "Snake Run", right?... Then that new section should be called the "Snake Coil".
      Just saying.

    • @cutlaps
      @cutlaps ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@Jusdin057 thanks mate! I was actually planning on riding the corkscrew (or what ever it ends up being called) for this video because I had planned for the build edit to be finished long before this one. But rain has sadly delayed. I have since given it a test ride and I gotta say it is awesome!!!
      And yeah I am really loving the Marin. I feel a bit better on jumps. I think it's a bit shorter than my Norco so I get a better pop. I haven't taken it down any chunky stuff though. If it ever stops raining I'll get it out into some rock gardens.

    This video is incredible! The production quality of it is off the charts! It's extremely interesting. I love how you are able to show how you take advantage of these trees that have fallen in nature to make them fun while also helping to clean up. You're not destroying the forest, you're just maintaining and beautifying it, while also having fun. Awesome work!

    • @cutlaps
      @cutlaps ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks John! I'm really stoked you found it so interesting. It's so nice to be able to spend my free time out in the forest getting creative. And we have plenty of large trees that have fallen over and need to be cleaned up, so you can expect even more fun wooden features in the future. Thanks for watching.

    That last feature is a “Kreisel”
    {cry-sel}
    German for gyro. It is the name of a turn found on some bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton tracks around the world. It is a single continuous curve which turns far enough around that the track must go under itself on the exit of the curve.

    Super video! I’ve been building trails on my 110 acres here in Pa for a few years here. I did this same thing here with chicken ramps/bridges… but I’m not allowed to remove them because some of my some of friends never can clear the gap! Hoping to build a pump track but I need to find out the optimal geometry. That 270 berm is so creative!

    • @cutlaps
      @cutlaps ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Joe! Thanks for watching. Sounds like you have a pretty fun backyard as well. I build my chicken bridges so they can easily be removed without any screws. So depending on who's riding the trail its easy to put them back in place. A pump track would be cool! I owuldn't mind building one as well. And you're right there is very specific geometry needed to make them work well. I have seen some pretty useful guides to building optimal rollers on google.

    The loop over, you go around the loop and then jump over it, the loop over, much love and respect nice trail ride I love it build a set of pump rollers up and down over and over about 12 of them just before a nice jump or a steep 360 Burm with a steap inbank ment you can trust all the speed going around it fast G forse you really feel in the turn. Love and respect from the bay area California Larry vanbrunt jr.

    • @cutlaps

      Yes!!!! Thank you. Yeah I think my backyard trail is a bit different to the others on TH-cam because of the amount of space I have to work with. I can have a much longer trail with some really nice flow and a variety of features. Thanks for all your support.

    My lord that is frickin awesome!! Mad trail building skillzz too. Would love to have a trail like this in my back yd…but it’s pretty flat here. Good work can’t wait to see it all finished & ride the curley q jump. Great videography too. The mix of 1st & 3rd person is really immersive

    • @cutlaps
      @cutlaps ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks mate! I'm nearly finished the next video riding the curley Q. It's been a big build slowed by rain but it's finally nearly done. And I'm excited to share it! And I'm glad you like the mix of 1st and 3rd person filming. It takes a lot of time to film like that so it's great to hear it's immersive.

    @bikesonline 🙌🏼 epic bike! @cutlaps most epic trail video ever! Love seeing a top to bottom tour and ride. Your trail is so cool. I think one thing that sets it apart is the overall flow and interest. Lots of backyard trails have cool features, but this trail seems to have interesting flow too!
    Corkscrew is a great name, do they often end in a drop? (Corkdrop)

    • @cutlaps
      @cutlaps ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Matt! Yeah usually backyard trails don't have a lot of space to work with so often the features get cramped in together. I think that's a big part of mine is that its long and has great flow in between the features as well. It doesn't feel like you are in someones backyard.
