- Hey folks, join me on this edition of The Gamble Ramble as we explore the 30th anniversary of the infamous Detroit Kiss fan convention; the one where Gene and Paul showed up unexpectedly with lawyers and state troopers-and confiscated costume and equipment pieces! We deep dive into the minutia of that day I tried to look at it from both sides.
Side-note: I remember now that I took the time to ask Gene if he and Paul were going to stay and watch our show-and asked if they’d maybe jam a song with us! The answer to both was ‘no’ 😂
To be fair, they left fairly quickly-did their business then pulled out (TWSS)

I was also there that weekend. People who had stayed overnight got into the event an hour earlier then everybody else. The display of stolen stuff was right where I walked in. So, I took a pic of the display. The whole thing was quite cool.

@@ShawnShipstad I was just stating a well known fact, as far as Gene and Paul anyway. But I do need to ask, Why would they need to change their way of life? Seems an odd thing to ask. Do you really they would 'sale out' just for money? Have you heard "Unmasked" or the re-recordings on "Killers"? Both only have one word to describe them: Masterpieces. And don't get me on "Dynasty" My God, I can't even... And yes I do and have, remember, it's all for the fans.

Wasn't it a few years later that OJ tried to recover memorabilia and ended up serving time. Seems to me the people who legally purchased their items could have filed charges when Gene & Paul took them on that day. Gene & Paul were smart to have lawyers with them.
To be fair, I have heard that Gina Paul made sure that some people got the stuff back. People that were able to produce receipts showing that they purchased the stuff directly from Ace and Peter, for example.

@@glengamble-thegambleramble6275 - I don't believe returning items completely absolves them from a crime. I think normal practice would be to claim ownership and ask for receipts before taking property. Not vice versa.

Yeah, in my career, I’ve had the good fortune of meeting several people I grew up worshipping. I do have to say majority of them were great, but some of them have been complete Assholes. And I’ve met metallica couple times-generally, they’re pretty cool, but I have seen Lar’s on a bad day; I’ll leave at that lol. thanks for the support subscribe?!
