I had the Cartoon Classic 500 plus pack. It was the greatest christmas ever. I still remember going down to the Sunday market and asking for the latest games. Lets just say they were not out on the shop front for all to see.

Cannon Fodder was my favourite game on Amiga and I did a remix of the title tune, I still have my Amiga and all my floppys, I'm going to go through them and see if I can find the remix!
The archive extractor I use on my mac is Keka. It handles everything the 7zip application handles.
For those graphical errors, under the chipset options (F12) I changed over to “wait for blit.” and turned off fast copper. That seems to work for me so far. I’ll occasionally still need to dial back the Amiga CPU speed too.

Great video, thanks for the guide. And the Amiga forever purchase, well worth it. I have one question though: when I press F12 and choose quit, it goes to the login prompt but then shuts down. Is there a way I can prevent this so that I can run the update?
Did you even think when you were playing the games on your 600, that You someday play the same games on a SBC that could hold in one hand.
Amazing what they have been able to do at a low price.
I think WHDLoad can be made to quit games always using the specific key you choose there is a config area.
I had my 500 plugged in to my stereo system in my bedroom also, the sound was out of this world there are so many games that have amazing music, I think you are missing out if you don't have it plugged in to something.
I have the full amiga forever v7 on my PC so can I use the A1200 rom from it on the latest 1.5 pimiga also do I have to add the rom key with it and by the way the only amiga forever essentials I could find were for Android not pc

I used to own an Amiga 2000 (If I remember correctly) when I was a young boy and enjoyed playing games on it very much. Me and my brother used to love racing each other on Lotus Turbo Esprit and I'm still confused as to what Shadow Of The Beast was all about.
I recently bought a raspberry pi 400 to relive my youth and although I can work the basic RetroPie and put the ROMs on the pre installed BIOS folders, I can't seem to understand how to do the more complicated things like install the Amiga stuff or Arcade games (Robocop for the arcade was my favourite game), nor the Atari ST stuff.
I've searched all over the net and watched countless videos but no one seems to explain properly how to do it.
I am aware you have to get a BIOS or disk image but I have no idea how to unpack the disk image or what software to use,.
I would like to buy the amiga games licence but I have a Mac and can't seem to download it from google play, I assume because it's android?
Yours is the fist video I've where you actually describe that you have to unpack the BIOS not just where you can get it and you're the only person who uses a Mac.
Can you please in great painstaking detail, explain to me how with a Mac, I can put the amiga games on my raspberry pi. That includes demonstrating how to use a disk image etc.
You've gone into great detail in the video and it has advanced my understanding but there are still gaps that I need to bridge.
Also, I NEED TO WORK OUT THE CHEMICAL FORMULA TO THE JOKERS TOXIC GAS AND THEN I NEED TO CUT HIS BALLOONS IN MY BATWING!!

I had 10 - 15 of those disk cases back when I had my Amiga that brings back memories. PiMiga 1.5 is out now might want to check out the new version looks like from Chris Edwards video there been a fair number of updates. Waiting on the image to finish transferring before setting it up on a 320gb HDD

@@leepspvideo 10 more minutes for the MotherFraker edition, I sure wish I had kept my broken down Amiga 2000 & A500. I had a 68020 board in the A2000 with Quantum SCSI HDD, external Floppy DF1 drive for A500 and 1084S monitor. I used to be so skilled on Amiga working with OS modifying and customizing it but after 30+ years I feel like a noob again lol. One thing that was missing from 1.4 was HDD/USB boot. I still remember countless hours on Prince of Persia, Elite, Another World, Wings and monkey Island in addition to a slew of others. Thanks for the great video fingers crossed new version works well

It's indeed a great distribution. But some apps crash pimiga, at least on the pi400. It's not very stable. The games are running fine, but there are some games missing.
It's otherwise brilliant.
I just want to buy this set up ready to go out of the box. As long as it has psygnosis games
Does anyone knows how to out a game on favourites folder!?
Do all games work? as I remember needing to use a kickstart 1.3 disk on A600 and A1200 to run some of the older games.

Great video. One question, If I would go for Pi 400, I understand that all Pimiga os is placed on sd card, so I could install Retro Pie on another sd card and switch them if I wish to, right?
Yes, you can have as many systems as you like on sd card, ssd, M.2 or usb sticks.
Recalbox and Batocera are also great.

It a shame there is no multi sd port hubs with switches available out there. Just imagine having 5 os sd cards at once connected and ready to use, so you don't have to shuffle.

Excellent video! Will PiMiga run better on a desktop PC with WinUAE compared to Raspberry Pi? I have just aquired a free Pi 3 Model B with a fast micro SD card. Is this up to the job or should I splash out the cash and get the Pi 4 Model B instead for PiMiga?

password for 7zip does not work on 3/9/21. Anyone have the update?
You can probably just cat the files together at the terminal on MacOS.
3:14 just do it correctly in your browser right click and save it then the name will be correct, and 7zip is also for Mac I guess you need to get more in to cli and look in to brew its Wonderfull for doing linux thing in terminal.
i've burnt the sd card but only 1 partition shows up in win7 (named boot) i can't see the kick partition to put the rom in :( itching to try this on the 400!!!

For MAC's yo can use the Unarchiver to extract this tipes of files. It works great.
Can you please help me? When i hit quit nothing happens. It shows a grey screen and on the upper left corner says Workbench. How can i enter the settings?

@@leepspvideo yes it gives me the menu as you show in the video when I press f12 but then the quit doesn't show the raspberry terminal. What could be wrong? I burned the micro SD card so many times.
When you get SerenityOS finished enough to where you move to it as your daily driver, you might consider writing a new OS text book (am not kidding) as the two primary OS used in instruction these days, which have various text books that exist around them, are very long in the tooth (Minix and Xinu); they have gotten to the point of being about 15 years behind the times and the authors of the various text books aren't keeping them up anymore (as in have retired or nearing retirement). And the one jewel of an OS text book, Operating Systems: Three Easy Pieces, is like a coveted collectors item these days - a unicorn if you can catch one on eBay. The instruction of operating systems needs a totally new reset, a completely newly written OS code base, but that is entirely realistic while being comprehensible by mere mortals (I.e., under graduate students)

I also cannot use create Savestates... from my, albeit limited, research it appears that having a HDD mounted prevents Savestates. That's certainly what Amiberry GUI (beta 2021-01-21) tells me. Hopefully, this is fixed somehow, someway.
Downloaded pi3 and pi4 versions, the pi 4 version went to a grey screen, I am sure I could get it to work eventually, I can see a lot of work has gone in, but this is beyond most people to ever figure out, this is the problem with Atari st and Amiga, there needs to be more user friendly emulators, that don't require the most tech savvy to use them, or the patience of a saint, I remember these Amiga and Atari titles from new, and they will be forgotten, if things do not improve, I appreciate the work that has been done, but it needs to get better.

I love using cheats, it gives me so much more enjoyment with games with my very small gaming time I have (family man).. is there any tools in piamiga that helps with cheats... Does it come with cheats like many emulators does?

@@firstnamelastname-we6rt unlikely, companys like EA and Team17 still exist and still make games/earn money, other companys were absorbed by others that also still exist in some shape/form, ie: dma design games we all know from games like blood money and many psygnosis games is known to all nowadays as rockstar games.
@@disasterincarnate We're in that grey area / loophole territory where if you own the original floppy disk, you can own the digital-only copy as well. Of course, nobody owns ALL the original media for 4000+ pieces of software. Though there's no way of proving that they don't! For now, only Nintendo has a hate-boner for rom-sites for 30 yr old games - they shut down Emuparadise a while back. Commodore being long dead also helps piracy, plus the fact that copying disks was widespread back in the day on that platform anyway.

Some are still good. Some are just nostalgia. Honestly a lot of current games don't hold replay value anymore. And they don't do side scrollers and such to speak of.
