Is there a new (1.4) version of Pimiga? Should I get it? Can I upgrade my 1.2 lockdown version??? New to Amiga. It’s confusing. I have 50GB of Amiga software omg!
1.4 is available now 1.5 in a little while
@@ChrisEdwardsRestoration 1.5 is out now right?? Thank you sir I wanna grab the MF version.
@@ChrisEdwardsRestoration 1.5 is out now right?? Thank you sir I wanna grab the MF version.
Nice job,, but a shame that the savestate dosnt work
it boots fast enough, no need for me to use , nor have i actually ever used a savestate on Amibian, or amiberry
Now does Pimiga need to live on the SD card on its own or can it be set up on a Pi multi-boot system?
It can be whatever you want it to be
@@ChrisEdwardsRestoration Will the Pi image installer work for installing Pimiga?
I really dont know. Never tried
Hi there. I have no audio from my Pi4 3.5 jack to the speakers. How can i activate it/ fix it?
Standard pi fixes, exit the emu, login as pi/pimiga. Then sudo raspi-config. Configure locality audio and other things like wifi. Your keyboard. Etc. if you have a larger sd you can expand the filesystem too under advanced
Thanx Chris for your quick reply. I am really new to this and I don't know how to do it!
How do I exit the emu etc.?
F12
@@ChrisEdwardsRestoration thanx again but I cannot find the audio configuration. Do I press the F12 while in the pimiga desktop? Can you give me a step by step link or something cause I am really a newbie 😀
Press f12 once its booted. Thats the pfn key and f2 this drops you to the emulation config screen. From there press quit. When it drops to a linux login . Login as pi/pimiga. Type sudo raspi-config. Using the keyboard go to advanced options. And expand filesystem. This will uodate the card to your sd card size. Then reboot. Repeat except this time go to system options /audio and set it to headphones. Which is 3.5mm tab to oktab to finish or configure your wifi and keyboard under localisation. Save revoot and enjoy!
I downloaded files for running PiMiga and there was 1 30Gb image files and 4 more ending in 002/003/004/005 and also a file md5. While I was able to flash the image file using Etcher, what do I do with those other non-image files? I have not yet gotten the ROM's. Cheers. I have Raspberry Pi 4B 4Gb.
They are archives that unpack to a single big image
@@ChrisEdwardsRestoration So how do I unpack them, which software?
do I need to unpack 002/003/004/005 or is it already done with the pimiga_v1.2b_pi4.img
Im on a mac so i used the unarchiver, if its a rar use winrar, if its a 7zip use 7 zip. Etc
What I mean is, is the image file the only one that needs to be burned onto an SD card and I do not need the 002 etc files?? The img file I have is around 30Gb. Thank for all your help.
Why would you use a Pi with a monitor when you can just run WinUAE and have the Amiga laptop we all wanted in the 90s?
its not just about what someone can do because this is now available, or that is old, I focus on old hardware and systems. and the various ways you can do all sort of things. theres always a better way. but thats boring.
Hello how can I update to the new Version of Amibian at this Distribution? Thanks for your help!
plug it into ethernet, exit via F12/quit and run the raspiconfig and update it
@@ChrisEdwardsRestoration its only for raspirian amibian does not update
@@Rubberist79 not at all, just did it do this “apt-get update”, then “apt-get upgrade” , then “apt-get dist-upgrade” then “apt-get install rpi-update” and finally “rpi-update” ..
@@ChrisEdwardsRestoration i tested it. Right now. He Updates everything...new Firmware etc but amibian is still on 3.1.3 the newest is 3.3.
Strange. Might have to google that one
How you reset/shut down the Pi from inside the Pimiga?
F12 then shutdown
@@ChrisEdwardsRestoration Thank you! Merry Christmas!
doe anyone knows where I can find the rom.key file cause I can't find it anywhere on Amiga Forever
its in the roms directory
@@ChrisEdwardsRestoration
I look there and its not there anymore.
But I check the main Cloanto page about this and it sais that the version I have which is Amiga forever 8 plus edition does not use that file anymore cause the kickstart rooms are not encoded. So I don't now if I should just use the 2 other files from the video without the rom.key file.
@@ricky865 then you should be good to go
@@ChrisEdwardsRestoration thanks
Also, you could buy the Amiga Forever app on Android that is about 1ukp/usd/euro, which also gives you all the ROMS you'd need, if you have mislaid, or whatever, your existing ROMs from AF.
How do you write an image with five parts
they unrar to a big img file you flash with balena etcher or win32disk imager
Finally setup on pi3 and everything is fine but no sound. Pi is fine with other cards and sound
my sound only works though hdmi, using dv-i does does no sound and no idea how to get the pi to output though the 3.5 jack, wanted to capture some audio from the MED tunes and others. still new to the pi, sorry cant help anymore.
@@rs2klee to configure the pi to use the 3.5mm instead of usb run raspiconf from the menu or console and choose the audio options, you can tell it 3.5 or hdmi
Chris Edwards this version is built on DietPi, you will need to configure audio in dietpi-config from shell, user is root and password is pimiga. Also volume is rather low by default but this can be changed with alsamixer, make sure you have changed to 3.5 output first
Looks real nice.
How did you set up wifi with Pi4?
I used ethernet
hmmm , it seams everyone is utilizing the Pi in one way or another , i"m using it as 1541 disk drive /SD storage for the c64 - mmmmm Apple Pie :)
I like you keyboard.. What model it is?
really? its a cheap iHome usb wireless keyboard and mouse. i got from the 5$ store lol
do i need to download all the parts for pi3 & pi4
NOTE: There are 10 file links when there, the first 5 are for RPi3 and the 2nd 5 are for RPi4. You don’t need to download them all.

5 pi3. Second 5 pi4

does the pi 4 version work on pi 400 ?
Probably its the same thing but w wifi and a built in keyboard

In the kick directory. Its included

Hate that. The Rasberry Pi is see-through like my DSS8+. There's no way to hook the two up. It just laughs at ya.

You dont need the root password...
Do as follow:
1. Quit The emulator
2. logon as pi user
3. type: sudo passwd root
4. Enter a new root password (2 times)
5. type: su -l
6. type in the password you just set for Root
Let me know if it works..... :-)

sudo passwd root

How do you change the resolution? Mine is terrible in the default resolution.
System /prefs/screenmode. Always click use first. That way if it screws up you can reboot. If it works fine then go back and click save
