I have been playing with Pimiga 1.5 on the Pi4 and Pi400 and I absolutely love it. Kudos to Chris for an awesome job putting this together. Even though I have Classic Amiga's I am not adverse to playing with emulators and this Pimiga is just an awesome package so much so I am sending a setup to my grandkids because I know they enjoy playing the old games.

I remember Monkey island 2 having 11 or 12 disks with one of those used just for saving your game, I had 2 extra external floppy drives back then to cut down on disk swapping 😄 Loved the Amiga back in the day, I might try this os on my pi 4.

a computer in the way the commodore 64 maxi was done would be a great way to put a Pi in an AMiga styled case. If a replica C64 can be planned and delivered and more recently a VIc Maxi, so can a pi based Amiga be produced. Kick starter?
Retrogames are already planning one to follow the Amiga mini... They do that with every console, they use profit from the mini to make the Maxi. Should be out fairly soon!
I remember Super Skidmarks, albeit only that my brother's copy was missing a disk and when he returned it to EB (later assimilated by Game), the cheeky gits resealed it and put it back on the shelf (I know this because he ended up buying that copy again without realising!)
Interestingly, Skidmarks and Super Skidmarks were both written in Blitz Basic 2 for the Amiga. It was released for free to the public years ago (along with Blitz 3D and BlitzMax).
Hi the first time I bought the Rasberry pi 400. Does the small problem have black edges on the screen, does it only work on the Monitor? It works fine on hd TV 24 inch but 4K or 8k 55 TV. 😕 We had need for extra laptop so I bought it for mom but DONG.😪

Ah no. A usb floppy drive cannot read Amiga floppy disks. For that you need a GreazeWeasel device. The usb device in the video was to store all the ROM images. ROM image of CD32 content alone is like 50Gb.

I've had winfellow and winuae on my laptop, also on PSP, I have the kick ROM pack as well, I've never been able to get them working, on winuae one time it said checksum error and wouldn't load a game, another time I selected a game rom, press start and all it did was start Amiga desktop and didn't load, and I had to press F12 to get my mouse working again, I tried all sorts, tried changing the kick ROM, nothing. I tried it on my windows 8.1 laptop, a windows 7 laptop and an xp laptop, and on my PSP. Just flat out won't work on anything so I gave in.
I think it too me a couple weeks to get WinUAE booting to a ROM screen showing an insert floppy image, so you did pretty well getting to a Workbench screen! One thing with emulators is picking the right Amiga hardware to emulate that is compatible with the Amiga software you are trying to run. An A4000 with a 68040 is the most game unfriendly choice (most incompatible with game files). Getting the configuration just right is a key part of all the UAE emulators.

I did try a couple of others but none worked, I have a story, I bought an Amiga 600 in 1993, bought that brand new, bought an external disk drive and competition pro joystick, and I had about 100 copied games off my friend, used it twice and sold it my brother, he used it twice and put it away in its box, about 5 years ago he divorced, had to clear his house out because it was being sold, he brought the Amiga to my house to store for him, I opened the box, the Amiga was still brand new in its plastic wrapping ,original box was brand new, external drive still in its box brand new, and joystick still in its box brand new. It even had all the original receipts in my name with the date of purchase, I stored it for him until he came to pick it up, I since found out he sold it for £50, I've been kicking myself ever since, I should have bought it back from him. It breaks my heart every time I think about it, I bet there isn't a nicer one in existence than that.
@@AmigaFreak77 Do you know what kick you're using ? I downloaded a kick pack. Theres about 25 kicks all different ones from the 500 to the 3000, this is what i did. I installed uae on my Windows 8.1 laptop, then copied all the kick ROMs to the kick folder in uae, then started Uae, selected a kick 1.3 A500 ROM, infact I tried a couple of different ones, I select a game ROM, then click start emulation, it goes to the Amiga desk top then stops, does nothing else, I have to press F12 to enable the mouse to get out of the programme. On the PSP I do the same thing, put the kicks in kick folder, I think I get as far as to select a game ROM, it just shuts win uae down and goes back to my PSP home screen. Tried everything. Maybe I could have a kick pack and the right kick I need is missing. I don't know, I just gave up.
It'd be nice if you also acknowledged the hard work of the WHD Load team. Without which, PiMiga wouldn't be able to play its games. Both Chris and yourself (in your prior PiMiga video) deleted my comments that recognised them.

I brought a Pi 400 so I could put pimiga on it only to discover the pi 400 didn't have audio jacks like the other models and my 27 inch monitor docent have speakers built in so looks like I'll have to get a cheap monitor with HDMI and speakers or use it on our big TV

Biggest game I have for the Amiga is Flight of the Amazon Queen which is 11 diskettes. There were some that came to 13. I'm looking at doing a Pi 4 and PiMiga because unfortunately the floppy disks I own no longer work or are corrupted due to age.

@@leepspvideo yeah tell me about it. My A600 has been recapped by the previous owner who also put in an IDE HDD and a gotek but it didn't have anything else added. So have added the 1Mb chip RAM card but dunno if it's worth sending the machine off to have it fitted with a CF card, kickstart ROMs and an accelerator card. Have gotten hold of an A1200 that has also been recapped, has a CF card inside, an external CF card and a TF1230 acclerator card fitted. Thing is is that I'll also then need to buy the new replacement power supplies as well as they're both using the old ones which weren't exactly well made especially in comparison to the new ones etc. So just those I'm looking at something close to £350 or so. Whereas I could just spend half of that doing a Pi. *sigh*

Totally agree I'd love to see this released as just a working desktop environment so I could just install the games and apps as I want to play. Set up a few consoles with all the games ...untouched...set up a games cube with 6 games and kids (including myself lol) play the hell out of them hmmmmm
I loved it, but....some games r 2 fast, and you re not be able to save states of games, and if you want it you have to use .adf i saw that you can load adf games...but i cant find where they re thats the only thing that is sad for me...maybe cos never liked the a1200, i prefer the a500. but you cant load a a500 configuration cos the system freeze. so a1200 its ok! i hope Chris in next lovely version modified this! My favourite cover disc game was Tetris Pro . After my Amiga 600 blew up years ago I've been trying to find shareware for that game . With no luck . I've only ever found one shareware version but it only had 2 levels on it . Would love the full game again.

Disable overscan to remove the black bars. A Pi running at 4K or higher will be very slow, reduce the resolution to 1080 or less

Pi is Just an arm Linux PC. There are no "Pi Games".

I have uae4all working on a psp, rg350m handheld, laptop with no issues as well as running workbench. Lots of resources out there.

You can download the Amiga version as a native Pi game in add/remove :)

I'm looking at doing a Pi 4 and PiMiga because unfortunately the floppy disks I own no longer work or are corrupted due to age.
I tried to revive my Amiga 600HD. Every time I got one thing working another thing didn’t work. All the solutions are quite expensive so in the end I sold it and most of the games.

My A600 has been recapped by the previous owner who also put in an IDE HDD and a gotek but it didn't have anything else added.
So have added the 1Mb chip RAM card but dunno if it's worth sending the machine off to have it fitted with a CF card, kickstart ROMs and an accelerator card.
Have gotten hold of an A1200 that has also been recapped, has a CF card inside, an external CF card and a TF1230 acclerator card fitted.
Thing is is that I'll also then need to buy the new replacement power supplies as well as they're both using the old ones which weren't exactly well made especially in comparison to the new ones etc.
So just those I'm looking at something close to £350 or so.
Whereas I could just spend half of that doing a Pi.

The Torrent download just created a corrupt RAR for me. A straight RAR/ZIP File download would be much better.
For me as well. I downloaded several times and each one corrupted.
Anyone who still uses rar over 7z should be sterilized

4000+ is 'Paradox of Choice' on steroids. Just too many games, it's overwhelming. Needs to be some way to cut that down to something manageable.

Totally agree I'd love to see this released as just a working desktop environment so I could just install the games and apps as I want to play. Set up a few consoles with all the games ...untouched...set up a games cube with 6 games and kids (including myself lol) play the hell out of them hmmmmm
I loved it, but....some games r 2 fast, and you re not be able to save states of games, and if you want it you have to use .adf

thats the only thing that is sad for me...maybe cos never liked the a1200, i prefer the a500. but you cant load a a500 configuration cos the system freeze. so a1200 its ok! i hope Chris in next lovely version modified this! Thanks chris for your time!

My favourite cover disc game was Tetris Pro . After my Amiga 600 blew up years ago I've been trying to find shareware for that game . With no luck . I've only ever found one shareware version but it only had 2 levels on it . Would love the full game again.

@@andyforshaw8489 If you have a look for "Amiga Tetris Pro Tosec" you will find quite a few different versions of Tetris. I think of all the submissions for coverdisks, 1 in 4 were Tetris games...
Cool video! But what is the point of having so many games? Clutter in my opinion. Better to have fewer games but actually enjoy them.
You can favourite the ones you want to play, I enjoy discovering games you haven’t tried. I played Rally championship the next day for a good while
old days games were good , nowydays we have all junk 50GB useless games , when i see these old game it made me curious how they made these games in old days when they had nothing , nowydays we have unity unreal cryengine etc hundreds of engines
