      Hi, love all your reviews, really appreciate all your work! Really helpful! But pls can you advise between this model and Hisesnse A7G which will be more better, the difference on price is really small so I don't know what to choose. Both are 65", both Qled, both are 60Hz, bothe got HDR and both Dolby so I'm may missing something?!? Pls let me know if I do?
      A7G comes cheaper at 577£

      I got the Hisense 43” e7hq and it is really stunning, colour look really good, brightness is bright. But there’s has been some flaws. There’s a lot of dirty screen effect, there is a dynamic dimming zone thing which makes black look black but the screen dims down so much in dark scenes. There’s no dimming zones whatsoever and details are lost in very bright areas which I can’t find to fix. The colour gradient is very bad as you can see the banding a lot on colours

      Probably about 2 percent of all remote controls have backlights. I always wonder why people say it's a disappointment when a remote control doesn't have a backlight. They're so rare.

    Got the TCL 6 Series during a sale for $679, and I've seen it on sale for $649 for prime day. Between TCL and Hisense you really can't go wrong. They're amazing and way ahead of anything else in their price range.

    Saying it has HDR10 and Dolby Vision means it's able to accept those signals, however the brightness at 400 nits is nowhere near bright enough for either, so it will accept the signal but not display the proper HDR. In reality then it has neither HDR10 nor Dolby Vision.

    • @davidignjatovic3081
      @davidignjatovic3081 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not necessarily true, ie, it can decode these formats which is important and display the higher quality signal sans the brightness.
      Basic TVs that can't properly decode DV/HDR10+ will ruin the image quality.
      The U8HAU{Australia} is a true HDR HDTV for example, but I think it'll be called the U8HE in pommie land. ...U8H is impressive as a basic image, but more details are required to make an informed purchase.

    • @broyds1993
      @broyds1993 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I read this comment shortly after buying this TV and it had me worried. It is not true at all the HDR is mind blowing. This is my first HDR TV so may be disappointing for others if they have more HDR experience, but coming from a 4k TV to this TV with HDR there is a huge difference.

    • @zxbc1
      @zxbc1 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Technically speaking, 100 nits is SDR and minimum for HDR is 400 nits, so the advertised 400 nits is indeed "HDR". But what you said about HDR standards like HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision are just standards. HDR10 standard has 1000 nits max brightness, while Dolby Vision has 10k nits max. Just about none of the actual TV signal will have this much brightness, and there's no actual TV that can do 10k nits max (even top of the line OLED will just do 1k~). So saying what those standards can "allow" max isn't very helpful at all.
      This TV at this price range featuring 400 nits is actually really really impressive. A lot of far more expensive TVs advertise HDR10 will actually fail even 400 nits. HDR10 doesn't mean anything these days, it's just a marketing term, you have to look at the TV's actual measured brightness. On top of that, there's color gamut, color volume, and gradient specs to consider. Just from the reviews and picture quality samples, I can tell that this TV isn't bad at all in terms of HDR quality. But if you really really want good HDR quality, you definitely can't get it at this price, so it's kind of a moot point.

      I got the 2023 Hisense 7EKQ Pro, in 65 inches, and have an Apple TV 4K 2022 hooked up, connected via high quality’s 8K capable HDMI 2.1 cable.
      The Apple Box itself selected Dolby Vision itself right away, as did the TV.
      Before I had the home menu screen of the Apple TV box set do SD 4K under Video and Audio and Display rate set to automatically.
      The picture on the Hisense is really good with Dolby Vision. All Apps look really good (even Netflix which I have the basic subscription - which has been scrapped in the meantime - streaming only in HD for 7,99€.
      I am very pleased with the results.
      Also, in Germany I watch TV via the Telekom Magenta TV app (no sat/cable/terrestrial no more) which is broadcasted by the Tv stations mostly in HD, and it looks awesome!
      I can only highly recommend Hisense, it does what people expect for a very reasonable price. Of course, longevity will have to be observed. And f the y mal it there with four or five years, I will be a very happy customer.

    Having seen reviews for bargain Tv's i have taken the prime day deal plunge and ordered my son a 43" version which he will use his ps5 on. Yes no 120hz etc, but at the end of the day it is a massive improvement on his 32" 1080p hd hisense he has had and loves btw! for the last 4/5 years. So youtube/prime and PS5 will be mainly used for him & this will be just great i think for a bedroom set up (he only just turning 11). He already have the hue lights system and apple tv unit so seems good to go 🙂. Looking forward to hooking it up

      Two very important different specs.
      - E77H is up to 120hz and 800cdm brightness.
      - E7H is 60Hz and 300cdm brightness (he says 400 but spec sheet I have seen says 300).
      That's a very big difference in terms of potential refresh rate and brightness.
      Higher brightness means also a lot better HDR potential.
      Those are the two differences.

    Stay away from Hisense. Mine failed after 25 months and Hisense customer service is TERRIBLE and is outsourced to another country. The TV was problematic from the start - some days it would freeze and require an unplug, some days it was just turn off, and it finally ended up being stuck in a boot-loop. After bugging Hisense on FB, they sent me a file to add to a USB stick and stick it in the TV. The TV recognized it, but still failed to work. No more responses from Hisense. The old saying holds true - if you buy cheap, you buy twice. TCL is a better option, my brother bought a few years ago when they were new and they're still running.

    I know we have limited options here in UK and Ireland, but it'll be a hard pass for me. Anything under 700 nits isn't worth it unless it's a bedroom TV.

    I'd not, hisense tvs outside of US are hot garbage, overpriced and perform less. Pretty laughable since they sponsor every major EU sport tournament

      @@dangermouse_ when you're buying from eBay, it might be second hand, you won't get warranty and if anything seems to happen, it will be a pain to have it fixed. I rather buy a TV from the shop nearby but that's just me

    Hisense TVs appear to be a bargain, but they don't hold up. I paid $590 for a 70” 70H6570G Hisense TV in Nov 2020. It died in Sept 2022. There is a one-year warranty on the TV. Hisense told me too bad; they won’t help me get the TV fixed either in warranty or outside of warranty. Hisense is a horrible company. Crap quality and terrible customer service. Other unhappy Hisense customers indicate that Hisense TVs often last between 1 and 2 years. I think that while all TV brands have issues, Hisense has far more than problems in warranty, and just out of warranty, compared to their competitors. If you decide to take the risk and buy one of these crap TVs, then purchase the longest extended warranties that you can buy. I will now go and buy a Samsung or LG like I should have in the first place! DON’T BUY HISENSE!!!

    Hisense is dogshit. Had to return 2 and got a refund. If you don't have the money for an OLED then save. Its a massive difference in quality.
