    Nice video and you got the pronunciations spot on! Penang is amazing I have lived here for 20 years, and it is hard for me to live anywhere else although my family and I moved to Auckland for half a year. The food, the sights, and easy lifestyle here is hard to beat. Actually further up north, Perlis and Kedah offer some very unique sights as well, and the Thai border is only a couple of hours away. Hope you guys come back soon!

    • @dani-moves
      @dani-moves  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow! I think you are the first person not to complain about my pronunciation lol. I have to answer comments daily from people criticizing my pronunciation -- which is so hard to learn pronunciation from so many different countries lol. I have heard great things about Kedah!

    We either fly KL to PEN, about $30 Australian each way on Air Asia, and only an hour or so flight but a few times we have rented a car and driven up through Ipoh and then across the bridge, which is very pleasant too.

      Makes so much sense!!! Next time will follow this advice lol 💗💗

    • @Holdmymawashi
      @Holdmymawashi ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dani-moves I should have mentioned for anyone interested in driving to make sure you have your international drivers licence and a Plusmiles prepaid card for the toll booths. You load cash onto the card and scan at the tolls. You can get the card from a petrol station along the way but you will need it before the toll station (as once the booth was unmanned and we were stuck until a kindly motorist gave us a spare card!) So generous but probably he wanted us out of the way too! We have always used Europecar at KL and Penang Airport. Take photos of the car before you accept it for insurance purposes. You can even order a baby car seat too! KL can be busy at peak times. The drive is beautiful though, out through the limestone cliffs near Ipoh and there are heaps of excellent service stations with amazing foods and standard KFC etc and plenty of bathrooms (some are a bit rustic!) along the way. It rains heavily in the afternoons so make sure you are prepared to drive in rain or you can park at a petrol station until it clears. There are two bridges to Penang and a ferry if you fancy. Google maps is useful too but the roads are really good and clearly designed in my opinion. The motorists are fine from my experience but some do like to go FAST in one lane so stay out of that one - you will know it when you see it. Be mindful of bikes and scooters and lorries too. If that’s too much trouble, there are air conditioned buses that will drive you. Phew, sorry long amount of text…This is all the stuff I wish I’d been told and have learned from the last decade of doing it, so I hope it helps someone who is considering it for the first time :-)

    Unscheduled stop for the bus must be caused by someone needing to pee etc, anyway if you take the express bus it will.follow the PLUS expressway/highway and the lateness must be due to traffic congestion during weekend especially if you went on the 17th of April.... Anyway if you love penang, you will love langkawi, and perhentian even more

    • @dani-moves
      @dani-moves  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Thank you for explaining that! I understand, but i wish i would have known it was going to take so many short stops :( If you plan for a 5 hour trip and it becomes 7 hours, its a big difference. But this is something for everyone to be aware of. It would not be smart to jump on a bus like that if you are having to go to the airport for example 😂. A local in KL told me about langkawi ❤️❤️❤️ looks amazing! i wish i was saying for longer. How many days do you recommend people stay there?

    do stay longer in malaysia the next time you visit so that you get to experience our cities, kampungs (rural village areas), islands (langkawi, redang, perhentian, lang tengah, tioman, etc), national parks, highlands, borneo (east malaysia), and lots more.

    From penang here. One correction, gudang is not exactly Japanese cafe. It is more of a fusion food. Having said that, it pays dividend to walk around that area as there is plenty to be discovered. The trick about travelling penang is transportation as the street food is located in town while pristine beaches and the unwind spots are in batu feringghi and balik pulau. Recommend renting a car or taking e-hailing.
    Don't recommend jetty food court. Overpriced and mediocre food. I'd recommend sungai pinang food court instead for better taste and wider variety.

    • @dani-moves
      @dani-moves  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Cayton! That correction about jetty food is great, it was packed with people but i did not eat there so im not sure about the quality, but i believe you!

    • @caytonkth8518
