Fyi, Malaysia is the top spot globally for Japanese migration for the last 14 years. So you can find Japanese restaurants everywhere in this country.

      @cleanenergyinside1921 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

@salcedo You are just being bitter and sore. I guess you are from a developing nation? 😀 Btw, the reason given by the Japanese in the forum is because Malaysia is the most advanced country in SEA next to Singapore, and in Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Johor Baru, they can get Singapore lifetsyle at a fraction of the price. Also Japanese prefer to migrate to multi-racial countries like Malaysia and Singapore and avoid single ethinicity nations like Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines. Also the last three countries have lesser developed infrastructure, which make them less attractive to the Japanese.

The siew pau is filled with BBQ pork in crispy pastry. Ang Koo kueh is traditionally filled with green beans, though it can be filled with sweet coconut or red bean. CinCau is pronounced as chin chau or grass jelly. With most drinks, you can request for less sugar - its become fashionable. Visit the KL tower only for the views, not the restaurant but also check atmospheric visibility. Sometimes it can be hazy and you can't see much.
Super well edited & quick food tour !

Even the roti canai tastes differently between a Mamak roti canai and a Malay roti canai. Malay roti canai is softer while mamak roti canai is crispier. Mannnnn.... Had lunch in the tower restaurant some 10 years ago and the food were not that good either. I didnt say anything then, hoping that they will improve when others made noises about it but I guess most people just did exactly what I did... not saying anything. Hope they will improve. There I go again, another hope thingy.

Wow! 10 YEARS AGO!! and still no improvement... there's gotta be something going on with that place, huh?! Maybe someone else needs to buy and restore completely because it has SO MUCH POTENTIAL! right?

only eat foods that have been passed through fire right before you eat them - do not eat foods that has been standing outside for a long time

What a pity. You did not try asam laksa or sarawak laksa. I do not want to talk much but both dishes were already tasted and approved by the late anthony bourdain. You can watch his past videos online.

@@dani-moves i think it was parts unknown. His main objective wasn't the food though lol..he came to visit the iban tribe inside the jungle of borneo. You see he had a life crisis long ago and left the crazy western world and ended up inside the jungle here. The iban tribe in sarawak borneo took care of him. He promised he will come back one day. He made a promise to the late tribal chief who was a headhunter back in the old days. He did return and made a tattoo on his chest (ouch that hurts). It coincide with hari gawai or harvest festival. Drinking and merry making. But of course it was too late to see the chief as he died long before anthony made the 2nd journey into the jungle. A rather sad ending. He went to his grave and paid respect of course. While in malaysia kuching he ate sarawak laksa which he described as breakfast of gods. But while in penang he tasted asam laksa too but maybe not on the same trip. He went to the world famous ayer itam market near kek lok si temple in penang. It was a nostalgic trip before he too went to meet god

Restaurant at the top of KL Tower sucks by any standard. It is expensive too. If you want to spend big money on food you can consider many great Japanese restaurants serving omakase such as Sushi Ori, Umi Omakase, Oribe, Hanaya, Sushi Azabu, Sushi Ryu etc. If one has RM1000+ per pax to burn per pax may I suggest Taka or Ginza Sushimasa? 🤨. As per Vietnamese, the Sao Nam and PhoKing are still the 2 better ones.
Malaysia has amazing choices of Japanese foods. Other than omakase listed above, one can get many famous ramen restaurants from Japan chains or opened locally by migrated Japanese

Commended. But there are just too many inaccuracies here especially when it comes to the stock photos/videos used. One was an indigenous Indian group. Search for orang asli to refer to indigenous bumiputras because the one you used was something like one of the indonesian clans. I mean why?
    1) Nasi lemak is not to be had at a Mamak stall. the nearest in KL would Nasi lemak antarabangsa in Kampung Bahru. DO NOT GO to Wanjo. Wanjo is terrible. Even the nasi lemak at Madam Kwan is better. The guide should know better.
    2) The food in Jalan Alor is overpriced and not nice at all. Explore Jalan petaling for better Chinese food. Also, there are better Chinese pastries on Petaling street. Not sure why you guys were brought to a MALL.
    3) Chin-Chow, Cha-nai. Teh Ta-rake.
    4) Agree with the the revolving tower crap. If you have the budget, go for Nobu KLCC / Marini on 57.

Hi! Thank you for your suggestions. I did not have availability to orang asli stock footage, so I was trying to recreate an idea of what it could be like,
      1) I was taking to that place by a food guide tourists. There was really no way for me to not trust that this was not the most authentic nasi lemak - when I was taken there by a local. The tourist guide was born in Malaysia
      2) I did liked the food on Jalan Alor, so did my friends. Again, the food tour guide took us to the mall, and honestly those people are the #1 people making those pastries.
      3) Sorry about the pronunciations. I do not speak Malay, and was only there for 3 weeks
      4) Agree.

Since when we Malaysian serve snake head? You may report to police station bcoz snake in under categorize protection exotic animal. If there are one, than that is china cina tradition that imported here, not even Malaysian China tradition. It's even haram for Malay Muslim to eat snake in what-so-ever form. So be careful, you are not recommended to eat that kind of food. Thank you. Enjoy your stay.
