The more I get to know Japanese car culture the more I love it. I am often frustrated by how cars are used as status symbols, resulting in each new model being bigger, heavier and with more bling than the previous. In contrast Japanese cars are more modest and Japanese car enthusiasts seem to care more about driving pleasure. Thrashing around Tsukuba in these fantastic little bundles of joy genuinely looks like the most fun you can have in a car.

That’s why the Japanese didn’t want to make it available for us, they don’t want people turning it into what u just said.
Im all for doing crazy swaps into stuff but that is the worst thing you could do to something like this. Why take a perfectly good modern car thats affordable and highly capable in its class and turn it into a useless deathtrap? Shove that D16 in a exocet or something instead of ruining already fun car
they wont even be able complete 1 corner after putting all that extra weight and power into the rear of this car. might as well put it on a go kart that only goes straight.

The best thing about the Elise though, is the ultra reliable Toyota engine and gearbox !
Honda engines aren't as durable and over engineered as they used to be. There's far too much cost cutting in modern car engines ! 😢

I own an s2000 and one of this with almost 120hp, weighting in a little less than 800kg. I d like to know how many meters was this acceleration test. anyone got it?
I think the back straight at Tsukuba Circuit was about 430m long.
