I was on board until I saw the price. If I wanted a watch with an integrated bracelet I'd go with the Christopher Ward the 12 or a Tissot PRX for that matter. If I also needed a GMT I would get the Frederique Constant Highlife Worldtimer for $1500 more.
I've got a Citizen WR100 chronograph in my collection just because it was a gift, the only reasons it's in the collection are sentimental but 40 years later it doesn't miss a beat and the chronos still work👌🏻

As an owner of this particular watch.. This is one of the best Citizen watches I have ever owned (and I have owned more than 150 of them).. This one is definitely a keeper. I agree that that RRP is a bit over the top, I paid 950 usd for mine brand new with 1 year of international warranty. I don't care about 5 years as Citizen watches are extremely reliable (from my own experience). This watch is definitely a conversation starter as I have received many compliments for it. I would say keep it and enjoy it!
I like the way the faceted bracelet reflects the light. And how the bezel is squared off at 12 and 24, tying it together with the design of the bracelet. Nice review Jody. Thanks

Great review on this new Citizen GMT. I bought the Autumn Gold version a couple months ago very pleased with it. Overall quality is excellent, thanks for demonstrating how to set a true GMT. The only quirky thing is the clasp design looks a little cheap.
Saw the gold version (limited edition) from the Series 8 GMT range at a good price 2nd hand, in excellent condition, a few months ago but spent too long deciding whether I could pull it off. Long story short, I waited too long but it's still my favourite colourway out of the series. Very nice watch and I'd be tempted to keep it.
Hmm. Even as a Citizen fan, this one isn't doing much for me. I'd say the next step up from this would be within the group - Frederique Constant Highlife Worldtimer Manufacture (approx 4 times more). That really is a lot of complicated thing for the money, and the Highlife is probably one of the best integrated bracelet designs out there - also coming with leather and rubber QR strap options.
This just makes me miss my SN044-G with its tool all brushed finish. The shite movement probably won’t stop me from waiting the 10 years it’ll take for one to pop up on ebay
A nice step up the ladder in quality without reaching as far as a Tudor would be a Ball Roadmaster GMT. Excellent movement and build quality. Decent bit of brand history and 5 year warranty. Quick look can find a batman brand new from an AD for £1900
I still own and wear my first "nice" watch - a Citizen titanium case and bracelet Eco Drive from 2006 - paid $325. It still looks good - possibly better than when new, with some patina. 1 faint scratch on the crystal, scuffing on the clasp. 50 meters of water resistance - it has been snorkeling a dozen times, rugged hiking in national parks, daily-ed at work and cleans up nicely for dinner. I still love it. In today's dollars I'd guess the watch would be 5 or 6 hundred dollars. For me, Citizen goofs too many small details above a certain price point and their watches tend to look simultaneously busy and boring. I admit the wrist roll on this one is impressive but does anyone really think this watch will have collector appeal to justify this price (even at 1500?) To me, Citizen's best is the Eco Drive in titanium - get the most legible dial versions and make it your GADA.
Citizen are doing some great things. Good looking watch, bit thick & the texture is a bit odd and over the top. S thinner eco-drive version would be good. 30-50% off RRP only 😊. I think the Timex Q would be enough to satisfy my GMT integrated bracelet watch fetish.

Didn't mean this one is affordable, meant that they have more affordable watches than Seiko for example. If Seiko made this watch it would be at least 5k like their new almost Grand Seiko models but branded with Seiko.
Looking on spec sheet: its high beat movement, and 10ish hour pr more than nh34, maybe the high price is justified. But the dimension is too thick. 😢 I think i'll skip that and look for ecodrive gmt, or citizen air gmt.
I love the blue dial Series 8 and the new GMT is a nice addition to the collection. But I'm not a fan of the dial texture, I'd prefer a plain deep black dial. Also it's quite expensive compared to other brands but I'm shure you can get it with good discount in the near future.
I had a similar Series 8 and sold it. It was a great watch in terms of looks and build quality but that integrated bracelet had hot spots on my hand and wrist.
I believe you're a Star Trek TNG fan. The dial texture reminds me of that seen on Romulan uniforms. I had an older series 8.. had the mop dial under a matrix/lattice pattern dial. Really nice watch. This is another new nice series 8 in GMT fashion. I've considered this one.
If I were Morgan, I’d keep it if it checks the GMT box for him. If it’s one of several, sell it! I actually really like the push/pull crown for a GMT, so you can set it quickly & easily when transiting time zones. This is a sharp watch. At that price point, though, I’d expect screws instead of pin & collar, & some micro-adjustments (especially for an integrated bracelet that we’re stuck with).
Dang… my nb1050 has such a nice rotor on it and cuts off the 2-3 mm outside of the movement that looks ugly, I get this is 3mm bigger but dang the case backs a miss, good thing it’s on the back I guess!
For this style and price I think this one's only true competition is the Formext Reef GMT. Citizen's got the big brand name gong for it, but the Reef is unmatched in terms of fit, comfort and finish.

Definitely keep it. Citizen are bringing out some great watches recently. My current favourite is the reissued Orca complete with ISO certification and now including an engraved killer whale on the caseback. Probably a bit big for your tastes though Jody.
They are probably not 'Half' Links if you measure them (they rarely ever are) so manipulating them correctly with the full link gives a finer adjustment than just 'Part' Link in or out. 100% should have micro adjust too though.

A fraction of the cost of this one, the NH34 movement, decent lume and 300 metres of water resistance. Oh and the dial has a starry Grand Seiko vibe about it too. Does it seem like he wears his watches a bit further down the wrist then "normal" or how most people wear them? Is there a reason for this so when you bend your hand the watch doesn't jab into you? Or just person preference?
I like the dial using washi paper more than this dial. However, I guess that they may want the want to be sportier, which the washi paper dial won't provide. Regarding the design, I may choose the CW C63 Sealander GMT over this one. It will be a more elegant, more dressy design which I prefer. Anyway, The SW movement in that watch will be a disadvantage in many's view.
Maybe when the price comes down. If im getting into the thousands for a citizen, I think it will be a Chronomaster. In the meantime, my favourite Citizen will likely remain my Atessa Moonphase AT.

It must be down to my personal preferences and just how busy the market is for chunky unreservedly unsubtle bi-coloured bezel watches. My first and second impressions of the watch were as it was a low-cost brand taking a few steps too many in the design department. Only when you dive deeper and close up (in hand) will it likely reveal that it is more and that it is better. I'd have no difficulty advising the owner passes this on swiftly, but I appreciate for some this may well be the optimum execution of this style.
Citizen made big efort and transform the brand from japanese mjddle class watch to realy deseable modern brands,thanks to tsuyosa who is a new iconic model in watch history and also the serie8 normal or gmt...the gmt citizen is a realy serious co peter with seiko,nice watch,soooo nice,i love it,sadly she is a little expensive for me

I have one Citizen with an ecodrive quartz movement. That thing just always runs, and I love it.
Citizen's been making strides recently. Really solid pieces coming from them.

i love that dial, but i'd reckon it was actually quite subtle in a different case
it would look a little less busy if it didn't have the bright orange hand clashing with the red GMT writing on the dial
I own 1 Erabus with white dial ;),,, it is a better one than Citizen,,, however, brand is a brand , and Citizen must hold its mark

Bezel numerals seem to be a little basic in comprison to the rest. The face material/ texture comes over as a little cheap. Greatreview as usual

@@JustOneMoreWatch yeah I saw the orange one at a mall here in Canada about two years ago instantly fell in love with it. I guess it was reduced to about $600. I'm thinking that was probably a good deal.

It must be down to my personal preferences and just how busy the market is for chunky unreservedly unsubtle bi-coloured bezel watches. My first and second impressions of the watch were as it was a low-cost brand taking a few steps too many in the design department. Only when you dive deeper and close up (in hand) will it likely reveal that it is more and that it is better. I'd have no difficulty advising the owner passes this on swiftly, but I appreciate for some this may well be the optimum execution of this style.
And next a review of the new Promaster automatic GMT please Jody! And perhaps the Eco-Drive 365.

Citizen made big efort and transform the brand from japanese mjddle class watch to realy deseable modern brands,thanks to tsuyosa who is a new iconic model in watch history and also the serie8 normal or gmt...the gmt citizen is a realy serious co peter with seiko,nice watch,soooo nice,i love it,sadly she is a little expensive for me
I think it is a beautiful watch. IMO a keeper for the current owner. For anyone else definitely do not buy at RRP.
Gorgeous watch. But yes it's worth $650 the most, IMHO. You can get a new automatic Glycine Combat Sub (with signed crown) with a Selita automatic for under $400.
When you say Citizen’s lume never did impress you, I guess you forgot about that time the BN0150 ProMaster won an episode of Lume Wars, beating competition costing way more…
