I feel that they hit this one out of the park with the price points, the solid build, great finishing and nice list of dial choices (that fumé orange looks absolutely stunning 🤩) Lucky you for spending time with them. Thanks for sharing.
This is the first time in which I wished that a brand offered a collection, or packet, of a particular watch. Like, I wish you could buy 3 or even 6, delivered in a watch roll or watch box (for the six). There are so many good options, and I think you could buy up to six without feeling like you had too many of the same watch. Astounding job Jody!
Like I mentioned on Jody's site, he build a watch that virtually aligns with everything I'd ask for in this style watch. My only niggle is printing Erebus under that beautifully applied logo on the dial. I think in this case, less would be more had they only used the logo. Short of that, I'm struggling picking just one, but that orange and the purple fume version is screaming to me. As always, an absolutely gorgeous video.
I think the purple dials are the masterstroke here. For those of us who already have similar-looking GADA watches, it sets the Ascent apart enough to justify a place in the ever-growing collections of many of us, I reckon.
You are the FIRST and only TH-cam watch guy that has voiced the opinion about the need for half-links on watches where the span of the adjustable claps doesn't equal the span of one of the links. Bravo, sir. You're also the only one that talked about the quick release spring bars hanging down on this watch. Even Jodie mentioned this in his video, but didn't shoot video of just how far down they reach (as you did). Can you feel them on wrist? If so, that's a deal killer for me. Thanks for the review, you just earned another subscriber!
Thanks for the excellent photos. It really helps choose the dial one wants. I’ve narrowed it down to Blue Helix, Orange Fume, and White Enamel on the J Style with the White as the front runner so I’m happy to see some great shots of it. Thanks!
This is unbelievable what he is delivering for this price. Jody already has the 3rd and 4th models designed and is planning ahead and they will be a success since he is critical of his own products just as he is with others
Peter, thanks for an excellent review and chance to see these new watches up close. I love what Jody and Steven have done here. I usually prefer 36-38mm case size. I was hesitant to get a 39mm watch. But listening to you explain how and why it wears smaller, I'm less concerned about the size. I'm still struggling to pick which one to get though. And you were no help at at all with that! They all look great!
Good looking watches, and very good specs for the 'numbers and gadgets' crowd. Congratulations to Jody and Mr. P, they hit the ball straight out of the park with this one.

Think these will be a big hit, a GADA watch made by a genuine enthusiast, it seems very well thought out indeed and huge value for money. I can see a lot of Seiko Sarb 33/35 inspiration in there with the case profile and the handset, especially the needle style seconds hand. Very tempted with a black or white enamel dial one.
A great looking watch. I started now to notice that the counterbalance looks out of place a bit. It is the only rounded element. Everything else is angular (ignoring the logo).
Ah excellent, good timing chief! 🙌...So happy you made this, I preordered the green fume helix dial variant last night. I feel vindicated after your video - I really look forward to September when I'll finally get to have a go!
Solid price and solid movement and a great case. I have a Doxa homage Aventurine watch and love those dials. That's my pick. The Helix dial does give of GS vibes.
You did an outstanding photographing these watches Pete! When I was looking at the photos on their website, I was thinking damn these are nice shots! I bought the orange and purple fumes but could have easily also bought the green helix and avventurine as well. I had to show restraint but geez it was a hard choice! Loved your review as always
As always, an incredible video Pete! And by the way, I’m super glad you reviewed the green helix. Between that and the black enamel, they are pick of the bunch for me and so I think you’ve helped me narrow down my decision! 😂.
Very nice! You can tell these watches were designed by watch enthusiasts. I like the executive and the proportions of the handset. For me it would be the Aventurine on a j-style bracelet.
Best watch release of 2024. So far....but i dont think anything will surpass this in 2024. Value, quality, attention to detail, dial and bracelet options. It's a killer watch. Great review Peter. You're the man.
Thank you for your review. I have already ordered mine (orange fume) and will try to patiently wait for its arrival. I can't wait to show it off and explain what it is and where I got it. 🙂
I like the style of this watch, I owned a GADA Sinn 556 blue , a very good watch but just to plain for me . This gets closer to what I want with a nice Seiko vibe but more interesting. I’ve ordered the blue helix.
Cheers Peter, I was waiting for your review before making a decision to buy. Green helix has just been pre-ordered. Thanks for an honest and insightful review :)
I like the look of the red/burgundy one. All very impressive though. Ps great video, editing, photography as always and please don’t lose the intro music - love it!
I think it would be a good idea to sell the O and J style bracelets separately too like the strap options... Given that all the straps and the included bracelets are quick release it makes sense to get both the bracelets as well along with the straps so we can dress it up with the J style when needed and dress it down with the O style... Give it a thought Erebus team!
I think it will be a purple helix for me. It is lovely in the photos. Thanks for such a wonderful job of showing us clear reasons for choosing to buy or miss.
Purple helix for me too. I wonder how popular the purples will be? It would be great if erebus did the same as Studio Underdog & published the pie-chart of the variants ordered.
Good review. If they offered the white dial with the helix engraving that would have been my choice. As it was, I ordered the white dial. I am anxious to get it in! Great vid. Keep at it!
Always love your reviews, Sir! I also would have a difficult time choosing between the variants of this Erebus watch. Adventurine or Helix? Both are handsome watches at a "reasonable" price. Peace and prosperity to you and yours, Mate!
Great video as usual, keep up the good work. This is a nice offering with some really thought out design over all. I really like though how you point out some pro and cons here.
A lovely looking watch (brilliantly photographed here, I must say) - If there'd been an orange helix, I don't think I'd have delayed in ordering and I'm only doing so now because I've far more watches than I can regularly wear already. The Origin was nice enough, but rather predictable and, to my eye, too much like the Helm Vanuatu, so I wasn't tempted to one of those, but the Ascent is a watch I can easily see me buying if that Orange Helix ever appears.
Thank you for your nice review Peter, with duly noted gripes! They look really nice, but need some fixing before I'm ready to consider buying. Things protruding out of the end links is not good.
These really do look amazing good finishing especially for the price micro adjustments on the clasp sapphire crystal and good dimensions it really makes me wonder why major watch brands can’t deliver this level of quality?
I chose & ordered the malachite version on the J style bracelet Peter! A beautiful range of watches definitely. As opposed to say the Dirty Dozen, these could be called the Drool Dozen!🤤🤩🤣
Lot of great shots in this review and good thoughts. The 7mm tool-less micro adjustment works for me as I tend to wear my watches slightly loose so I should be able to make it work well. The Helix and aventurine dials aren't for me but that's the beauty of 12 options. Thankfully with multiple dial options and bracelet options I feel like getting 2 of these can be justified, the competitive price doesn't hurt. Ordered the malachite with the J bracelet and am on the fence between the black and blue enamel for the second option on the O bracelet. The Origin gave me Pelagos vibes even though I haven't ordered one yet and now this one gives me Rolex/Grand Seiko vibes without being an homage or direct copy.

So now I'm patiently waiting for my Purple Helix model to arrive, and Jodi and Steven are getting even more of my money. Bastards! Watch 3 and 4 better not be this good.
lovely watches! mostly i love the massive crown - perhaps a bit of too massive for this case, but… i have pre-ordered the purple fumé with J style bracelet - hardly wit the september (fortunately i have an Erebus Origin as well 😀)
Jody and Steven have a winner! If they had gone for the Miyota 9018, they could have made an even thinner watch, especially since they didn't use a display case back. I will say that naming their watch brand after the "offspring of Chaos" is an interesting choice, unless they were going after the "first ruler of the gods." One would think that there's a method to this madness!
Blue Helix on O style looks very nice/tempting. Good call on the adjustment (it really needs a half link) and for calling out the sticking out quick release (can it be changed to standard spring bar?). The rehaut/chapter ring looks cheap to me, and the crown looks a mismatch (although I like it being recessed). It does have design elements of Rolex, Omega and Grand Seiko, but its dimensions/proportions are not as finely tuned and it will feel/wear nothing like any of them. There is good reason why those cost more, but at £420 delivered to U.K. this is punching above its weight I am sure.
This 2nd release from Erebus is more interesting to me. I'd probably go for the blue or black helix dial, but that Malachite is really something too. Then again, the blue enamel is sexy af. Not easy to choose!
This is a home run for them. Outstanding quality , and features for the money. Really like that textured dial. The malachite looks nice also. Have a formex 39 with malachite. Stunning mineral dial. So, which do I buy?😊
Hopefully these will ship sooner than expected, like the Origin. And if these 9015 movements are as accurate as the NH movements in the Origin's a nice bonus. Both my Origins (black blue) are about -5 seconds a day. Pretty dang good for a NH 35 Too bad the 9015 have unidirectional rotors Unlike the Seiko with the magic lever. But the height would of been increased.
Jody and Steven did a fantastic job with this one, that white dial version is gorgeous but 38.6mm is just too small for my taste unfortunately. They will sell extremely well I think. Nice review mate.
I own the black dialed Erebus Origin. I'm totally thrilled with it and I wear it much more than my "Big Name" watches. The lume is one of my favorite features - lots of it on the markers and bezel that will last all night. One reviewer bemoaned the lack of polishing on the Origin, but that's another feature that I really appreciate. It's a great looking, no nonsense toll watch that doesn't need polished surfaces. It does exactly what a tool watch is supposed to do and it doe it superbly.
I like these so much better than the last ones, the first Erubis issue never grabbed mw but these I really like.
Fingers crossed he manages to transfer the design language of this one to more designs.

I’m going to pick up the purple dial,
This is a home run for them. Outstanding quality , and features for the money. Really like that textured dial. The malachite looks nice also. Have a formex 39 with malachite. Stunning mineral dial. So, which do I buy?😊
Great video and photography. I'll be pre-ordering very soon.
cheers
They hit the sweet spot with the size. I think this size will appeal to most customers. The dial is quite nice too.
Fantastic review Peter! I wish I could afford two. I’ve gone for the Aventurine, but second choice would’ve been the white enamel!
Good choice!
Ordered the black helix.... can't wait 👌
Enjoy 👍
I want one. But which to choose? Your photos and video are superb!! Well done!! 👍
Thank you 🙏
Phenomenal release. Could restructure the entire microbrand space.
Jody and Steven did a fantastic job with this one, that white dial version is gorgeous but 38.6mm is just too small for my taste unfortunately. They will sell extremely well I think. Nice review mate.
But with white it will look more bigger.
Anything bigger than a 39mm on plain 3 hander is too big. Big dials are ugly . If there is a bezel eg. Diver…tachymeter then > 40mm works …otherwise 🤮
Interesting. i was considering the green fumé, but it did not stick out to you
Dont choose because of me, everyone is different bro 😊👍
I own the black dialed Erebus Origin. I'm totally thrilled with it and I wear it much more than my "Big Name" watches. The lume is one of my favorite features - lots of it on the markers and bezel that will last all night. One reviewer bemoaned the lack of polishing on the Origin, but that's another feature that I really appreciate. It's a great looking, no nonsense toll watch that doesn't need polished surfaces. It does exactly what a tool watch is supposed to do and it doe it superbly.
I couldn’t wait for this review
🙏
I had to buy a purple dial helix, I was watching the launch and just fell for it.
I like my Origin, but i like these better. I'm having trouble deciding which one
