So glad you're back - but at the same time recognizing that you sharing with us is a gift... never an obligation... and you should post (or not) on your level of happiness with it. Great quilt stuff... your sense of color, especially.. is wonderful. That Cielo top is great. I've used a beach sarong and turned it into a top and left the fringed part as my hem, too. It makes it extra fun and so "Florida" (not going to apologize for being in our oft maligned state) The insect top, too, is adorable. The wide strap maxi looks great and perfect for a cruise (well - a warm waters cruise!) The blue and green color combo is one of my favorites. It is super soothing (IMHO) but with the dyeing it brings it way up in adorableness. You always make me want to dye more! The tee shirts are way too cute. The Nova in rayon is perfect... the length is great. Your Charlie caftan is my favorite, as well - I have an ice dyed one that is similar and it is probably my favorite make. I'm so sorry about your knee. Pain makes everything so much less fun. I'm hoping to get down to your and Jen's get together on Saturday. One of my daughters (also a sewist) is visiting from CO and wants to come, too. Google maps says it's about an hour drive. I hope to meet you guys! Forgive my verbosity - it's SO good to see you. You've put a smile on my face this morning.

It sounds like you can get some rehab time for your knee on the cruise. I would look at it as a spa and relaxation cruise, which is perfect for you. ❤ They have medical clinics on the ships, you should feel free to let the ship doctor or nurse know you have a knee issue in case something goes wonky with your knee while you're on the ship. They might be able to recommend whatever exercise classes are available or aquatherapy in the pools for you. This was a great video, you've convinced me to look into quilting and I'll check out the video you mentioned. ❤❤

I’m coming back to quilting after 24 year hiatus and not interested in traditional blocks and a whole lot of perfect. I planning on collage, and art quilts for placemats using Ankara remnants . I’m drawn to improvisational quilting. I’m a former rule follower turned rule breaker in garment sewing 🪡 and quilting now😮. But great to see you again. Sometimes we need breaks even from the hobbies we love. And, I love your dress. I make those as well.

Hi Kathleen! The good news is that cruises are experts at avoiding storms. The bad news is that might mean missing some ports and having more "at sea" days. I was worried about that as well but my mind was put at ease by expert cruisers 😊
So glad you're back and inspiring me with your creativity, you have been missed. The blues and pinks rayon dress looks especially good on you as well as the ice-dyed dress. Me, I gave up wearing maxi dresses because they seemed to drag me down and widen me out at the bottom, so now go with the flowy midi length with snappy (but comfortable) sandals. I've tried Voltaren and it hasn't seemed to help me too much. I HAVE been taking Osteo Bi-Flex for a couple of weeks now and that seems to be making a difference, so we'll see how that goes! I'm glad you enjoyed the clothes 😍

So glad to see you back! I am sorry about your knee; I have also been struggling with mine. I hate being limited in activity. I love your Nova Midi dress and the fix on your maxi dress. I have only finished my first two blocks on Izzy's quilt as you go but yesterday I cut out all the pieces for the other blocks and hope to work on piecing some today.

I love your take on quilting. Two of my sewing besties are great quilters and constantly trying to infect me with it. But I like you I’m not the most precise sewists. On garments you don’t have to be. Also I’m not able to see two exactly identical things like pouches or table sets. But sometimes I like to sew such as a palette cleanser. It’s so good to see you again!
I was just thinking that I hadn't seen you in so long. As usual I love your fabric colours!!! I often wonder about sewists on TH-cam who are making so many garments ongoing. Seems wasteful to me. You are branching out and trying new things. I ❤ it
I think that's one of the reasons I took a break. I was feeling compelled to make a different pattern every time I sewed when all I really wanted to do was to make some tried and true patterns in new and fun fabrics. I'm working on how to keep things interesting while still doing what I WANT to do - it's. a fun puzzle 🤣. Thanks so much for watching 💕
Are you seeing a physical therapist for your knee? I found it helpful and prepared me well for the eventual replacement. Love, love your viscose dress. Yes to another caftan. My favorite of your past dresses. I’ve missed you but figured you were just busy with life. Glad you are back. Also, with regard to the cruise, had you considered a private tour in one of the ports? In my old age, I’ve found them to be a life saver. I’ve even hired a taxi driver to just drive me around a couple hours! Worth every Penney.
Hi Barbara! It's so good to "see" you 😊. I am not working with a physical therapist. I really need to get an appt with a dr but work is so busy right now - it's difficult to get away during the week. I do need to prioritize though! I have considered a private tour - but I'm still uncertain about doing it by myself. I'd be afraid of getting taken advantage of. I'll consider it though! Loved this video! I thought all of your makes are 1000% wearable. The only thing I can see with insect top that could be tweaked is length of the back as I know some people either don't care for that look or like it to be modified. I like it, but maybe that's what's bothering you. Enjoy your cruise. Those cousin shirts are next level! 😂❤
The insect shirt was bothering me before because it was bunching up under the arms. I've lost about 20 lbs since I made it and now it's not bunching anymore. So I'm pretty happy with it now :). Thanks for the feedback and for watching!!

I use a special foot so I don't have to guess a quarter in plus it is all uniforn😉 Those are great tops and dresses! I love the orange with the fringe❤ I have bad knee problems myself, my best advice after PT several times is use a recumbent stationary bike daily it helps! I'll be praying for you. I work from home and although I'm on Teams calls most of the day - I don't have to dress like I would if I was going into the office. I can wear sleeveless. BUT - my home office is always cold - so I never wear sleeveless while I'm working 🤣

Hi Kathleen! The good news is that cruises are experts at avoiding storms. The bad news is that might mean missing some ports and having more "at sea" days. I was worried about that as well but my mind was put at ease by expert cruisers 😊
So glad you're back and inspiring me with your creativity, you have been missed. The blues and pinks rayon dress looks especially good on you as well as the ice-dyed dress. Me, I gave up wearing maxi dresses because they seemed to drag me down and widen me out at the bottom, so now go with the flowy midi length with snappy (but comfortable) sandals. Have a great time on your cruise; hope to hear about it when you return.

I've tried Voltaren and it hasn't seemed to help me too much. I HAVE been taking Osteo Bi-Flex for a couple of weeks now and that seems to be making a difference, so we'll see how that goes! I'm glad you enjoyed the clothes 😍

So glad to see you back! I am sorry about your knee; I have also been struggling with mine. I hate being limited in activity. I love your Nova Midi dress and the fix on your maxi dress. The shirts all look great too. The vibrant colors you choose are so fun and I love your ice dying! I have only finished my first two blocks on Izzy's quilt as you go but yesterday I cut out all the pieces for the other blocks and hope to work on piecing some today.

I love your take on quilting. Two of my sewing besties are great quilters and constantly trying to infect me with it. But I like you I’m not the most precise sewists. On garments you don’t have to be. Also I’m not able to see two exactly identical things like pouches or table sets. But sometimes I like to sew such as a palette cleanser. It’s so good to see you again!

I think that's one of the reasons I took a break. I was feeling compelled to make a different pattern every time I sewed when all I really wanted to do was to make some tried and true patterns in new and fun fabrics. I'm working on how to keep things interesting while still doing what I WANT to do - it's. a fun puzzle 🤣. Thanks so much for watching 💕

Are you seeing a physical therapist for your knee? I found it helpful and prepared me well for the eventual replacement. Love, love your viscose dress. Yes to another caftan. My favorite of your past dresses. I’ve missed you but figured you were just busy with life. Glad you are back. Also, with regard to the cruise, had you considered a private tour in one of the ports? In my old age, I’ve found them to be a life saver. I’ve even hired a taxi driver to just drive me around a couple hours! Worth every Penney.
Hi Barbara! It's so good to "see" you 😊. I am not working with a physical therapist. I really need to get an appt with a dr but work is so busy right now - it's difficult to get away during the week. I do need to prioritize though! I have considered a private tour - but I'm still uncertain about doing it by myself. I'd be afraid of getting taken advantage of. I'll consider it though! Loved this video! I thought all of your makes are 1000% wearable. The only thing I can see with insect top that could be tweaked is length of the back as I know some people either don't care for that look or like it to be modified. I like it, but maybe that's what's bothering you. Enjoy your cruise. Those cousin shirts are next level! 😂❤
The insect shirt was bothering me before because it was bunching up under the arms. I've lost about 20 lbs since I made it and now it's not bunching anymore. So I'm pretty happy with it now :). Thanks for the feedback and for watching!!

Great quilt blocks, yes quilting can be intimidating. I use a special foot so I don't have to guess a quarter in plus it is all uniforn😉

I have bad knee problems myself, my best advice after PT several times is use a recumbent stationary bike daily it helps! I'll be praying for you.

I work from home and although I'm on Teams calls most of the day - I don't have to dress like I would if I was going into the office. I can wear sleeveless. BUT - my home office is always cold - so I never wear sleeveless while I'm working 🤣
