There is no a single new smartphone (year 2018) with s-pen, IR Blaster, audio jack, removable battery, sd and oled 1440p display ... I will use my Note 4 forever.
I agree, Had mine since 2015... Best phone I've ever owned. It's done everything I've asked it to. My only cons would be low-light pics, clunky s-pen button, power & volume buttons are opposite sides so can be annoying to turn the device off when adjusting the volume.
Here is what you need to do: 1. Get rid of Flipboard, from the home screen settings. It slows the phone down, and I don't think anyone uses it. 2. Even though your phone is unable to root, you should be able to enable Developer Options, under About Phone. Click on the build number several times, and you'll be there. Then, go back and open the Developer options. Don't mess with too much, but I would enable UBS Debugging. Let's you connect to a computer easily. But more important, go to Window Animation Scale, Transition Animation Scale, and Animator Duration scale. Usually these are set default to 1X or 1.5 X. There's no reason for that. Set them to 0.5 X, and the phone will speed up. 3. Now and then, clear the cache of your most used apps, web browser, email, etc. Just go to Application Manager, click on the App, and click on storage, most will show a "Clear Cache" option. Clear that cache now and then. I wouldn't clear the data, which is another button, as that will delete all your settings. But clearing cache now and then is good for your phone. If you do all these, your Note 4 will outperform a lot of the new phones on the market today. You just have to take the effort. All the best.
@@wisp2482 That's not the case. The latest international versions of the Note 4 have locked bootloaders. Cannot handle either Superuser or TWRP. They were ok to root with earlier versions though.
Note 4 will always be one of the best phones Samsung's ever made. Hope I don't have to find a new model to replace it soon. I don't care about the premium glossy back and curved screen. I much prefer having a replaceable battery and a headphone jack.
I used mine from Jan 2015 to April 2018 it was a tank. But I'm glad I upgraded to the note 8 (boy is it night and day), I'd say the newer phones are vastly superior even if they are missing some features the note 4 has. You should definitely upgrade even if you keep your n4 around.
That's what I did. Had one Die (emmc read error) so waiting for a new Motherboard. In the meantime bought another one new. I seriously think this will be my last phone. Don't see anything else out there that tops the Note 4 all around. Definitely won't ever buy another new Samsung phone. (Have Note 2 that also died twice! , currently dead (SDS sudden death syndrome).
Note 4... hands down the best Samsung phone to date... (2018). Added wireless charging to mine with a back cover with embedded wireless receiver, so I am not missing any new tech, while having fast charging, IR blaster, removable battery, and a gorgeous flat AMOLED screen, sadly not longer available on new Samsung flagships.

haha!! I know what you mean !! That think was build with quality . Mine didn't just fall , it actually went up into the air and across a room as I tried to catch . Battery and back cover came out and thing happened to the phone
Mine survived a throw out a 2nd story window across the street and in a snowbank for almost 48 hrs until we could finally find it just by calling it. Mine has literally been to hell and back and just keeps going! Just wish there was less lag the older it gets. Only complaint about this phone!
Changing your animation scale in developer options will cause some apps not to scroll properly.. such as chat and messaging systems. As new messages come in, you'll have to manually scroll your page down.. It doesn't effect every app, however if you notice this problem you should definitely set them back as they were..
Whatever the manager at Batteries Plus Bulbs put in there. Changing the battery annually? Now there's a thought... I had the phone two years before the first battery change. I'm about to re-up for another change. I want to hold out for the Note version that folds in half... Note X or Note 10, perhaps??? I won't even consider another phone without a stylus.
Ah nice! The last one I got was from Anker. I also ordered a battery charger for the battery which helps charge the spare batteries while I am using the phone. I am wondering what samsung is going to do with that foldable phone to be honest. There are also rumors they will merge the s series and the mote series. I am also like you, I have to have that Spen. Galaxy note 4 is pretty fast. Using it for nearly 3 years. No issues except battery replacement, already replaced the first one and now it's time for next. battery dead.
May I add a couple suggestions? Root your Note 4, so you can delete bloatware, add Greenify, and take full control of the OS. That will make a difference in battery life, speed, and extend the life of your phone.
Note 4 is my favourite phone I'm using this since it came out and I still use it now it works perfectly! If I had any problem I just replace the battery . I'm dissapointed cause the modern smartphones you cant replace the battery .
This helped my phone - thanks! What also helps is to restrict the background data of unessential apps, which is most of them except for your antivirus etc. I'm now getting 11 hours battery life up from 5 hours before and less heat. Do this: settings > application manager > select each app > data usage > restrict background data
I still have my Note 4. I swear by it. Its a rock solid phone, fast as heck, the camera is great, and it looks nice in my opinion. I use a custom launcher that allows me to mess with the look and feel of the UI. It feels like a new phone still.

Hi, for making note 4 faster First root your phone Than install custom rom Note 7 port for note 4 (erobot v34 or nemesis refined rom) Than install System App Safe Remover from play store and uninstall all aps you dont need from system (it will make back up so you can bring them back from sd card or integral storage) and enjoy your note 4 with antutu score around 90000+
+ guys install google camera (download apk from google search for google camera for android 6.0.1) and you will get sharper images with better quality than with stock camera app P.s. dont use google camera for videos (only 1080p record) use only for taking pictures and selfies
da vllain with custom rom you should install custom kernel (prime kernel) and you can select how fast your phone will work ... you can slow it down somethimes if you need more battery, or you can overclock the cpu speed (my advice only minimum speed and gpu minimum speed set to 420-700 instead of 266-700 )

No doubt a great phone. I'm still using mine with not too many issues. To be honest I don't completely blame Samsung for going away from this model. I put a lot of fault on the major You tube reviewers (they know who they are) who started with all of that premium feel nonsense. Also they kept comparing the looks and materials to Apple. I never thought that made sense as most people put their phone in a case anyway. Because they have a lot of influence and followers Samsung and others felt it was important to have "premium feel/materials". Even now reviewers won't shutup with that. It's all about premium feel, camera and fingerprint location on the back! They treat the headphone jack like it's a booster us feature or something. There is no reason why a flagship spec level phone can't be created like the Note 4. There should be a choice. Now all phones look the same from mid range to upper tier. They all pretty much have the same features as well. I pretty much wish I can keep my Note 4 and just upgrade the specs. Imagine the Note 4 with all the features we love about this phone and galaxy level specs in terms of hardware? What else do you need?

MayitoTek No doubt about it. I'm still holding on to my Note 4 not because I cannot afford a new phone but for my needs I am fine. I do understand others have to upgrade for various reasons so that is what is is and I can admit that yes the new phones do look nicer compared to my Note 4 but in my opinion there should be a option for every type of phone user. The way I see it is like this, Imagine every PC/laptop manufacturer started copying Apple's model? No more ram upgrades for you for starters and let's mark up our units 65%!! Everyone would scream bloody Mary. I don't understand why it's acceptable for that to be the case with smart phones. Well I know one reason why as I mentioned it in my first comment but it really should not be this way. Imagine every person who reviewed sports cars stated bitching about the car having a manual transmission and all of a sudden a year or two later no more manuals! Congratulations on your video. I had the Note 4 since it came out and and i love this phone. I don't want to let ut go. I am disappointed that the Note 8 does not have the IR blaster i use it all the time. The only problem that I've had with my phone for a long time now is the GPS getting lost all the time. It's always telling me searching for GPS. Have you heard this from other users before? if you could help me out with that I would appreciate it thank you.
Hi Angel, the GPS is one of the issue many people have mentioned regarding the Note 4. I also have issues with the GPS sometimes on the Note 4. I don't know that there is an actual fix or something that can help improve it .
You can also check your ram usage by opening task manager. If you are using more than 2gbs of ram then you have a bunch of programs running in the background. Even if you exit them some will still be running. It is useful to evaluate every app you have to decide if it's worth keeping. One more tip is to avoid filling your storage. Try to maintain no more than 75% usage.

I love my Note 4, however one problem has developed recently; my voice to text will only accept about 4 or 5 words and then stops ... if I want to continue I must tap the mike icon and again only a few words are converted to text. My son had the same problem on his Note 4 before he went to a new phone. Has anyone had this problem or can suggest a solution?
Hi Nicholas, I don't recall someone mentioning similar issue before . One thing I always suggest is to do a main phone reset to rule out a glitch or issue with the software.
MyitoTek, as a long time, loyal note 4 user, upon stumbling accross this video, I instantly subscribed as this (you) is far superior to any other help vids for this device. I am currently researching micro SD cards to upgrade storage. Please help me know what card you recommend as well as any advice and suggestions you can offer on this subject. Also, I have heard of many issues with the SanDisk brand. Also problems with note 4 curupting and many other problems with these cards. I look forward to hearing your input on this subject.

Nice to see so many people are still using Note 4 but I thought there is a common problem with this phone nowadays and it's weird there are no comments about it. For me it started 2 years ago that my phone didn't want to turn on and even if it did an android logo appeared with some information (also that it's downloading something and dont turn it off - I left it like that for 2 days still showed me the same thing). In some occasion it turned on properly but at low battery (around 10-15) it turned off itself. So I had to remove the battery and put it back so many times to turn it on in those 2 years. It was really a patient game. In the last 2 months it turned off again and I can't turn it on. 2 days ago it showed me the android logo with dowloading stuff, left it for couple days - nothing happened. I don't really want to lose this phone because I love it but I can't turn it on. Any suggestion? Also I'm afraid to buy a new one because I don't know if it's gonna have the same issue one day...
I have made diff videos on the N4 these past two years and got alot of feedback from many users around the world. Sounds like your hardware is bad, very common issue with the N4. That actually happened to my first N4. It kept restarting and one day it just never came back on . Many people have suggested leaving it in the freezer for about 15-30 mins and trying to turn it on again .. That is just a temp solution , once it comes on .. install an app called wakelock that will keep the phone from restarting . if you need a phone for the daily basis I would suggest you don't get another N4 as it seems there are alot of the out there with this issue and you may be stuck with another defective unit .
Another tip I use is, go back to developer options, scroll all the way down to limit background processes, it will say STANDARD LIMIT, click that and run at most 3. I hope this helps anyone out there looking for even more speed.
Hello Thanks for sharing this information I reset my Note 4 to factory reset to sell and they sent it back stating the phone keeps overheating. I never had this problem. Could this have been caused by the reset?
Hi Cheryl, not at all.. Usually this is what you do to eliminate any software issue you may have on the phone. This phone is known to overheat if is pushed to the limits, also if there are apps running in the background may cause the phone to overheat when you are just watching a video. This phone is also known for having a hardware issue which cause the phone to restart and overheat. Does your phone restart on its own ?
MayitoTek please make one video for space I always having problem with memory but my note 4 is so fast now and when I watch video on youtube it's not even buffering I am like woow man 😚
there is not much you can do on space, best way is to back up all the videos and pictures on a computer , hard drive, or cloud. You can always add an external micro SD card, but I heard it tends to also slow down the phone.
Note 4 is still going strong but fast charging does not work, even after a factory reset and new cables/usb adapters. Thank god for removable battery tho.
I got a backup note 4 which is now used for quick charging spare batteries which I rotate and an external charger for avoiding heating up the primary phone.
Do you face any problems with launching apps or not supporting some apps anymore? Does it lag? Battery life? Sorry I know I ask alot but don't wonna regret buying it after spending money 😅

thak you very much mate for your help. I had been using the note 4 for past 2 years now. The RAM management has become a big issue, where the phone shows in RED every few minutes and gets very HOT. I have ro manually keep closing all the unwanted app atleast 50 times a day and its very frustrating. Any information on how to increase the RAM management will be appreciated...thanks
if you have the extra cash go for it , you will not regret it . I got it about a month ago for $750 and works like a charm. So far no issues, still have lots of love for that Note 4 that's why I am still keeping it . Note 9 is around the corner, so that means you could go for the Note 9 of get the Note 8 for a lower price.

I was given this phone by a friend because it was looping at startup. So reinstalled firmware and this phone rocks! I am still paying on my newer version of samsung thru sprint however it sits in my closet this phone is so much better that I changed my number over to the note 4.

I think this is common with the Note 4, if you push it to the limit it will get hot . I always experienced that .. As far as your phone reaching 2.25 Gb, I covered that on the video on what I did to speed up mine. Did you have a question in particular after watching the video??
One thing that you MUST share regarding NOTE 4 is that its Marshmallow bug ! It switches off and restarts..lagging issues and screen freezing..But not to worry just download wake lock app and it solves all the issues
Many people have reported that issue, but I dont think is related to the Marshmallow update. I think some people were having this issue initially when Marshmallow was released, but was related to some glitch . Going back to the issue with Note 4s restarting , in my opinion that is as result of a hardware issue which many Note 4's were/are impacted. My first Note 4 was working great and had it for a year. One day I tested out the VR headset for about 30 mins, I remember the phone got really hot and it restarted on its own . After that the phone kept restarting on its own through out the day . At the time I still had Lollipop, few weeks later I upgraded to Marshmallow hopping the issue would go away, but it didn't. After several weeks later, one day the phone restarted and never came back on . I am trying to gather more info on what possibly could be causing so many Note 4s to have this issue, hope to gather enough info and make a video about it . amirul zaid is this legit? Im on marshmallow and only relying on Wakelock to keep my Note 4 from restarting or freezing. Will changing battery fix this issue? Thanks
I now own three of the Note 4 phones as of December 2019. IR Blaster is the number one reason I keep these phones! Great as a remote to turn off Televisions everywhere, especially while you are eating or on a date. New spare batteries from Gorilla Battery mean less charging. Use Greenify to freeze all those apps you cannot install. This will speed up the phone. I also disable Location, Bluetooth, WiFi and Mobile Data - UNTIL I need them. Remove the SD Card if you don't need it as the indexing runs on that card and uses CPU time. Turn off all online back ups. ( Just Sync manually).

I use an iPhone Plus for my day to day but they don’t offer much in VR and 360 video arena so I’ve been looking at the Note 4 and 5 (will probably get an old Gear VR or China knock off). I’ve pretty much decided to get a Note 4 now after watching your videos. Could you give me any extra advice re Note 4 or 5 when it comes to VR and 360 like is the Note 5 really any better when it comes to that? Hi Jay, I think the Note 5 will do better.. will have a faster processor and more RAM. Issue is that the Note 5 will not have removable battery and if you get it used, it probably wont have a good battery on it . For that, you will need to pay to have someone replace the battery to get the most out of it . Story: ( below is only my opinion) A VR messed up my first Note 4. I had the Note 4 for a year, I tried a VR headset for the first time ( for about 30 mins). the phone got very hot and it restarted. After that, the note 4 continued restarting on its own and one day it never came back on . This is a common issue with the Note 4's, seems some issue with the hardware. Based on experience, I feel that the VR headset pushed the phone to its limits causing the hardware to go bad.
Since You are talking about the note 4, please check how the ir blaster can be be fixed, since mine stopped working after updating from the version 5 to 6. PLEASEEEEEEE
I would need to have a phone which is not working, some people have mentioned they were able to fix some glitches by resetting the phone after downloading a new OS update.. that would be one of the things I would do. If I find out anything, will let you know

Yes, you have to make sure to save all your media files, ensure you log your user is, pass, emails.. phone will be back to the original state when it was taken out of the box..
I assume you did a reset to ensure it was not a software issue? There are some apps that allow you to increase the volume, that may be something worth checking out

what's is there to know about the Pen? I've try this once, I click the pen while the carma app was open take picture the screen went blank for long time. the only to come back live is to charge it. it didn't need it but it work.
that is strange , I had a similar issue before when trying to take a pic.. It ended up been a faulty battery . When I snapped a pic ( mainly if it had the flash on ) the phone would just turn off.

it is hard to find an original Samsung battery. You can try amazon, I just got an Anker battery in amazon as many people suggested it . So far is working good. Also many people have suggested zerolemon brand

i ended up changing the whole motherboard to a used one from ebay for about 40 dollars. luckily it did not have the emmc chip failure that i used to have. it still does random restarts now and then, but seems intermittent. before i couldnt start the camera fx, it would shut down. but at least i get high numbers in androbench, and i can now restart the phone if it turns off. before i had to put it in the freezer for 5 min and then reinsert the battery. hopefully it will last. i tried the cardboard solution but it would only last a week or so, then back to crap.
MayitoTek yes, well its a brand new battery (but third party), then I have 2 original Samsung batteries. I shall do some more testing, but it seems that the phone switches off when I do "too much too fast" at the same time. But I'm very happy with the "new" motherboard so far. For 40 dollars it's been a good buy, if I can get another year out of it!
@@MayitoTek Youy know what, i think it IS the "new" third party battery. when i try to use my camera, and the phone shuts off, the battery status will have gone from 85% to 25% on the restart, and then to 0%, then on restart again its back at 85%, so somethings up with it. do you know any goood sources for new reliable 3rd party batteries for our note 4?
I still have my Note 4, but it's too damn slow. When I plug in android auto, it takes forever to load, and it hurt me to stop using it as my everyday phone. Got the S9+ now, and I just miss the IR blaster.
I noticed that if I use it every once in a while it takes forever to start working faster. Noticed that it would run all the notifications/updates causing the OS to bug down
my advice is to get a refurbished one, and see if you can get some kind of warranty on it .. Buying a used phone that is this old online can be sketchy.. I know in amazon some of the post offer a 90 day warranty..
If you are in uk you can buy from cex (high street shop) offers 2 yr warranty because they buy/sell technology and always inspect for fault or problems before sale. I buy and sell many things there, never problems

But I beg you pleaseeee to do a video about this Note 4 issue; On 2017 some if not must of the Galaxy Note 4 started to freeze and reboot it self out of nowhere, I searched everywhere till I finally found a video on TH-cam with people with the same issue and they were all sugesting to download the app WakeLock I think it basically sets your CPU On at all time. Without this my phone starts acting up again but with it it makes it ridiculously slow. Do you by any chance know of a more permanent solution? And also do you know how I can Upgrade my Android versión whit out going to a Samsung store to be upgraded? We don't have specialized stores like that were I live.. Muchas gracias! Hola JiniusBeauty, The issue you described is well known with the Note 4s. It is very strange because not every one is reporting that issue. I have owned three Note 4s and one of them had that issue. I did alot of research and tried every possible solution in the book but was not able to get it resolved. That seems to be a hardware issue, which causes the phone to restart. I also read about WakeLock and seems to be just a temp solution. My note 4 kept getting worst as time progressed, until one time it just never came back on . As far as getting the latest update, if you are not able to get it from Samsung itself or the carrier itself I don't have an answer. Before finding out I could get it from the Samsung Experience Shop, I tried to install it manually by downloading different version online, but was not able to install it successfully.

had 2 note 4`s with the same issue, gave them away for freesome suggest that it might have been the bad batteries, have you tried a new battery? it might be true cose of the low voltage/amperage of the bad one and the CPU cant get enough power to work
Jin, I had the same issue with my note 4, when the battery reached 40-30 percent it would turn off by itself and tried to reboot a few times by itself, I replaced the battery, now it works flawlessly.
you go to Settings>General>About Device> Android Version . You will see some numbers under that field. 6.0.1 _. Marshmallow.. if you tab that field very fast you will see a new animation display
hey John, if you are just installing a new update. It "should not " delete any of your data. BUT.. Anything that can go wrong will go wrong , there are many times that phones crash during a software update and as result all the data is lost. My advice is that you backup all your media files and write down all the userIDs/emails/pass of all the apps you use. This is just in case.
below are the steps I grabbed from an online site Pull down the notification area on your note by swiping down from the top of the phones screen.Press the gear symbol in the top right corner of the notification area.Scroll down to the very bottom of the next screen and press “About device”.Now press “Software updates” which will take you to the next screen.Depending if you are on a data plan which includes lots of mobile data traffic I suggest you hit “Wi-Fi only” before proceeding as some of these updates can be more than 1GB in size.Make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi and press “Update now”.Press ok on the next screen, and your Galaxy Note 4 will connect to Samsung servers to check for available updates.
On average I am getting about 5 hours of screen on time, depends on how new is the battery and what you are doing with the phone. Many people still use the Note 4 and still recommend it , it just depend on how much you paid for it. Here in the US I value it between $150 - $190.

I agree, Had mine since 2015... Best phone I've ever owned. It's done everything I've asked it to. My only cons would be low-light pics, clunky s-pen button, power & volume buttons are opposite sides so can be annoying to turn the device off when adjusting the volume.
Here is what you need to do:
1. Get rid of Flipboard, from the home screen settings. It slows the phone down, and I don't think anyone uses it.
2. Even though your phone is unable to root, you should be able to enable Developer Options, under About Phone. Click on the build number several times, and you'll be there. Then, go back and open the Developer options. Don't mess with too much, but I would enable UBS Debugging. Let's you connect to a computer easily. But more important, go to Window Animation Scale, Transition Animation Scale, and Animator Duration scale. Usually these are set default to 1X or 1.5 X. There's no reason for that. Set them to 0.5 X, and the phone will speed up.
3. Now and then, clear the cache of your most used apps, web browser, email, etc. Just go to Application Manager, click on the App, and click on storage, most will show a "Clear Cache" option. Clear that cache now and then. I wouldn't clear the data, which is another button, as that will delete all your settings. But clearing cache now and then is good for your phone. If you do all these, your Note 4 will outperform a lot of the new phones on the market today. You just have to take the effort. All the best.

@@wisp2482 That's not the case. The latest international versions of the Note 4 have locked bootloaders. Cannot handle either Superuser or TWRP. They were ok to root with earlier versions though.
Note 4 will always be one of the best phones Samsung's ever made. Hope I don't have to find a new model to replace it soon. I don't care about the premium glossy back and curved screen. I much prefer having a replaceable battery and a headphone jack.

I used mine from Jan 2015 to April 2018 it was a tank. But I'm glad I upgraded to the note 8 (boy is it night and day), I'd say the newer phones are vastly superior even if they are missing some features the note 4 has. You should definitely upgrade even if you keep your n4 around.
That's what I did. Had one Die (emmc read error) so waiting for a new Motherboard. In the meantime bought another one new. I seriously think this will be my last phone. Don't see anything else out there that tops the Note 4 all around. Definitely won't ever buy another new Samsung phone. (Have Note 2 that also died twice! , currently dead (SDS sudden death syndrome).

Note 4... hands down the best Samsung phone to date... (2018). Added wireless charging to mine with a back cover with embedded wireless receiver, so I am not missing any new tech, while having fast charging, IR blaster, removable battery, and a gorgeous flat AMOLED screen, sadly not longer available on new Samsung flagships.
I dont really use wireless charging on the Note8, but I do wish I could swap the battery like I do on the Note 4
My 10,000mah prevents my need for charging.

Mine survived a throw out a 2nd story window across the street and in a snowbank for almost 48 hrs until we could finally find it just by calling it. Mine has literally been to hell and back and just keeps going! Just wish there was less lag the older it gets. Only complaint about this phone!

Changing your animation scale in developer options will cause some apps not to scroll properly.. such as chat and messaging systems. As new messages come in, you'll have to manually scroll your page down..
It doesn't effect every app, however if you notice this problem you should definitely set them back as they were..

Whatever the manager at Batteries Plus Bulbs put in there. Changing the battery annually? Now there's a thought... I had the phone two years before the first battery change. I'm about to re-up for another change. I want to hold out for the Note version that folds in half... Note X or Note 10, perhaps??? I won't even consider another phone without a stylus.
Ah nice! The last one I got was from Anker. I also ordered a battery charger for the battery which helps charge the spare batteries while I am using the phone. I am wondering what samsung is going to do with that foldable phone to be honest. There are also rumors they will merge the s series and the mote series. I am also like you, I have to have that Spen. Galaxy note 4 is pretty fast. Using it for nearly 3 years. No issues except battery replacement, already replaced the first one and now it's time for next. battery dead.

May I add a couple suggestions? Root your Note 4, so you can delete bloatware, add Greenify, and take full control of the OS. That will make a difference in battery life, speed, and extend the life of your phone.

Note 4 is my favourite phone I'm using this since it came out and I still use it now it works perfectly! If I had any problem I just replace the battery . I'm dissapointed cause the modern smartphones you cant replace the battery .

This helped my phone - thanks! What also helps is to restrict the background data of unessential apps, which is most of them except for your antivirus etc. I'm now getting 11 hours battery life up from 5 hours before and less heat. Do this: settings > application manager > select each app > data usage > restrict background data

I still have my Note 4. I swear by it. Its a rock solid phone, fast as heck, the camera is great, and it looks nice in my opinion. I use a custom launcher that allows me to mess with the look and feel of the UI. It feels like a new phone still.

First root your phone
Than install custom rom Note 7 port for note 4 (erobot v34 or nemesis refined rom)
Than install System App Safe Remover from play store and uninstall all aps you dont need from system (it will make back up so you can bring them back from sd card or integral storage) and enjoy your note 4 with antutu score around 90000+

+ guys install google camera (download apk from google search for google camera for android 6.0.1) and you will get sharper images with better quality than with stock camera app
P.s. dont use google camera for videos (only 1080p record) use only for taking pictures and selfies
Custom ROM is not a good idea at all..it slower the device...No need i think....
da vllain with custom rom you should install custom kernel (prime kernel) and you can select how fast your phone will work ... you can slow it down somethimes if you need more battery, or you can overclock the cpu speed (my advice only minimum speed and gpu minimum speed set to 420-700 instead of 266-700 )

I have also owned over three different Note 4s, one of my first one had that boot loop issue, but the latest one is working like a charm!
No doubt a great phone. I'm still using mine with not too many issues. To be honest I don't completely blame Samsung for going away from this model. I put a lot of fault on the major You tube reviewers (they know who they are) who started with all of that premium feel nonsense. Also they kept comparing the looks and materials to Apple. I never thought that made sense as most people put their phone in a case anyway. Because they have a lot of influence and followers Samsung and others felt it was important to have "premium feel/materials". Even now reviewers won't shutup with that. It's all about premium feel, camera and fingerprint location on the back! They treat the headphone jack like it's a booster us feature or something. There is no reason why a flagship spec level phone can't be created like the Note 4. There should be a choice. Now all phones look the same from mid range to upper tier. They all pretty much have the same features as well. I pretty much wish I can keep my Note 4 and just upgrade the specs. Imagine the Note 4 with all the features we love about this phone and galaxy level specs in terms of hardware? What else do you need?
I think we share the same feeling. I Actually have a video coming up on Thursday where I talk about some of the things you mentioned. I am having a hard time letting go of the Note 4 even after upgrading to the Note 8.
MayitoTek No doubt about it. I'm still holding on to my Note 4 not because I cannot afford a new phone but for my needs I am fine. I do understand others have to upgrade for various reasons so that is what is is and I can admit that yes the new phones do look nicer compared to my Note 4 but in my opinion there should be a option for every type of phone user. The way I see it is like this, Imagine every PC/laptop manufacturer started copying Apple's model? No more ram upgrades for you for starters and let's mark up our units 65%!! Everyone would scream bloody Mary. I don't understand why it's acceptable for that to be the case with smart phones. Well I know one reason why as I mentioned it in my first comment but it really should not be this way. Imagine every person who reviewed sports cars stated bitching about the car having a manual transmission and all of a sudden a year or two later no more manuals! Then it becomes a taboo to even mention it. Fucking ridiculous!

Congratulations on your video. I had the Note 4 since it came out and and i love this phone. I don't want to let ut go. I am disappointed that the Note 8 does not have the IR blaster i use it all the time. The only problem that I've had with my phone for a long time now is the GPS getting lost all the time. It's always telling me searching for GPS. Have you heard this from other users before? if you could help me out with that I would appreciate it thank you.
Hi Angel, the GPS is one of the issue many people have mentioned regarding the Note 4. I also have issues with the GPS sometimes on the Note 4. I don't know that there is an actual fix or something that can help improve it .
You can also check your ram usage by opening task manager. If you are using more than 2gbs of ram then you have a bunch of programs running in the background. Even if you exit them some will still be running. It is useful to evaluate every app you have to decide if it's worth keeping. One more tip is to avoid filling your storage. Try to maintain no more than 75% usage.

I love my Note 4, however one problem has developed recently; my voice to text will only accept about 4 or 5 words and then stops ... if I want to continue I must tap the mike icon and again only a few words are converted to text. My son had the same problem on his Note 4 before he went to a new phone. Has anyone had this problem or can suggest a solution?
Hi Nicholas, I don't recall someone mentioning similar issue before . One thing I always suggest is to do a main phone reset to rule out a glitch or issue with the software.
I miss my note 4 went kaput earlier this year and going to try and get the mmc chip replaced. Best phone I ever had seriously was very happy with it.

I am currently researching micro SD cards to upgrade storage. Please help me know what card you recommend as well as any advice and suggestions you can offer on this subject. Nice to see so many people are still using Note 4 but I thought there is a common problem with this phone nowadays and it's weird there are no comments about it. For me it started 2 years ago that my phone didn't want to turn on and even if it did an android logo appeared with some information (also that it's downloading something and dont turn it off - I left it like that for 2 days still showed me the same thing). In some occasion it turned on properly but at low battery (around 10-15) it turned off itself. So I had to remove the battery and put it back so many times to turn it on in those 2 years. It was really a patient game. In the last 2 months it turned off again and I can't turn it on. 2 days ago it showed me the android logo with dowloading stuff, left it for couple days - nothing happened. I don't really want to lose this phone because I love it but I can't turn it on. Any suggestion? Also I'm afraid to buy a new one because I don't know if it's gonna have the same issue one day...
I have made diff videos on the N4 these past two years and got alot of feedback from many users around the world.
Sounds like your hardware is bad, very common issue with the N4. That actually happened to my first N4. It kept restarting and one day it just never came back on . Many people have suggested leaving it in the freezer for about 15-30 mins and trying to turn it on again .. That is just a temp solution , once it comes on .. install an app called wakelock that will keep the phone from restarting . if you need a phone for the daily basis I would suggest you don't get another N4 as it seems there are alot of the out there with this issue and you may be stuck with another defective unit .
I've had this exact issue. Once I did get it to start again I reset it and so far so good.

Another tip I use is, go back to developer options, scroll all the way down to limit background processes, it will say STANDARD LIMIT, click that and run at most 3. I hope this helps anyone out there looking for even more speed.

I reset my Note 4 to factory reset to sell and they sent it back stating the phone keeps overheating. I never had this problem. Could this have been caused by the reset?
Hi Cheryl, not at all.. Usually this is what you do to eliminate any software issue you may have on the phone.
This phone is known to overheat if is pushed to the limits, also if there are apps running in the background may cause the phone to overheat when you are just watching a video.
This phone is also known for having a hardware issue which cause the phone to restart and overheat. Does your phone restart on its own ?

there is not much you can do on space, best way is to back up all the videos and pictures on a computer , hard drive, or cloud. You can always add an external micro SD card, but I heard it tends to also slow down the phone.

Note 4 is still going strong but fast charging does not work, even after a factory reset and new cables/usb adapters. Thank god for removable battery tho.

I got a backup note 4 which is now used for quick charging spare batteries which I rotate and an external charger for avoiding heating up the primary phone.

thak you very much mate for your help. I had been using the note 4 for past 2 years now. The RAM management has become a big issue, where the phone shows in RED every few minutes and gets very HOT. I have ro manually keep closing all the unwanted app atleast 50 times a day and its very frustrating. Any information on how to increase the RAM management will be appreciated...thanks
Hi ! the best way is to uninstall and disable all the apps you don't use. Closing them means, they will open and run in the background eventually

if you have the extra cash go for it , you will not regret it . I got it about a month ago for $750 and works like a charm. So far no issues, still have lots of love for that Note 4 that's why I am still keeping it . Note 9 is around the corner, so that means you could go for the Note 9 of get the Note 8 for a lower price.

I was given this phone by a friend because it was looping at startup. So reinstalled firmware and this phone rocks! I am still paying on my newer version of samsung thru sprint however it sits in my closet this phone is so much better that I changed my number over to the note 4.

I think this is common with the Note 4, if you push it to the limit it will get hot . I always experienced that .. As far as your phone reaching 2.25 Gb, I covered that on the video on what I did to speed up mine. Did you have a question in particular after watching the video??
One thing that you MUST share regarding NOTE 4 is that its Marshmallow bug ! It switches off and restarts..lagging issues and screen freezing..But not to worry just download wake lock app and it solves all the issues
Many people have reported that issue, but I dont think is related to the Marshmallow update. I think some people were having this issue initially when Marshmallow was released, but was related to some glitch .
Going back to the issue with Note 4s restarting , in my opinion that is as result of a hardware issue which many Note 4's were/are impacted.
My first Note 4 was working great and had it for a year. One day I tested out the VR headset for about 30 mins, I remember the phone got really hot and it restarted on its own . After that the phone kept restarting on its own through out the day . At the time I still had Lollipop, few weeks later I upgraded to Marshmallow hopping the issue would go away, but it didn't. After several weeks later, one day the phone restarted and never came back on . amirul zaid is this legit? Im on marshmallow and only relying on Wakelock to keep my Note 4 from restarting or freezing. Will changing battery fix this issue? Thanks
I now own three of the Note 4 phones as of December 2019. IR Blaster is the number one reason I keep these phones! Great as a remote to turn off Televisions everywhere, especially while you are eating or on a date. New spare batteries from Gorilla Battery mean less charging. Use Greenify to freeze all those apps you cannot install. This will speed up the phone. I also disable Location, Bluetooth, WiFi and Mobile Data - UNTIL I need them. Remove the SD Card if you don't need it as the indexing runs on that card and uses CPU time. Turn off all online back ups. ( Just Sync manually).
Hi great video just watched your Note 4 in 2018 too. I use an iPhone Plus for my day to day but they don’t offer much in VR and 360 video arena so I’ve been looking at the Note 4 and 5 (will probably get an old Gear VR or China knock off). I’ve pretty much decided to get a Note 4 now after watching your videos. Could you give me any extra advice re Note 4 or 5 when it comes to VR and 360 like is the Note 5 really any better when it comes to that? Appreciate any tips you or your followers can provide, cheers.
Hi Jay, I think the Note 5 will do better.. will have a faster processor and more RAM. Issue is that the Note 5 will not have removable battery and if you get it used, it probably wont have a good battery on it . For that, you will need to pay to have someone replace the battery to get the most out of it .
Story: ( below is only my opinion)
A VR messed up my first Note 4. I had the Note 4 for a year, I tried a VR headset for the first time ( for about 30 mins). the phone got very hot and it restarted. After that, the note 4 continued restarting on its own and one day it never came back on . This is a common issue with the Note 4's, seems some issue with the hardware. Based on experience, I feel that the VR headset pushed the phone to its limits causing the hardware to go bad.

Since You are talking about the note 4, please check how the ir blaster can be be fixed, since mine stopped working after updating from the version 5 to 6. PLEASEEEEEEE
I would need to have a phone which is not working, some people have mentioned they were able to fix some glitches by resetting the phone after downloading a new OS update.. that would be one of the things I would do. If I find out anything, will let you know
Im using Air rom V3 For my SM-N910L variant and runs perfectly. It has all spens feature with Translator which is cool. I'm also using custom kernel.

ryanspianoaccount don't upgrade. Marshmallow has too many issues. Overheating, lag, etc. Not worth it.

Yes, you have to make sure to save all your media files, ensure you log your user is, pass, emails.. phone will be back to the original state when it was taken out of the box..
I like the note 4 but my call volume is very low. Tried replacing the speaker but it didn't do anything.
I assume you did a reset to ensure it was not a software issue? There are some apps that allow you to increase the volume, that may be something worth checking out
Please do a video on how games (pubg) does on the note 4. I play pubg on my note 4 and it crashes all the time. Some help tips will be very much appreciated.

what's is there to know about the Pen? I've try this once, I click the pen while the carma app was open take picture the screen went blank for long time. the only to come back live is to charge it. it didn't need it but it work.
that is strange , I had a similar issue before when trying to take a pic.. It ended up been a faulty battery . When I snapped a pic ( mainly if it had the flash on ) the phone would just turn off.

it is hard to find an original Samsung battery. You can try amazon, I just got an Anker battery in amazon as many people suggested it . So far is working good. Also many people have suggested zerolemon brand

i ended up changing the whole motherboard to a used one from ebay for about 40 dollars. luckily it did not have the emmc chip failure that i used to have. it still does random restarts now and then, but seems intermittent. before i couldnt start the camera fx, it would shut down. but at least i get high numbers in androbench, and i can now restart the phone if it turns off. before i had to put it in the freezer for 5 min and then reinsert the battery. hopefully it will last. i tried the cardboard solution but it would only last a week or so, then back to crap.
I was going to mention the cardboard solution , i assume you already ruled out the battery?
MayitoTek yes, well its a brand new battery (but third party), then I have 2 original Samsung batteries. I shall do some more testing, but it seems that the phone switches off when I do "too much too fast" at the same time. But I'm very happy with the "new" motherboard so far. For 40 dollars it's been a good buy, if I can get another year out of it!
@@MayitoTek Youy know what, i think it IS the "new" third party battery. when i try to use my camera, and the phone shuts off, the battery status will have gone from 85% to 25% on the restart, and then to 0%, then on restart again its back at 85%, so somethings up with it. do you know any goood sources for new reliable 3rd party batteries for our note 4?

I still have my Note 4, but it's too damn slow. When I plug in android auto, it takes forever to load, and it hurt me to stop using it as my everyday phone. Got the S9+ now, and I just miss the IR blaster.
I noticed that if I use it every once in a while it takes forever to start working faster. Noticed that it would run all the notifications/updates causing the OS to bug down

my advice is to get a refurbished one, and see if you can get some kind of warranty on it .. Buying a used phone that is this old online can be sketchy.. I know in amazon some of the post offer a 90 day warranty..
If you are in uk you can buy from cex (high street shop) offers 2 yr warranty because they buy/sell technology and always inspect for fault or problems before sale. I buy and sell many things there, never problems

But I beg you pleaseeee to do a video about this Note 4 issue; On 2017 some if not must of the Galaxy Note 4 started to freeze and reboot it self out of nowhere, I searched everywhere till I finally found a video on TH-cam with people with the same issue and they were all sugesting to download the app WakeLock I think it basically sets your CPU On at all time. Without this my phone starts acting up again but with it it makes it ridiculously slow.
Do you by any chance know of a more permanent solution? And also do you know how I can Upgrade my Android versión whit out going to a Samsung store to be upgraded? We don't have specialized stores like that were I live..

The issue you described is well known with the Note 4s. It is very strange because not every one is reporting that issue. I have owned three Note 4s and one of them had that issue. I did alot of research and tried every possible solution in the book but was not able to get it resolved. That seems to be a hardware issue, which causes the phone to restart. I also read about WakeLock and seems to be just a temp solution. My note 4 kept getting worst as time progressed, until one time it just never came back on .
As far as getting the latest update, if you are not able to get it from Samsung itself or the carrier itself I don't have an answer. Before finding out I could get it from the Samsung Experience Shop, I tried to install it manually by downloading different version online, but was not able to install it successfully.

had 2 note 4`s with the same issue, gave them away for freesome suggest that it might have been the bad batteries, have you tried a new battery? it might be true cose of the low voltage/amperage of the bad one and the CPU cant get enough power to work

Jin, I had the same issue with my note 4, when the battery reached 40-30 percent it would turn off by itself and tried to reboot a few times by itself, I replaced the battery, now it works flawlessly.

you go to Settings>General>About Device> Android Version . You will see some numbers under that field. 6.0.1 _. Marshmallow.. if you tab that field very fast you will see a new animation display

hey John, if you are just installing a new update. It "should not " delete any of your data.
BUT..
Anything that can go wrong will go wrong , there are many times that phones crash during a software update and as result all the data is lost. My advice is that you backup all your media files and write down all the userIDs/emails/pass of all the apps you use. This is just in case.

below are the steps I grabbed from an online site
Pull down the notification area on your note by swiping down from the top of the phones screen.Press the gear symbol in the top right corner of the notification area.Scroll down to the very bottom of the next screen and press “About device”.Now press “Software updates” which will take you to the next screen.Depending if you are on a data plan which includes lots of mobile data traffic I suggest you hit “Wi-Fi only” before proceeding as some of these updates can be more than 1GB in size.Make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi and press “Update now”.Press ok on the next screen, and your Galaxy Note 4 will connect to Samsung servers to check for available updates.

On average I am getting about 5 hours of screen on time, depends on how new is the battery and what you are doing with the phone. Many people still use the Note 4 and still recommend it , it just depend on how much you paid for it. Here in the US I value it between $150 - $190.
