    Hey Guys, I am getting asked a lot about which is the best battery to buy at the moment for the Note 4 . Based on all the feedback I got from you guys on all my Note 4 videos, below are the top three that are recommended by Note 4 users around the world. Make sure to check the Note 4's model number for full compatibility. Leave some feedback please!

      Just got a RAV last week or two. Was doing great (1 charge, 2 days including mobile hotspot), but then today it dropped from 98% to 30% in under a few hours, with a warning that it was overheating! I put it into power saver and it got me through the day; I'd never seen that warning before. (To be fair, usually because phone would just DIE at 40%) but I have xposed module to show temp, and it was HOT! No apps opened, and junkware removed! (I mean I STRIP that phone: no G+, etc). I hope I got bad batt because it has year warranty, but I fear it may be the hardware 😭😭😭 GOT to have replaceable batt and BIG phablet. VZW lady said "have free Note 9!" and I said "it got root?" I'm dx-ing now but anyone else have RAV problems on Note 4? I love my phone! _But I need it to work!_

    top issue is the motherboard overheating and not being able to start it if the battery dies. if this happens, stick it in the fridge for 30 min, works every time for me. If you stick it in the freezer, there will be condensation, beware of that, but dont let the phone die! and use wakelock level 4. I really love my note 4, and I'm not about to spend 1200 dollars on a note 9. Thats insanity.

Using the note 4 for over a year and it's still going strong despite the issues. iv rammed it full of apps, tons of widgets, few always on background apps(like volume slider) , internal and external memory almost maxed out, and it's still keeps chugging along! Also dropped it probably 50 times with no case, on hard surfaces and the screen refuses to crack. Not even a scratch. Crazy. Love it.

    My problems with the note 4:
    1.Screen burn in caused by youtube.
    2. I had to use debloater to stop all software updates and notifications of software updates because i swear samsung deliberately slows down your phone with those.
    3. Screen orientation was flaky but i downloaded screen orientation app to fix that.
    4.Battery but a new battery and hot swapping with a external battery charger fixed that.
    Other than that awsome phone.

    When phone is restarting randomly and freezing use wakelock app..
    disable this app :
    Samsung health app (S health)
    Evernote
    Flipboard
    Google Play Movies & TV
    Google Play Newsstand

      Ganesh Rajgurav i have same pblm the capasitors for the emmc chip got dammaged in this case .. i tryed many methords but i found my own solution it is not possible to every one in all situations.
      1 disconnect battery
      2 press all buttons on the phone ( to disscharge all capasitors..)
      3 insert the battery and wait for 10 15 sec ( for charging the powering capasitors )
      4 after 15 sec press power . It will do normal boot and read emmc chip
      And install wake lock power manager..
      U have a expert service center in ur area tell them to replace all capasitors near EMMC chip and near Power ic ...

    • @MayitoTek
      @MayitoTek  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      you may have some apps running in the background. Check the RAM usage, try doing a master reset .. if that does not help, most likely it is the hardware. It is normal for this phone to get very hot when pushed, but if is getting hot with low usage is not good

  • @MrYucantcme

    My phone has been over heating and freezing. I thought it was because it was outdated since I have replaced the battery so many times before (I'm on my 3rd one). I was waiting on the rollout of the note 9 so I can get a note 8 from the drastically reduced price. However I worry about that battery since I cannot be changed. I never thought about the motherboard possibly going bad. I really like the note 4 for with all the options of changeable battery and expandable memory. Going to miss this great phone :(

    • @MayitoTek
      @MayitoTek  6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hi Stan, if your phone is not restarting on its own I don't think it will have the issue with the motherboard. I made a video on my channel on how to make the note 4 faster.. check it out and see if it helps. I think going for the Note 8 when the Note 9 comes out will be the smart thing to do . Sadly most of the top phone manufacturers are now moving to a non removable battery .
      I will get the Note 9 when it comes out and plan on doing comparison with the note 4 and note 8 .

      @MrYucantcme 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      MayitoTek thanks. I will watch your video. I can't wait to see your comparison video also. I hate not having the removable batteries on these phones especially when it messes with the waterproof casing. I will always worry if the battery goes bad and how I will replace it.

    My Note 4 GPS has always worked fine on Google maps, Waze, and the Life360 app. I just changed my battery for the first time a couple months ago. I will look into calibrating the battery, which I've never heard of. Sometimes my Note 4 will be very slow where the keyboard doesn't keep up with my texting, but I keep typing anyway and the words will suddenly appear. It seems to be around the same time in the morning so I'm assuming perhaps a security scan is taking place in the background sucking up the resources. So far, everything is still working well enough for me to keep it. I appreciate your Note 4 videos. I'm looking forward to your Note 9 video.

    • @MayitoTek
      @MayitoTek  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thanks for the feedback!!! if that doesn't happen all the time, sounds that there is an app running in the background taking most of the resources. As you mentioned, possibly the security scan. If your battery charges up to 100% and the phones does not shut off while having 1%+ I assume is good and no need for calibration . Also as batteries start getting old, they will shutoff when they hit a 15% or < which may be a good idea to do a calibration just to rule that out . am also looking forward to getting the Note 9 soon!! Thank you !! I

    I have the Note 4 for over 4 and a half years and is still working perfectly, except the battery, in the morning is 100% and in five-six hours of normal usage is almost empty, but i get used to this and i dont see it as a big problem (is the original battery). In the rest, everything is working more than fine. I just love this phone, in the last year i searched to replace the Note 4 and couldnt find any other phone to do the things that Note 4 does (phones with pen, because i use the pen daily). Note 9 is too tall, thats why i love note 4, the aspect ratio is perfect for me. I cannot find anything wrong with my Note 4. They will not make another phone like this one very soon. :((((((

    • @MayitoTek
      @MayitoTek  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree!! I still have a hard time typing in the N8 and N9. The N4 is the best for the keyboard because of the aspect ration. You probably just want to go get a new battery, they cost around $15 .

    Yes had the hot phone problem and also when I used to plug my charger in if it was say under 20% once the charger was in the phone instead of going up in % it would drop down 19, 18,17 and so on. What I did when it did this was just turn phone off and pull battery out and battery was hot so waited a couple mins then put battery back in and restart phone and then it was back to normal charging. I got a new battery and phone works great again. It's why I'm worried about updating to the later model notes because the back doesn't come off.

    I am a Note 4 owner, four years now. I have 8 batteries, Anchor and PowerBear and Yishda, 3 chargers, I almost never charge from the usb on the phone. Works great, I go camping for 5 days and plenty of batteries left. There is some screen burn in at the top, and the older batteries cause the phone to act in ways previously described, but this is still a great phone. I was getting blurry photos so good to know the reason why. It would take "good" photos, considering, and then terrible pics and I couldn't figure out why.

    Thanks for the video. I've been having random restarts on my Note 4. A factory reset reduced the frequency, but did not solve it. Samsung Tech support suggested to send the phone to them, but I have no spare, so I have not done that yet. I'll try Wakelock next.

    • @MayitoTek
      @MayitoTek  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      many people have mentioned the wakelock revolved the issue, but is just a temp solution , this is usually caused by a bad motherboard.. one day it will turn off and it wont come back on .. Make sure you keep all your data backed up and don't store any valuable information like videos/pics which you may not be able to recover.

    ZeroLemon is a good brand for third-party phone batteries, for pretty much any phone with a replaceable battery you can pick one up on Amazon, some of them even have a slightly higher capacity. Also for a mini phones they have a battery case that is the internal battery and the case for those of you who need a battery to last multiple days and don't mind having a brick in your pocket.

    My 5-year-old Note 2 died mysteriously overnight a couple of months ago. No idea why as it was totally dead in the morning, bricked, even tried a new battery to no avail. Anyway, that's beside the point. I replaced it with a "seller refurbished" Note 4 from eBay (AU) and have had no issues with it. Did a 'factory reset', transferred the SIM and SD card from the Note 2, switched the language back to English and we were off and running. After hearing your comments an battery life with used phones, I bought a 3rd party battery and external charger. I've had no issues with either battery.
    The only issue I have had is that my phone is a N910K, which is a Korean home market version. It runs Android V6.0.1 set up for the Olleh network and has Olleh, Samsung and other Korean apps which are useless to me. Apart from that, and some slightly strange behaviour (to a non-Korean), it runs great. I can live with this, rather than risk a loss of some functionality as seems to be the case with some 3rd party ROMs.
    Lack of replaceable battery and expandable storage are deal-breakers for me.

    I loved my note 4, had none of these problems until 2 days ago. It was playing a podcast through headphones and it randomly shut off. I haven't been able to boot at all, no response from hard or soft reboot, plugging in charger or to computer does nothing. I tried putting my spare batteries into it and that didn't work either. I'm so disappointed I loved this phone and plan to keep it for several more years but now I'm scrambling to find a new phone.

      I'd really like another note 4, but I don't think there's anywhere to get a new N910C or N910A for a reasonable price. I'd be concerned with getting a used one since the Amoled screen could have burn-in if someone isn't careful. For now, I got a Huawei Mate SE. I may get something else later on, but I'm not sure yet.
      And GSP, I've tried the freezer trick twice and unfortunately it didn't work.

      Tonia Phillips-Henderson I always used extended batteries too. I been using extended batteries in all of my android phones. For about 6 years. Stock batteries die too quickly. Depending on high the battery mah is. My phone wouldnt need to be charged for well over 12 hours. And thats with heavy use. Light use was pushing 24 hours on a single charge. I would get mine from china. For low cost. Now i have the galaxy S8(sprint). Sadly it has an non-removable battery😭😭😭😭

    Still using my Note 4. On my second battery now and still loving it. Where can I buy another one. So many ebay sellers but not many who you can trust that it's a GENUINE SAMSUNG NOTE 4. The wife and I got one at the same time 3-4 years ago and mine is working great. but hers is starting to freeze and go into rebooting mode. Wake lock doesn't work for her. I tried a factory reset and it worked but when I backed all her stuff back, the same problems returned. I'm thinking it's a trojan that's hidden in her back up data or something like that. Hi ZokStar-
      1) The "freeze and go into rebooting mode", is a very well known issue with the N4. Is an actual issue with the hardware. Happened to my first phone
      2) I am yet to come across a N4 new in a box, this phone was released about 4 years ago. Unless people kept it as a collective.. I don't know how else you can find one . The "new" N4 you find in ebay are probably just refurbishes N4s.

    The headphone jack on my Note 4 (t-mobile) has this crackling noise when headphones are connected to it. The noise is loud when music vol is low, but low noise when the music is high.
    I had a clown at T Mobile tell me that there was stuff in the headphone jack by flashing his light in it, but that was not true. I went home and opened the phone and swapped out the jack, and it still had the noise.
    Is this a common issue with the Note 4'ers?
    I'm thinking of snapping my Note 4 in half and getting another phone... decided on snapping it in half because it's got THINGS in it that are very sensitive.

    • @MayitoTek
      @MayitoTek  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      that is not a very common issue based on all the feedback I got from Note 4 users, but you are not the first one to mention it . hard to tell what it is, I know when using mine, sometimes if they are not connected correctly I get some static, assuming maybe some part on the hardware may be making a bad connection .. really hard to tell .. I assume you already did a master reset to rule out a software issue..

The battery life isn't too good so I replaced it a couple of months back but it's still not great maybe 4 - 5 hrs of use out of it. It also seems to run abit hot if using 4g and this reduces the battery life further but hey I use WiFi mainly so not really an issue. I much prefer Samsung phones over Apple iPhone's. There not so locked down n force you to use the app store or iTunes to do anything. It does everything I need out of a phone and really well to even tho it's getting on abit. well.. I know the feeling .. My first Note 4 had the boot loop issue a month after warranty was out .

      Ah, you have a locked bootloader Note 4. Too bad. But still great review, gave it a like. Here a re a few more things you can do with even a locked bootloader phone:
      1. Get rid of Flipboard, from the home screen settings. It slows the phone down, and I don't think anyone uses it.
      2. Even though your phone is unable to root, you should be able to enable Developer Options, under About Phone. Click on the build number several times, and you'll be there. Then, go back and open the Developer options. Don't mess with too much, but I would enable UBS Debugging. Let's you connect to a computer easily. But more important, go to Window Animation Scale, Transition Animation Scale, and Animator Duration scale. Usually these are set default to 1X or 1.5 X. There's no reason for that. Set them to 0.5 X, and the phone will speed up.
      3. Now and then, clear the cache of your most used apps, web browser, email, etc. Just go to Application Manager, click on the App, and click on storage, most will show a "Clear Cache" option. Clear that cache now and then. I wouldn't clear the data, which is another button, as that will delete all your settings. But clearing cache now and then is good for your phone.
      If you do all these, your Note 4 will outperform a lot of the new phones on the market today. You just have to take the effort. All the best.

    • @MayitoTek
      @MayitoTek  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      ok , so you have a bad battery .. I did two videos on my channel where i replaced the battery myself.. I bought a battery kit for around $15 and I also had to buy another back cover for another $15 since I ended damaging it in the process.. I would suggest you stop using this phone and DONT charge it anymore.
      Not sure if y ou want to do it yourself, but if the back cover is already broken, you can try ordering a new battery kit and a new back cover that will run you for around $30. Also check your local phone repair shops and see how much the charge.

    Did the Galaxy Note 4 and S5 fix the major problem I've been noticing with that S4 and Note 3.
    I've had three devices in that category and all of them have the same problem the Note 3 with a slightly different variant, in the middle of TH-cam videos the video stopped playing in the sound keeps going, if it happens too often a reboot usually stops it from being a recurring issue. To fix it all I have to do is reset the visuals by closing the app and opening it, was it your birthday video stays on but the visuals reset.
    And with the Note 3 the video stops and restarts automatically, I assume it's a ram issue the ram must struggle with recashing 720p and 1080p content in some situations.

    • @MayitoTek
      @MayitoTek  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      no issues on my end with the N4.. Funny you mention that .. Seems TH-cam updated their apps to limit the N4 to only play videos at 1080P resolutions, based on some feedback.. people used to be able to play videos at a higher resolutions.
      I read somewhere that TH-cam limited the N4 to 1080P because it could not handle streaming higher resolutions.. As you mentioned, probably issues with the RAM

      I'm running Android OREO on my Note 4. Check out custom ROMs, I'm using the crdroid one (although I'm not entirely sure whether it's avalaible for exynos as well). While I've been using custom ROMs since the beginning, I avoided non samsung based ones for way too long. With Android 8.1and a new battery (my 5th by now) my phone runs super smooth and I could replace the Spen functionalities that I really used with SPen Command.
      For my personal usage there is just no reason why I should switch to a newer device (luckily my Note4 is still running perfectly fine and I've no hardware issues at all), so make sure to try it out before judging that your Note needs a replacement.

    1. batteries Samsung does not make Note 4 batteries anymore. Most Amazon sellers are really reselling Counterfeit Note 4 OEM batteries supplied from China, Ebay has same batteries at 1/3rd the cost. 2. I had serious problems with the Note 4 crashing and turning off, or resetting alot after installing higher amped batteries. I finally fix the phone by deleting the cache and data options on one of the 'boot' options, then reflashed the software using Odin and Note 4 firmware. Be casreful as if you do a NAND reformatting, you will brick the phone and the IMEI information and numbers get wiped, its a blank phone. I followed several you tubes on how to do this, and it worked.

    Another issue I've had that angers me is when the phone shuts off because of low power, you charge it, power it back on and then the radio doesn't turn back on. Radio as in you phone calls, text and data do not work. Solution is you pull the battery and pull the sim card and then put the battery only in and then power it on. Next you power it on, pull the battery, insert the sim card, reinsert the battery and then power it on. The radio turning off like that consistently pisses me off. Oh and the last issue led to a lawsuit that is going on now.

    IMO the most common problem was not mentioned here - the aging of eMMC memory. You can check the eMMC speed with AndroBench app. Usually the speed is around 200mb/s, but like in my case after 3 years of usage the speed is around 28mb/s. There should be 3 solution for that - bake you motherboard in the oven in order to revitalize the eMMC (no joke), replace the motherboard (~€150,-) or buy the newest Note 9 and I am certainly not giving >€1000,- for one smartphone.

      sorry,I understand now. I never had anyone mention a similar issue before or a possible solution in the channel.
      Below is what I usually suggest to find the root cause of an issue.
      1. Determine if is a hardware issue or a software issue.
      2. I usually do a reset of the phone and test the issue before installing anything to determine if the issue still exist. Usually if it still happens it most likely means the issue is with the hardware. ( make sure to backup all files, pics, passwords, etc)
      3. Test each part , try with a different cable and wall charger.
      4. See if you can get a hold of a diff battery and try to replicate the issue to eliminate the possibility of a bad battery .
      4. If your issue persist, there may be some issue with the charging port itself. The micro USB charging ports are known to be problematic as they get lose over time.

    afterwards download and reskin the device with a quality launcher from the play store to keep look updated'
    also cheap aftermarket batt are just plain shit' invest in a quality 5000-8000mah battery the 2 he tagged are good'

      king xj how can you find a 5000 mah battery that fits? Or are you suggesting buying a beast with clip on back? And how do i revert to android 5? I agree the upgrade was a disaster

      I bought OEM from amazon a year ago and was still not getting the best charge. Is there something else or somewhere else I should purchase?

      S. Anderson you probly bought a fake oem from amazon. Yes its full of them and they say samsung on them but their crap. Anker,ravpower and zerolemon are the third parties that are highly recommended. Get two then get a external charger for the batteries and your promblens are solved. 0 to 100 percent charged in 30 seconds. The brand is elander i think for the charger its a closable cradle that will charge your extra battery quick.

      If you manage to still be on 5.1 or you find a way to downgrade from 6.0 you can use debloater to never get bothered by updates again. It has been a godsend. I have had three note 4s in the family. Im the only one who used debloater and im the only whos phone still running like new. Apple got caught slowing old phones samsung just hasnt been caught yet but i strongly suspect they do it or its a very strange coincidence that my phone is the lone survivor.

    In my case when i turn off my note 4 it wont fire up right away and you need to take out the battery and wait a couple of minutes so it would restart.and if you chose to restart it by prrssig the power butto it wont,i just bought my 4th battery and it is still not solving the issues,what could be the problem with my note 4?

    • @MayitoTek
      @MayitoTek  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      sounds like issue with the hardware, very common issue. I assume you already tried resetting the phone and that did not help ? Some people have suggested putting it on the freezer for a few mins and try to turn it on afterwards

    I have a note 4 and it got stuck in a boot loop. I can’t let it die or it’ll be hard to get it to turn back on. I use the wakelock app too cuz my phone will be super slow and unresponsive if the cpu takes a break. Before wakelock, locking my phone caused it to wake up slow and not put in the password. It’d freeze. Just a mess. Wakelock saved me........for now.

    I experienced all those issues with my Note 4. I also had issues with my micro SD card. It always said my SD card is corrupted, and that I had reformatted.

    Regarding the GPS on the phone I found certain bluetooth devices cause a bad GPS connection. I have a bluetooth FM radio transmitter, even if it not connected to the phone, the phone loses it GPS connection. When I turn off the bluetooth device the GPS on the phone works perfectly.

    When I place a phone call the screen goes dark immediately! I put to my ear and pull away, the screen stays dark. It does not light up like it is suppose to, to show multitasking. This issue started about a month ago. The only way to get the screen to light up, is to press the home button. Please help!

    • @MayitoTek
      @MayitoTek  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you have some issue with one of the sensors. when you make a phone call and you put the phone over your ear, it is supposed to turn off the screen to save the battery. If the sensor is bad, it may be causing the screen to go black even when you don't have anything in front of it. you may just be able to turn off that feature. Let me do some research and will get back to you

    Is there a certain amount of battery life to have when you are trying to speed up your Samsung note 4?

    • @MayitoTek
      @MayitoTek  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Rick, I am sorry but I did not get the question . Can you add some more context please. If you are referring to resetting/formatting the phone, is recommended that you have at least 30% battery charge.. I usually make sure I have at least 70% to make sure it holds up for a while in case something goes wrong in the process
