The Jim Beam might be made at the Old Grand-Dad plant in Frankfort KY. I think Old Grand-Dad 100 is made in Clermont KY, near Bernheim Forest. I base a lot on how a shot makes me feel the next 2 hours, then averaged for the whole bottle multiple times.
I’m not a big fan of Buffalo Trace but I do buy the bottles when I see them and give them away as presents because everyone I know thinks it’s the best. Win win.
Bulleit is definitely overhated and underrated. It’s one of the first bourbon’s I purchased, but I’ve tried it over the years and, to my taste buds, it doesn’t disappoint.

Price is a big factor for me. Here in Minnesota popular brands like Old Forester 100 and Turkey 101 (Liter) are over $30. Bulleit and Buffalo Trace are both over $45 as well. Whereas OGD 100 only costs $23 ex-tax, and for a Liter bottle at that, which makes it my favorite go-to bourbon. Great series btw.
Regional differences. Here in St. Louis Buffalo Trace ranges between $30-45 depending on the day and store. I'll never spend $45 on a bottle but I have spent up to $35. I just pick up a spare bottle when I run across them for sub $30 if I don't have an unopened bottle in storage. Almost as hard to find is OGD. You can find OGD 100 for $20-22 on a semi regular basis but you NEVER see OGD 114. If they have 114 they post it like they just an exclusive drop... thankfully it's still priced at $25-30. OF 100 tends to be $25 everywhere you go but it's tougher to find than any of the prohibition series (probably because of the price difference). Oddly, you are almost better going to a grocery store or small selection gas station to actually find OF 100 than going to a big wine & spirits store. Bulleit is absolutely everywhere for $30.
@@BatchAndBloom, Those old 95-proof white labels are going for more than the newer 108-proof by me. The prices are $42 for the 95 proof and $37 for the 108 proof. You should maybe go get some more of them at that price.
Interesting! Ive always thought of BT as more complex than Bulleit. But I've never done them side by side! To me, BT is certainly more complex than Eagle Rare, which I have done side by side.

Wow you can get JB single barrel under 25? In my area I don't see it much but it's minimum 35 bucks even pushing 40
Yup, cheapest I've seen it here (NE Texas) is $36.

Funny, just happened to have some BT last night, and was thinking I was picking up more of those sweet notes than I remembered.
BT products always give me an initial strawberry note. That's how I identify BT products.
